Absolute best quote I ever heard about Rush: "Rush might not be your favourite band, but they're probably your favourite band's favourite band."
Only problem with that is that they could never not be my favorite band! 😍
First fave band was coheed and cambria then I found these guys through them and now I love both
Sorry to burst your bubble but they are Cack!
@@creamyj3888 I love Coheed and Cambia. I saw them live a couple months ago for the third time and they were great! Rush is still my favorite band of all time though.
In my fortunate case, both are true!
I’m choosing to believe that the crowd was in awe, because I refuse to believe this many people would give one of the most legendary bands in history who has performed once in 7 years prior to this, this much of a lukewarm reception. People thought they’d never get the chance to see them after Neil died. They have no idea how incredibly lucky they are.
I agree they were in awe . Anyone knowing Rush and David and Taylor would fully appreciate this collaboration in Taylor’s honour .
Bro they played the South Park anniversary show like a month ago
Rush were nowhere near as big in the UK as they were in the states though, lots of people who are into the FFs wouldn't necessarily know them that well.
@@Forest_Fifer Their popularity in the UK must have declined over the years. In the 80s they were able to sell out multiple shows in a row at Wembley Arena, Birmingham NEC, etc, to the point where they’d have to add an additional show to meet demand!
@@Forest_Fifer forest fifer they sold out every show in the uk throughout their 40 plus year history. Rush tickets were gold dust..
Two bands both now having lost their drummer coming together and doing such a magnificent job playing in their honor. Awesome!!!
And if you want to get deep, Working Man was recorded with their original drummer who has also passed on.
Never thought I'd see them play together again.
Absolutely incredible, we lived it, experienced it. RIP Neil and Taylor
Very well said Jim!
was just thinking that same thing this must have been quite theriputic for both parties involved
Alex Lifeson is one of the most underrated guitarist in the profession, he does not get the credit deserved! HE IS BADASS!!!!!!!
It's a shame his arthritis is affecting his playing now, but he's an utter machine on the guitar
He is as good as anyone in Rock on Guitar.... bar none..... Rush are the best Rock musicians ever.... not even close....
@@Wcarpen3 Its hard to rank bands, because the great ones are all so unique in their own ways.
I love Alex in Rush, but was disappointed in his recent solo album. I couldn't get into it.
@@Wcarpen3 Couldn't possibly agree more!
Man, I’m getting chills just listening to Dave living out every drummers dream - playing Neil’s parts with Alex and Geddy!
I agree, pretty sure I heard some Rutsey fills in there too.
Right!?!
With such accuracy and paralleled passion. I'm sure Neil would approve.
Looks pretty damned exhausting!
It wasn't his first time playing with RUSH. Both Dave and Taylor were the chosen presenters of RUSH into their R&R HOF (LA, CA) induction in 2013 (we were there). You can see the performanceS here on YT.
What these half witted, mostly non-reactive fans witnessed 9/3/22 have no idea how privileged they were to be in the crowd.
It was so nice of Rush to bring up a fan on stage to play drums for them.
Best comment. Nicely done.
Kind of disrespectful considering the circumstances.
A shoutout to that time the Foos had a fan come up on stage to sing Tom Sawyer.
@@millennial_falcon2240 No it was disrespectful and selfish for anyone to OD on drugs period end of story

The long rest given to Geddy's voice from not touring has helped it greatly.
He can sing here in ways he hasn't in years.
Also, can you imagine how cool it is for Dave Grohl to play for Geddy and Alex in Neil's spot?
Grohl, is a fan who became a rock star.
I think it's more that he's only playing a short set, and he's not worried about preserving his voice for long tour.
Totally. I bet this meant an awful lot to Dave Grohl. Aside from Neal Peart's status as a rock drummer, Rush are a very, very special band. They are not to everyone's taste, but they have always provided musical excellence and have complete credibility. There is no band like them and it was a joy to see then playing with Dave Grohl - who was excellent.
@@JNPhere I'm not sure which was the bigger moment: Dave Grohl standing in for Neil Peart with Rush, or Geddy Lee standing in for Chris Squire with Yes.
I think I'm with that little kid. "Why not both?"
