After few minutes, i have more issues whit it than before. 1. whyile you get more info now, what is the data usage, because of anomaly's and limited data plans and network lag, because you are using many different apps in backround that take away your data speed, so yea what is the data usage in prime. compared to regular ingress. 2. still 2000 items .... like it was fine when we had 200 portals in town, no we have 1000 portals in the same town and im usually carring aroung 1200 or more keys, and abit inventory in it is hard to play at all. just increase the inv cap by .. like 500 per level. 3. This is not pokemon, this is ingress and ingress is different than pogo, less animations. it's just to much and it takes so much time. 4. comms have portal pics, like why ? why clutter information you don't need, you see portal name and thats it. 5.rooting is a bummer, i know a lot of good active players who will stop playing for that. and that does not solve the problem. Because Pogo has at least 10x more spoofers than in ingress :D 6. aaa the animations and no back button, i would say that is the biggest thing yet. that will kill prime for me, the animations. don't care about the rooting, and i can manage my keys just fine, im playing with 1200+ keys all the time and im fine, i can manage with lower screen button and not slide where you want to attack, but animations and slow gameplay like in pokemon, ... no that will kill off the game. not the pokemon players but for ingress palyers. The people who allowed you to make pogo.
I saw "prime" and thought I was an upgrade. Change? What change. Besides the UI? How to use the UI and changing how it looks is one in the same. I'll try this New Ingress but I'm sure after a week or so I'll digress
Here's a couple of my personal reviews on Ingress Prime, as it is right now in the iPhone: + Positive Grid selection screen for mass recycling. Main screen inventory and key count 1-finger rotation Perspective Zoom Quick access to cubes - Negative Tap-and-hold quick menus are gone Graphics are slightly blurry and ethereal AP gained isn't always immediately shown Linking/fielding is slow; animations and false links shown periodically Select all function when loading/unloading capsules only shows up after tapping on one item Default selections are not remembered Passcodes can't be entered on iOS Full intel is not available Glyphing is buggy and "forgets" that you've lifted your finger between glyphs periodically I have an iPhone X. Maybe the Android version feels better, but I'm not investing in an Android phone just for Ingress. Some of my friends who are Android users are also rather upset, and downloaded the Redacted scanner. Redacted for iOS isn't available, yet. The old Ingress scanner already had two ways to hack without a key. Either tap and hold on the portal and choose "Hack No Key," or enter the LESS glyph during the glyphing sequence. This feature is not available in Ingress Prime. I have other gripes, but I can't think of them all right now.
While there are a few niceties, the heavier usage of data, battery, animations, and other crap really torpedoes much of the good... as for the "root" problem... I have work based items that require rooting and the GPS is INCREDIBLY easy to spoof either way if you know what you are doing... especially if you have a wee bit of electronics knowledge... those turds that do the spoofing are going to bypass that in a couple weeks and then point to the supposed "impossibility" as their defense... way to go Niantic, do you understand technology at all?

I've been unable to play Pokèmon Go since v0.35 was updated. I have my Android devices rooted for daily, automatic backups. I've been playing Ingress since it became open beta (I have my Founder's Badge) when I had to tether my Acer Iconia Tab A500 to my Motorola Milestone A853 to play. I participated in the Field Trip app to help add more possible portal locations for Ingress. I won't use Magisk (?) and risk being banned as I'm proud to have been there since the beginning and I don't want to risk losing Niantic's acknowledgment to that fact. I just wish they'd figure out a way to deal with GPS spoofing, cheaters, and possible piracy without penalizing those of us that actually play by the rules and have legitimate reasons for having rooted devices.
No leaderboard, AND no navigation. Navigation was good for setting a waypoint as a goal on the map, and put your phone into your pocket. It doesn't allow the phone to turn off screen, and because of that you can grind the "walking" badge. Now I have to hold my phone in my hand and tap every now and then so it doesn't turn off. annoying
Where I can add new portals (I’m level 10), I don‘t find the button :(. There are nearly no portals in my area, I just want to play in my village Niantic 😫.
I wouldn't call losing the navigation feature an improvement. I kinda liked being able to KNOW WHERE TO GO both with audiocues and distance cues, without having to look at the phone. Zero hands, beats 1 handed >_>' *annoyed*

