Polo- a timeless design... I love it as much as I used to love it 10 yrs. back..... solid build, sharp design, a true driver's delight.......for me the limited rear seating space, led headlamps, and lack of diesel engine option are the misses. Auto headlamps, auto wipers, sunroof are just showoff and not required in Indian conditions.

I don’t mind the space constraint though. Use it like a 2 seater Mini Cooper on budget and it’s still the most fun. Only proper hatch with great engine & auto gearbox combo.
They should bring the new Polo or Golf to India. VW is not releasing any new fun to drive cars. I used to own a Passat which was just awesome due to its 2 litre diesel. Like if you agree.
The government policies are downright contradictory. First they say they want to make driving safe in india, and at the same time they hike taxes on anything above the 4M mark & dont even offer incentive for car makers who are willing to offer safety tech in the budget range. Golf not coming here is most to do with how price sensitive market & Taxes don’t go well. Even Tata isn’t going all out with their altroz and Nexon line to save costs.
The only way for VW to get the Golf or new polo here will be through the CBU route like they did with their T-Roc SUV. Maybe that’s the only way enthusiasts get to enjoy the latest offerings although at a hefty premium.
I have the Ameo TDI DSG Connected Edition with DSG and it is a pure driving pleasure. With 110 bhp and 250 nm torque, the acceleration is exhilaration. Pity BS6 killed the 1.5 lt TDI. It was a gem of an engine.
VW should update interiors. Exterior is okay in my opinion. Things VW should do to boost the sale of Polo :- First thing VW needs to do is slash the price by 1-1.5 lac₹ across the range. Just like Renault did with Duster. It’s 10-12 year old product so cost of manufacturing would have definitely gone down so they can do it if they want. It’s an old chassis and platform so they can sell it at cheaper cost, something like what Apple is doing; Selling iPhone SE at cheaper price with old body of iPhone 6s. Right now it can’t be considered as a great product. Let’s be honest besides Driving dynamics and build quality it has nothing else to offer. Paying almost 10 lac for Highline Plus is not so value for money considering it’s also not so spacious. And buying Comfortline doesn’t make sense since Highline Plus itself is lacking so many features.
That’s the problem with us Indians we want more features for less price and that’s the reason we don’t get the latest cars released globally with high price tags which we can’t buy and then complain why we don’t get new models. That’s a fact.
In the premium hatch segment the Polo & Altroz are the only worthy cars in petrol versions. And although many ppl complain of features, they don’t understand that this is the only car that offers great driving and safety with a proper automatic option! i20 doesn’t prioritise safety and moreover is way pricey for a worrying DCT version. Figo does offer TC but the engine is mediocre. Baleno is 0 stars rated, Jazz isn’t fun and doesnt even offer the feature that made it sell aka Magic Seats. Altroz still only gives an AMT and hasn’t even offered that powerful an engine. All said and done Altroz is the only car that can draw customers away from this, but for that Tata needs to give it Nexon engine and most importantly a proper auto! JTP would be sweet!

The fuel efficiency point is correct.. Abarth 1.4 turbo gives around 18 if driven like an 80yr old.. but put your foot down and consistently drive above 150 it will drop to 8.. drive above 170 it will drop to 4

Everything I can accept but interior plastic quality not being good is a false statement, Polo has one of the best interior plastic quality, this is coming from and 2019 i20 owner (2019 i20 had good quality of plastic new i20 has the worst quality of plastic) My friend bought Polo TSI just three months after mi i20 my car has started to rattle, but his Polo still rock-solid, well I have driven it 50000 km and he has done 48000 km but his driving is much on the rougher side due to he lives in a village environment where rules are basic and pothole, can I drive mostly in the city on butter smooth roads with decent amount of potholes but not as compared to what he drives on.
All are doing paid promotions ... Since vw dont support these things they will never tell this car best ..he also highlighted negatives so much but good things just theek h .. but this is actually best ni segment in above .. my polo done 60k kms in 5 yrs and still buttery smooth and none in rival who can win from it.

even Altroz turbo couldnt compete Tsi polo
* Nexon - Top model above 10lac,
and interior " kuchh jyada hi over tha"
* Xuv 300 - Fun to drive, Mileage too low, Top model above 10lac
*i 20, i 10 - Very underpower, lack of safety, dont understand why people are buying this car
* Swif, baleno ki Testdrive hi nai li

but will definatly purchase "Brezza"
if Top model available in 10lac
But Needs more space, projector Headlight, Drl, Rear camera, Orvm will also close on presssing car key, Good AC cooling

The fuel efficiency point is correct.. Abarth 1.4 turbo gives around 18 if driven like an 80yr old.. but put your foot down and consistently drive above 150 it will drop to 8.. drive above 170 it will drop to 4

Everything I can accept but interior plastic quality not being good is a false statement, Polo has one of the best interior plastic quality, this is coming from and 2019 i20 owner (2019 i20 had good quality of plastic new i20 has the worst quality of plastic)
My friend bought Polo TSI just three months after mi i20 my car has started to rattle, but his Polo still rock-solid, well I have driven it 50000 km and he has done 48000 km but his driving is much on the rougher side due to he lives in a village environment where rules are basic and pothole, can I drive mostly in the city on butter smooth roads with decent amount of potholes but not as compared to what he drives on.