I was just thinking that! Geddy sounds incredible here
It's not the first time for Dave.
See the RUSH R&R HOF induction ceremony in which Dave and Taylor were chosen by RUSH to present them and then later jammed with them on stage.
I was there (LA, CA) in 2013.
As if this gig weren't poignant enough... The ultimate rock drummer tribute. Taylor was honored. Neil was honored. Dave showed some hair by doing this live with Rush. Geddy and Alex jammed with a dirty edge I had never heard before. It was utterly appropriate and glorious and filthy and fun.
Absolutely correct. This was a beautiful performance.
They also honored John Rutsey, because he was the original drummer that preformed Working Man. It really was an amazing tribute. They also worked in Prince. Is that he symbol on Geddy's guitar???
It dates back to the Time Machine tour when it was used as the U in Rush. It is the symbol for amalgamation, an alchemy symbol.
Boom. Hundo
Out of respect....It's not Rush without Neil...but Geddy and Alex are still other worldly great
I can imagine the professor and Taylor sitting on a cloud together really enjoying Dave's excellent chops.
Yup air drumming 😎😎😎😎😎 This will be a night long remembered. Amazing!
Well said. I know they’re proud.
And John Rutsey too, right? That’s his Working Man drum part
@@MrRoybob Great point! Rutsey too often gets overlooked for the crucial part he played their history. It's not a stretch to say without him, there would be no Rush. Without him helping found and then leave Rush there would be no Alex/Geddy/Neil version of Rush.
I'm pretty sure they're not sitting on the same cloud. I'm sure Peart, Bonham , Moon and Baker are all on one cloud and Hawkins didn't receive an RSVP.
When you have Rush playing at your tribute concert, you did something right.
Edit: as at least one reply rightfully pointed out, Rush is not Rush without Neil ofc, it was just much easier to type lol
South Park confirms this
Dave sitting for the GREAT Neil Peart!! It’s so bittersweet!! Both bands losing their drummers.
When you're subbing for Neil Peart, you've made it.
Absolutely!!!!!
@@Bdub1952 Pretty good line, but I don't think Dave is looking to "make it".
Some people don't know when they're in the presence of legends, musical integrity and true icons.
Dead ass crowd.
yerp
Totally agree. It was bloody embarrassing to see the crowd act like cardboard cutouts when true rock legends grace their presence.
That's a bit unfair to be honest,I love Rush but this is not a Rush gig its a tribute concert.I think the crowd are doing ok considering Rush were never that big in the uk.I feel your pain fan boy but it's not about you or Rush I'm sure you will get over it when you grow up.
agreed. something like Tom Sawyer probably would have appealed more to the crowd, but this show was for Taylor. It was a truly great performance and good to see Geddy and Alex playing again. They did YYZ right after, Dave is an animal on the drums! loved the show!
@@xvola6888 Don't talk what you don't know about, Rush have a big fan base in the UK and on their last tours before Neil's death were playing in full arenas, ignorant comment.
The fact that Dave Grohl can just sit in for Rush is just astounding
You’re right. He did John Rutsey proud
I think people underestimate Dave Groll’s talent. He’s with the greatest
Come on he can sit for anyone 😂😂
it was not exactly perfect. you can tell it was just a bit too much. Still he a badass drummer
Well, sort of. He talented, but he's no Neil Peart
This is really poetic, two bands who lost their drummers coming together.
Too many youngsters. But hey… new future fans
Strangely enough Taylor passed in a country that Neil wrote about so many years ago, Bogota Columbia.
My hat is off to Dave Grohl; sitting in for Neil Peart takes courage!
No shit! He isn't covering Rush.. he's sorta in Rush in this one moment, there's no way you could think that way and remain calm lol
Don't worry, he knows their songs as well as his own. He probably didn't even need to rehearse lol
As a long time Rush fan, I love this. So glad Geddy and Alex have finally been able to play a few Rush songs together both here at Taylor’s tribute and at the Southpark anniversary with Primus. I know there is no way they would perform a full show as a rush again after losing Neil, but these kind of thing are a proper way to do it and honor Neil and others.
I totally agree. It was great to see them play again but it will never be the same w/out Neil. It kills me.