You know I didn't even know that the compass was gone cause it didn't even phase me. Also didn't notice is in Delta T. But I'll have to note that is changes I missed.
@@collin3000 I don't really need the compass in my hometown, obviously. But in a foreign city? While doing banners? Definitely. Especially when there are a lot of square city blocks and the like.
I’m a little disappointed that we don’t get any new gameplay options. There are some quality of life changes but the gameplay is the exact same. Very little seems to have improved. It looks great though and I’m excited to see the QoL changes.
Nia has said they are working on "feature parity" before adding new features in. Some things are simple UI changes that were added as part of the basic build (always accessible cube carousel being one), but for the moment, Prime is still using the same server back end. Once they get Prime up to the same features of OG, they can start working on server side feature upgrades.
Hey Colin, the data is a burner some touches look cool. I would really love to see you review a game like reality clash which pushes the AR features more!
#1 some of the UI improvements are better then some of the features previously introduced. I'll take quick cube access and ability to see under BAF over ito en's any day. #2 Original version would no longer work for iOS 12 and above. So this keeps Apple people able to play. #3 Prime will get new backend features and this way they're building from a base that will work long term thanks to unity engine.
@@collin3000 Niantic worked a fix to ingress on iOS 12 They originally offered access to prime for anomaly players that had 12 but they fixed the bugs in old ingress and took that offering down.
Connecting your account to Facebook, will help you change your Gmail account. It's a common problem for people started ingress with their work or school account and there weren't any option to change it. How to: 1) link Facebook account. 2) Log out from ingress and log back in via Facebook. 3) Go to settings and remove the link from Gmail account. 4) Press to link Gmail account. The list of Gmail accounts, currently on your device will appear and you will be able to choose another one. 5) Log out and log back in with Gmail and unlink Facebook, if you don't want Mark to have access on your data.

For the next video rather than naming specific phones I'm figuring out the bare minimum to run "playable", "Okay", and 30 FPS, based on screen resolution and 3D Mark slingshot scores. That way everyone can check their own phones easily. On specific phone recommends videos I have to leave out Xiaomi since my viewership is mostly in US and there's no US importer that gives warranty. But that's why I added a spreadsheet on the last one so you can check any phone against the recommendation!

I used to play 24/7 when I was awake with my family owning my own business allowed me to do this. I quit playing around 2013 due to all the hackers GPS spoofing or using a hacked app (non root). It sucks knowing you put up this field in a way it couldn't be taken down due to the location of all the portals being closed. You couldn't get with in 5 miles of some of these portals after hours then 1 am rolls around you get a alert someone attacking those portals. Ingress could of solved this with some sort of verification system from other legit players and had a incentive for people to do this. Where a real player that has been verified in person by scanning other players phone (barcode with cam) then all players get some sort of loot then repeat. So if you see a level 8+ that has no that has no verification you know something is up or the player has to scan x amount of bar codes either faction to level past 7 if ingress thinks there activity is strange. Hard to explain in text. I always wanted ingress to add some sort of home play option like you can hack remotely at home by deploying "satellites" while your out in certain area's that transmit your signal with in range but if the other faction see's your satellite they can destroy it. I had a long list that would of really made this game very addicting IMO.
The functions would be great but the legibility is not good. I deleted the app and have returned to "Scanner Redacted," where I will be playing as long as they'll permit it. The new app has such tiny type, and it's all gray on gray, very low contrast. Fewer taps, but what the hell am I tapping on? The active areas all look alike unless you read the tiny, tiny type.
Now I remeber I heard about this game a couple of years ago. Ive just finished watchin The Animation and I before it ended I figured it was based off a game. You clearly played the game before the animation came out on Netflix, what did you think about it?
I really like the new UI it looks really cool, but not good for operating. Despite the lags, it is very hard to choose the specific portal among the many of them.
Yeah there was actually a bit of an online complaint storm due to the way they did it in Pokemon Go. It basically checks for the presence of folders accociated with common rooting applications/techniques. And if they are present on the phone it will mark it as "rooted". One reporter just had the Magisk folder still on his phone (not even rooted) and it wouldn't let him play.
Re: Rooting of Android - I'd wonder if anyone has tested various methods of rooting that hide the rooting from selected apps. I know I worked around such detection on at least one app on my old Samsung Galaxy S4 running LineageOS 13.x and 14.x.
Magisk should work fine. Add it to the blacklist in magisk hide before running the app for the first time and then it should work. Same with pogo and animal crossing.
Now that it's out of beta, it still works with root but it seems to look for some often used apps which require root. So hide the manager and for me Substratum has prevented it from working.
Love how portals dont take so much space any more. Much cleaner map! Thats all I wanted. Might make me play again, since I was getting bored from no updates!
Okay, 5 months in.... Who is using PRIME only???? I don't. Still sucks up too much battery, still can't see field colors easily, glitchy on glyphing, can't see the cooldown timer because it disappears too quickly and such....
the first 3 days, i have to get use to, but after that everything seem ok, but the grafic and animation took lost af time, some time after creating a field, screen got all blank.
Although I'm sure they were hoping for hype in pulling back NDA the Agent Preview added 1000's of new agent so I think they realized it really wasn't practical to not expect leaks anyway. For those that didn't get Agent Preview the game is finally almost here!

