Optimal health starts in the mouth. Unfortunately, this area of the body has been treated like a “second-rate citizen” in healthcare. Toxic substances such as mercury, fluoride, palladium, bismuth and others have been used in the mouth and the general public told that they are safe. Additionally, common chronic illnesses such as periodontal disease and periapical infection from root canals are considered “normal”. All of these things cause chronic oxidative stress on the body which leads to breakdown of the human system.

    Dr. Blodgett's Philosophy
We believe in whole health optimization. Our team at Blodgett Dental Care understands that the mouth is an integral part of the body. Teeth originate from the same tissues which form your central nervous system. Treating the oral cavity as though it were separate from the rest of the body is inherently flawed and ultimately leads to compromised health. Our integrative biological approach to dental medicine considers the whole health of each patient.
The core philosophy at Blodgett Dental Care is to redefine the patient experience to one which is wholly personalized and positive. We want our patients to embrace their oral health and to understand that the focus is fully centralized around their goals. We also understand that many people have challenging emotions around past dental experiences. Our New Patient Experience process helps to acknowledge these feelings and move beyond them. We welcome all people who are seeking to achieve their best levels of systemic health.

My comment is thankyou ...my brother passed away after having nine brain abbsesses...I have studied the pathology report and have studied the various bacteria ,majorly being aggregatibactor aphfrophillis...many anarobes..prior having headaches, sinus infection and no labs being done by the 4 doctors...also having a brief conver with his dentist..who told me he had prescribed antibiotics...but I truly believe that something in his mouth or sinus invaded the blood brain barrier....I did no autopsy..and not one of his Doctors offered any explanation..or would speak with me....another conversation.??.Charley had some serious mouthwash prescibed, and a water pick..its my fault that I did not suggest an infectious desease doc.....just my comment being as with your lecture I reiterate the mouth and head are so suspect with desease.............I do have the xray of the mutiloculated absesses...........all over the brain...usually a temporal abbsess indicates a sinus infection..but charleys went through the blood.............

Elaine: So read the lists online of antimicrobial foods and start adding those into your diet somehow every day. Many make good teas to replace soda.
Only during the pandemic did I explore these because the public was left so long with no medical anti-virals. People pick their favorites. For me they are turmeric, cinnamon, and garlic either alone or in combination.
I took microbiology at UCLA and got an A, and the professor told us that the basic problem with viruses are that they are mostly protein, water, and genetic material, and we are mostly protein, water, genetic material, calcium, and cell membranes. Almost everything that will kill a virus will also kill us. The key advantage we have is that it takes LESS to kill a virus. We tolerate LOWER quantities than viruses kill viruses.
So, keeping a good supply of anti-microbial food in your diet can kill off viruses and bacteria before the immune system has to bother with them.
During early 2020 I had Covid-19 and happened to be eating turmeric and drinking chamomile tea while I had 5 days of the lethargy symptom. Chamomile is an anti-inflamatory that might have held off the citocine storm. When the fatigue passed enough for me to go out to get food, my lungs felt like they were on fire in the fresh air.
When the pandemic was announced, I started drinking turmeric tea every day because the anti-virals is said to be activated by hot water. I mention this as background to the point that there are chemicals that can penetrate all or most cells that we have. By July 2020, my skin and eyeballs had started turning a noticeable yellow, NOT from jaundice. My liver function was fine. The golden yellow of the turmeric had penetrated all my skin and eyes.
Any SARS2 that tried to attack me first had to struggle against the turmeric.
Turmeric did not work against Omicron or Delta for me. However, garlic did. By the time Delta hit, I had been vaccinated and still had to fight those two with what I had in the cupboard: turmeric, cinnamon, and garlic. For me, the garlic worked the strongest. I tested what I consumer against when painful symptoms appeared and disappeared.
I don't deny science, but I can use scientific method to attempt to keep health. Diet is a central resource.

The new way...we place babies on their back for sleeping which is prime for mouth breathing. My kid was slightly allergic to milk products so, no ice cream/milk before bed or they would snore. I breast fed (ate way too many sweets), so my toddler's teeth had cavities which they did root canals on and caps on baby teeth. Sad... what I know now, never. Since then, I've had several dentists tell me I need root canals done, I told them no, just capped and I've had no problems!

Now I caught up with the comments and read them all. I knew that last thing wouldn't be redundant, troll that I am, but now...
Didja know, zirconium is a metal? Ok, what they use in implants is an oxide, what you'd call a ceramic, zirconia, but it's no more natural in the human body than ruby or sapphire, which are forms of an oxide of aluminum. This only matters if you're hung up on nature and have something against artifice. Artifice is natural to the human species, if you haven't noticed. I mean, it says it in the Bible in a couple places implicitly if you care to give such stuff credence, like it's not obvious anyway, in God's image, master of nature, all that. I know several people whose life was unnaturally extended by artifice. Dentistry is art, in the archaic sense; it's unnatural. Lots of people would be dead naturally, but they're still alive and productive, artificially. I know someone who was born rather premature, who'd be dead before she was old enough to walk, naturally. If you think natural is best, just because it feels good or as a matter of principle, you may as well be worshiping an idol, that's silly. If nature is all that, you can be thankful you're not a zebra being torn to pieces by lions. Nature is more cruel in places than anyone you'd want to deal with.
Zirconium has no detectable function, just yet, the story goes, in biology. And should you care? If gold, titanium or zirconia in your body can extend your life and preserve/restore your power, is that so farfetched? I mean, compared to biology to begin with. Just try putting your instincts aside and looking up an orifice with an endoscope. :) Anyhoo, a healthcare professional who gives lip-service to the individuality of a patient's case, yet says a certain treatment/procedure/internal device is categorically bad, without anything in the way of an explanation you can personally verify, is either mad, dishonest, or stupid. It bears mentioning, to sheep who can be easy prey. But I agree, like any reputable dentist also would, that it's 'just mind-blowing' that poor Blodgett 'had mercury shoved into his tooth, much of which was falling into the floor of his mouth'. 7:30. If he wasn't a timid trusting tweenager at the time, maybe he could have reported that bum dentist and put them out of business. Speaking of which, the acronym, HHP, after the name of that hygienist, Zander, stands for Holistic Health Practitioner. That's a credential with no standard accrediting organization in sight, but you can get it just for passing _your choice_ of 5 courses from a list at this place- holisticartsinstitute.com/HHP.html. And $895. Lately. 'Cause it says (Save over 10%!). I'll pick 5 extra cheesy-sounding courses right now. Angel Healing, Biology of Intention, Divine Guidance, Crystal and Gemstone Therapy, and Spirituality Simplified. Everyone who can afford it should be a HHP. It's neato!