@@deniserossiter1059 Also let's face it, they're old and probably can't sustain this level of effort on a tour anymore, and we really don't want them getting a residency in Las Vegas, do we? At this point we're better off having them pop up and kick ass occasionally, instead of trying to do the grind.
That’s pretty cool !! Nice to smile again! Still have Jedi Skills.
@ghost mall What's nice is that we're getting to hear different notes from them in their respective solo projects. They may never play a note together again as Rush but seeing an Envy of None / Geddy Lee double headliner in the future would be cool.
This works. It requires someone with a high level of skill on the drums, of course, but also someone who loves the music itself and who can connect with Lee and Lifeson. And Dave Grohl did it.
Thank you for sharing! Rush is my all time favorite group ever! I never thought I'd see Geddy and Alex play together again after Neil passed away.
1 million thumbs up!!!
ruclips.net/video/eQ3VjAMD5gA/видео.html
They recently played together at the South Park show at red rocks it was awesome check it out
Is your era the 80s?..mine is..class of '82.. The Trajically Hip is my favorite band ever
They shouldn't have, when u lose an icon like peart,do what zeppelin did, when they lost Bonham, don't they have enough money?
Seeing Taylor's son fill in for him, and Dave fill in for Neil....something cathartic about this whole caper.
I haven’t felt that kind of emotional over music in a long time. This was epic 🤩
I can't wait to see what the next concert in LA looks like!
imagine being Dave and playing that in your room at like 10 y/o then many years later being blessed to actually play with them. I don't think that crowd realizes what they are lucky enough to be a part of .
This performance is much more than great musicians on the same stage, but shows that even after tragedy, the MUSIC is what keeps us all moving forward. Thank you Taylor and Neil forever
Exactly. I was thinking the same thing.
Musician myself, having been absolutely blessed to be there...this was exactly what the whole evening was about. Love of music and love for Taylor, who loved music. Incredibly powerful from beginning to end. All the best!
To everyone under age 40......this is what real music and real talent sound like. What an unbelievable performance!! How good are Alex and Geddy?!?! Dave Grohl is a world-class master musician in his own right, and he was flat out playing his ass off and gave 110% just to keep up playing Neil Peart's song and to match the playing ability of Alex and Geddy. I know Rush will never tour again, but the power and intensity were absolutely incredible.
im 60 fond memories of seeing RUSH at my high school in the Toronto suburbs. next time I saw them was Massey hall and then arenas and stadiums.
"To everyone under 40" Ffs. I know people under 30 who rock with the best of them and people over 50 who like the Carpenters and ABBA. Stop with the ageism.
Never say never. If Queen can tore without Freddie Mercury then Rush can find somebody who can play drums
@@ChrisLawton66 did you mean people under 30 who like the Carpenters and ABBA...and people over 50 who rock with the best of them?
The privilege of being able to play with your idols is unimaginable! I admire the respect Dave has for his masters! Seeing Rush always makes me emotional! Time Stand Still...
Neil and Taylor are smiling 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 Phenomenal! Great job by Dave too! Best part of the whole concert! This performance is a DOUBLE tribute for both Taylor and Neil 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 It doesn't get any better or sweeter!
Dave Grohl has lived one hell of a life but even for him, this must have been one of those "pinch me, am I dreaming" moments!!!
Interesting observation. This whole show…it’s essentially a wake for his best friend. Under any other circumstances, you’d be right as rain. Maybe just for a few minutes, Dave Grohl was thinking about nothing but that he was jamming with his heroes. Just "in the moment". That would be great.
Look at Dave after 2 songs
Neil will never be replaced, of course, but Dave did a fantastic job there. So much energy and I think Geddy and Alex got with that spirit as well.
The admiration between Rush and David and Taylor is immense. The Rush rock and roll hall of fame shows that . We lost our son these past few weeks and we feel the pain of loved ones ..David , you might just make a drummer . Neil would be proud ❤️❤️❤️
So sorry for your loss 😤
Rush on
@@adamwarlock5286 thank you Adam ❤️
Godspeed Sir. Sorry for your loss. Honor your son well.