I don't have Prime yet, but I think (i THINK) there's a quicker way to drop single keys! Try multi-selecting one key and dropping it from that key menu instead of going into the specific key's menu :)
The ONLY thing that I like more is the pulse the agent makes every 10 seconds to "scan" for data. Everything else just looks like Pokemon Go with even weirder animations, a.k.a BAD. Oh and the link portal animation, WTF IS THIS?! Have never been more disgusted in my life.

I played the original one summer a few years ago, I was a little confused about how it worked. I stood in the area the target was in, but I could never do anything with it.
Google+ may die but the Google Login API will still be around and fully functioning. Although it hasn't been announced what social platform Niantic will be moving too they are currently using Reddit for some things and they also purchased the social network Evertoon. So Facebook isn't even a guaranteed migration for their social media.
Been playing since the start. Prime has ruined it for me. Hard to see fields. Always seems to default to the lowest level resonator/mod/power cube in inventory. I’ll happily hang up the scanner for good.
Its amazing how garbage prime was in the beginning, xm was barely noticeable. Xmp and resonators all had the same colour blue. Prime has come a long way and it still needs A LOT of work.
Nice little overview of prime. Looking forward to use it. Out of curiosity: can you (or anyone with an LG phone) please check if it supports that neat split screen feature?
It seems like everything in Prime is deeper into menus than it was in Ingress Classic. Is there a way to revert to Ingress Classic? I find myself playing more Pokémon now that I have installed Ingress Prime.
Scanner [Redcacted] will be released into the app store in the next couple of days. That's the original scanner that you can redownload and use for the next fews months while they finish getting Prime up to feature parity with the Original Scanner
@@collin3000 The nice thing about Redacted is it can be installed along side of Ingress Prime so that you can switch back & forth and gradually get used to Prime. Sort of like a digital methadone clinic.
Absolutely! This evening I was actually doing the writing on 101, 102, 103, and started 104/105 outlines. Plan is to shoot those this week and then edit during my downtime on tour later this month. So hopefully 101 ~ Nov 20, 102 ~ 23rd, 103 ~27th, and 104/105 in early December :)
It's not in there but I think I'd seen it on a list to add in before launch. The only reason I can think for them not adding it back in would be a backlog of portals in OPR

Prime is just too complicated compared to Redacted, performance is horrible on older devices, things are harder to see. I'l take performance and simplicity over graphics any day of the freakin week. It just needs to WORK. Back to the drawing board guys...

They moved the missions hide which made my brain space on it. That's what I get for having to rush the video :P. I'll update video description and make sure it's added into the 100 series Prime Guides.
its still is today a broken mess, laggy, ghost links/ fields alarms that dont come fast enough battery drain, harder see xm when outside.... etc.... :/
View is terrible, with my old phone everything is slower (nearly 1min to start, one of the reasons I left PoGo, it was closer to 2Mins) there is NO INTEL??????
I don't like the lack of color on the resonators in inventory. The colors aren't there. The colors are what I use to differentiate between resos.

The option is still there in the old scanner app. It's under scanner redacted in the store.

The animation make me want to return ingress, waiting for the new ingress

Ingress Prime is like a secret war that nobody knows about, yet everyone is apart of anyway?

Ingress could of solved this with some sort of verification system from other legit players and had a incentive for people to do this. Where a real player that has been verified in person by scanning other players phone (barcode with cam) then all players get some sort of loot then repeat. So if you see a level 8+ that has no that has no verification you know something is up or the player has to scan x amount of bar codes either faction to level past 7 if ingress thinks there activity is strange. Hard to explain in text. I always wanted ingress to add some sort of home play option like you can hack remotely at home by deploying "satellites" while your out in certain area's that transmit your signal with in range but if the other faction see's your satellite they can destroy it. I had a long list that would of really made this game very addicting IMO.
The functions would be great but the legibility is not good. I deleted the app and have returned to "Scanner Redacted," where I will be playing as long as they'll permit it. The new app has such tiny type, and it's all gray on gray, very low contrast. Fewer taps, but what the hell am I tapping on? The active areas all look alike unless you read the tiny, tiny type.
Now I remeber I heard about this game a couple of years ago. Ive just finished watchin The Animation and I before it ended I figured it was based off a game. You clearly played the game before the animation came out on Netflix, what did you think about it?