@@therapist6328 thank you for your kind words 🙏
I think every once in a while we (or maybe it's just me) forget just how good of a drummer Dave is, just because every time we've seen him on stage in the past 20 years, He's had a guitar in his hands. Honestly when I saw "Rush w/ Dave Grohl" and clicked on the video, I was looking for Dave and looked everywhere except behind the kit. It wasn't until the drums started, that I was like '' Oh yea, Daves a drummer..DERP!"
He's a much better drummer than guitar player in my opinion. He's not a bad guitarist by any means, but I think most would agree his playing isn't anything special, just competent. It does the job. If FF continues writing new material I think it would be cool if Dave started doing the drums in studio and getting a touring drummer for live shows.
That's not true. He performed live for at least one entire Queens of the Stone Age tour and plays in Them Crooked Vultures.
@@Beefnhammer doesnt dave write the drums for the foo fighters tracks? That was the impression I got from their documentary called back and forth, although that came out over 10 years ago
@@hendrixj.8356 I'm not sure. He may have, but It's more likely that the final drum track on most songs was a collaborative process between Taylor and Dave. But even if Dave had a hand in writing, he never actually played drums on the albums, that was all Taylor. That's what I meant by "doing the drums"
@@Beefnhammer I think we all saw the guy who's going to end up filling in. He's young but time flies and he's got more than enough talent already. I think it all depends on whether or not that's what he wants to do with his life.
Sitting in for The Professor would have been Taylor’s dream gig.
Glad to see DG do it with such gusto and making the most of it ...
Geddy Lee..his voice is still so brilliant and Alex always blew my mind on guitar..Dave I believe Neil and Taylor are having a blast and right beside you...much love
Probably the least enthusiastic crowd reaction to 2112 in the past 40 years! Dave did a decent job with it.
Perhaps the majority of the audience were to young to know who Rush were???
1. the crowd are prodominantly foo fans and
2. dave G didnt have the 20 drum and 30 symbal kit that neil used 😆
Yea they were clueless, unfortunate, but I enjoyed it!
Yeah, they're 100% not a Rush crowd . I'd imagine 80% there would never know who they are.....their loss but it was a pop crowd.
London crowds can be weird sometimes.Just depends what side of bed they get out of that day.
Dave playing with RUSH.....Taylor would be so happy watching that!
glad both songs were tributes to the fallen drummers of Rush R.I.P. John and Neil and Taylor
I have to believe that this was therapeutic for Dave. Thanks for Geddy and Alex for being a part of this event.
Grohl was living the dream of every garage band drummer who ever was.
I loved the part where Geddy stepped up to the mic to say a few words, and his bass guitar accidentally smacked against the mic stand, and it still sounded like the most Geddy Lee thing ever.
Time? In the beginning I didn't listen any sound
This is so awesome to see! I was at the 2nd last show in Toronto totally unaware that I would never see Rush perform live again. First Les Claypool gets Geddy and Alex on stage again and now Dave Grohl does it. These are special performances and so special for fans and the guys themselves.
Props to the lighting tech on this. This is how we had to do it in the old days. The lighting director here is not able to just set a computer program and let fly, he is having to operate a "piano board" in real time. There are "chases" he can use in a few places, but other than that he has to know about a second in advance what scene he is gonna shift to. It is extremely stressful and exhilarating if you pull it off....but nobody notices. I noticed. Good job!
This Here Was Totally Awesome, Dave playing Drums for Rush, R.I.P. To , Neil Peart, And Taylor Hawkins, they were both in Their Prime When they left This World, Cousin Figel
It's really great to see Alex and Geddy coming out to play for these shows (this and South Park concert). We really don't know how much of them we'll get to see live these days, so every occasion is a real treat.
In every occasion I lean towards Rush being the best on stage even in such a prestigious line ups, but on this occasion Shane Hawkins was unbelievable a proud and fitting tribute to his father.
Shane beat the hell out of that drum kit. Way to follow in your father's footstep
Thank you for posting this!! That kicked ass and my dudes from Rush still got it. Dave did great - Rush nation thanks you! Sad that the crowd doesn’t get what a treat that performance was (apparently my people were right in front of the person filming this).
They were probably more Foo fans than Rush fans per se, though you'd think given Dave & Taylor inro'ed Rush into the RnR HoF they's at least be aware of the band.
That’s what I was thinking too… This is the intro to 2112 so why are you still talking?
I think the crowd gets it listen to the cheering
@@bryanlasermagiktyler3132 I have the opposite interpretation. I don’t think the crowd got it at all look at the crowd while the song is playing. Nobody has their hands up nobody’s jamming out.
I really appreciate Dave Grohl organizing this tribute for Taylor & would welcome Geddy & Alex doing the same for Neil. What a great celebration & memorial.
Yeah it turned out to be a double tribute for Taylor and Neil with this performance 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎😎
Dave is such a huge Rush fan and so was Taylor. Having their idols pay tribute too a fallen fan was so sweet.
God, this is music on another level. Lee and Lifeson sounding better than ever, fully re-charged! And I've now realised what an amazing drummer Grohl is. He's truly up there with the greatest drummers of all time. It would be good to see a tour with these 3, as Grohl's thunderous style brings a new flavour to Rush. They'll never be another Neil Peart of course (my favourite drummer of all time!) But there's something special here too going on!
Thunderous is the perfect way to describe this! I LOVED every bit of it and would sell a kidney to see it on tour in some form!! OMFG.
No, he's not up there. Nowhere near.
@@bobbybishop368 Well he's nearer than you or I. Maybe you can tell Lee & Lifeson what you think.
@@PrettyRecords maybe I can. I hope they're reading these comments......truly up there my ass.....you've gave me a good laugh this morning. Thank you.
I will admit that he puts on a great show. That being said, there is nothing awesome about him musically. He's an ok drummer, a so so guitarist, a mediocre singer and his songs, although loaded with catchy hooks, are lyrically bland and third rate. Neil Peart he ain't.
@@bobbybishop368 Sadly Neil Peart is no longer with us. He was my favourite ever drummer too. But both bands lost great drummers (although you probably don't rate Taylor Hawkins either right?) Anyhow, this is like a memorial for both bands loss and I'm sorry you can't see it like that. It's not an occasion about who's better than who. I happen to think this rocks hard and you seem to be the only one that doesn't like it. Like I say, I don't think Lee & Lifeson would have taken to the stage with Grohl unless he was capable. But If you don't like it, best not to watch it again eh.
This Dave Grohl is a monster on drums! Is there anything that this man can't do... OMG...
You do know he was the drummer for Nirvana, right?
Jose Prosper - Yeah…he can’t get out of his own way sometimes
@@nazfrde Sure! But he was playing Neil Peart right there, very impressive...
@@nazfrde who doesn't know that?
I think the kid's got a future!
Dave is a musical machine. To play drums and guitar at such a high level is certainly a rare thing.
Regret that I only saw Rush twice over our lifetimes. They've been my favorite since the first time I heard the spirit of radio on the radio in junior high. Rest in peace Professor, and you as well Taylor.
Brought tears in my eyes - I love this band called Rush
and such great nice guys! In the late 70’s I had a recurring dream that they came to my house for dinner. True story.
This is so special for so many reasons. Rip Neil and Taylor, you'll never be forgotten.
It's great to hear the two guys once again playing together and, if only just for one very very long moment, treating all of their fans to the sight and sound of them performing their iconic songs. Although I always kept a glimmer of hope in my mind, I was prepared for the fact that the loss of Neil would only mean the end of a long and wonderful road for a living RUSH. What a glorious resurrection indeed!!
I'm sure there were plenty of tears of joy in the building. 😂
Awesome. The long break has done wonders for Geddy’s voice. He has sounded that good in a long time. I wonder if it’s strange for Alex and Geddy to look back and not see Neil?
You know it
Agreed on all accounts
It was the same at the South Park anniversary show.
they know it's not neil, just by the drum-playing.
Neil was perfect. They didn’t call him the professor for nothing. Find a vid of him fucking up. You can’t. I only saw Rush once on the R40 tour and it was beyond amazing. I love Dave but he has a totally different style than Neil. Geddy and Alex are great, but without Neal it’s just not the same. Glad to see them still playing in any event. RIP Taylor and Neil!