I really like the new UI it looks really cool, but not good for operating. Despite the lags, it is very hard to choose the specific portal among the many of them.
Wait, so Niantic has a way of detecting rooted devices, even if Magisk Hide is active? How?
Yeah there was actually a bit of an online complaint storm due to the way they did it in Pokemon Go. It basically checks for the presence of folders accociated with common rooting applications/techniques. And if they are present on the phone it will mark it as "rooted". One reporter just had the Magisk folder still on his phone (not even rooted) and it wouldn't let him play.
The thing that I am not happy with new ingress is no portal submission, no notification change, and immersive mode is gone from ingress.
Re: Rooting of Android - I'd wonder if anyone has tested various methods of rooting that hide the rooting from selected apps. I know I worked around such detection on at least one app on my old Samsung Galaxy S4 running LineageOS 13.x and 14.x.
Magisk should work fine. Add it to the blacklist in magisk hide before running the app for the first time and then it should work. Same with pogo and animal crossing.

Magisk is working for hiding root to Ingress Prime. I'm rooted on Android 8.1 and can play Prime ;)
Now that it's out of beta, it still works with root but it seems to look for some often used apps which require root. So hide the manager and for me Substratum has prevented it from working.

rooted phones are not an issue you just use magisk and voila...

Okay, 5 months in.... Who is using PRIME only???? I don't. Still sucks up too much battery, still can't see field colors easily, glitchy on glyphing, can't see the cooldown timer because it disappears too quickly and such....

the first 3 days, i have to get use to, but after that everything seem ok, but the grafic and animation took lost af time, some time after creating a field, screen got all blank.

I don't have Prime yet, but I think (i THINK) there's a quicker way to drop single keys! Try multi-selecting one key and dropping it from that key menu instead of going into the specific key's menu :)

The ONLY thing that I like more is the pulse the agent makes every 10 seconds to "scan" for data. Everything else just looks like Pokemon Go with even weirder animations, a.k.a BAD. Oh and the link portal animation, WTF IS THIS?! Have never been more disgusted in my life.

I played the original one summer a few years ago, I was a little confused about how it worked. I stood in the area the target was in, but I could never do anything with it.

Google+ may die but the Google Login API will still be around and fully functioning. Although it hasn't been announced what social platform Niantic will be moving too they are currently using Reddit for some things and they also purchased the social network Evertoon. So Facebook isn't even a guaranteed migration for their social media.

Been playing since the start. Prime has ruined it for me. Hard to see fields. Always seems to default to the lowest level resonator/mod/power cube in inventory. I’ll happily hang up the scanner for good.

Its amazing how garbage prime was in the beginning, xm was barely noticeable. Xmp and resonators all had the same colour blue. Prime has come a long way and it still needs A LOT of work.

It's currently accepting Androids built in split screen. But at 1/2 screen it's pretty unusable
It seems like everything in Prime is deeper into menus than it was in Ingress Classic. Is there a way to revert to Ingress Classic?
I find myself playing more Pokémon now that I have installed Ingress Prime.
Scanner [Redcacted] will be released into the app store in the next couple of days. That's the original scanner that you can redownload and use for the next fews months while they finish getting Prime up to feature parity with the Original Scanner
@@collin3000 The nice thing about Redacted is it can be installed along side of Ingress Prime so that you can switch back & forth and gradually get used to Prime.

Absolutely! This evening I was actually doing the writing on 101, 102, 103, and started 104/105 outlines. Plan is to shoot those this week and then edit during my downtime on tour later this month. So hopefully 101 ~ Nov 20, 102 ~ 23rd, 103 ~27th, and 104/105 in early December :)

It's not in there but I think I'd seen it on a list to add in before launch. The only reason I can think for them not adding it back in would be a backlog of portals in OPR
Collin, portal submissions are on their roadmap after the release. They scheduled them for 2019.

Prime is just too complicated compared to Redacted, performance is horrible on older devices, things are harder to see. I'l take performance and simplicity over graphics any day of the freakin week. It just needs to WORK. Back to the drawing board guys...

They moved the missions hide which made my brain space on it. That's what I get for having to rush the video :P. I'll update video description and make sure it's added into the 100 series Prime Guides.

View is terrible, with my old phone everything is slower (nearly 1min to start, one of the reasons I left PoGo, it was closer to 2Mins) there is NO INTEL??????