Alex and Geddy still sound amazing even at 69 years old... this is how you do it.... what I would have given to be in the audience... I would have been more lively at 59 than what I see in the crowd... #RushArmy....
I saw Rush in concert Five different times over the years!
Working Man has always been one of my favorite songs!
O. M. G. Ged and Al. The solos Working Man…mind blowing! 🤯
As always, those of us in the know, that were either streaming it live(me)or there live in person, GET IT. Most don’t and never will, but I GUARANTEE that a majority of the musicians throughout the backstage area GET IT, AND attendees in that mass of 75,000+ who were maybe NOT initiated, DEFINITELY were after that performance. Rush is, was, and always will be the standard to which the REAL musicians hold themselves up to.❤️🤘🖖✌️🥁🎸🎤🎹🥇🇨🇦🎼👌👍
I disagree, the crowd was totally with them, don’t forget they had been there for probably 5+ hours at this point. But still, plenty of enthusiasm and support in my opinion
I feel quite fortunate seeing Rush in ‘75 in Detroit and many shows in Dallas from the ‘80s to the 2000 something. Amazing unforgettable every time. Mesmerizing! Mr Piert RIP🙏
Amazing tribute- Taylor and Neil are smiling. Geddy and Alex are amazing here so great to see and hear them roaring!! Dave Grohl is simply an amazing human and freak musician, we are lucky to be experiencing him and this. Wow. Thank you God for these gifts. RIP Taylor and Neil. 🙏
Dave is a phenomenal drummer. Amazing. But this clip sheds light on how truly special Neil Peart was.
and keep in mind that Neil decided how to play each song and he not only rehearsed but also played the songs 100's of times ! Dave did his very best and put a lot of effort into doing his very best for this 9 1/2 minute song . and YES Neil has is on style of drumming on a HUGE kit and YES he was a very talented drummer !
Neil was special no doubt. The problem with Dave playing on this song is that he hits the drums too hard. Everything is a thud. A drum doesn't need to be beaten like rental car in order to make a good sound. Dave and a handful of other great drummers from his generation don't seem to get that...
@@diverdave4056 Absolutely. Dave is incredible and did an amazing job. And there will never be someone like Neil Peart, but I imagine Nirvana wouldn't sound quite right with Neil drumming too!
@@Charleybones Watch Dave's SNL appearance with Tom Petty, even though the song he played with him was a rocker, I think Dave was maybe too much for that group.
Yep, Neil played the drums so fluidly and smoothly that he was like an oiled machine. Nobody comes close (but I appreciate that they try). ❤️ Neil.
Such a bittersweet moment. Both bands lost their drummers. Much respect and great job from Dave in giving his own take on Neil’s drum parts and honoring Taylor who was a massive Rush fan as Dave was. Great to see Alex and Geddy once again. Long live Rush. RIP Taylor and Neil.
rush is doing the perfect thing. having guest drummers for different occasions; but carrying on !
So proud of my Canadian brothers, rock on Taylor, rock on Neil ! Rush forever !
Neil Pert would have been proud. Grohl did a brilliant job. Just a pity most probably half the crowd does'nt know who Rush is:)Thanks for sharing.
They do now....
Dude Rush is not an underground band lol, they were fuckin huge and still are imo
Umm, Dave is a huge Rush fan. I can picture teenage Dave In the garage at his parents house learning this song. So, he knows this song by muscle memory.
My biggest concert regret never seeing NP or Rush live. Bought all their catalog though. 2112 blew my mind when I first sat down with headphones and listened. Still my favorite album. So much to love from them...
It's awesome seeing Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson playing together again. :)
Dave did a great job. Big shoes to fill.
For the fans that knew, this was an awesome event. It's sad that this is how we get to see the boys again, but it was good to see them still alive and kicking. Bravo for a great tribute!
This both hurts my heart and rocks at the same time. RIP Professor and Taylor, we miss you.
legendary for so many different reasons and emotions.🤘
just shows how underground Rush were.

Them Crooked Vultures
@@hulkgreen4008 How could I forget?!! I saw them. Dave was a monster. At the end of the show Josh said, this will be our last song and people boo'd (in good fun) but Dave jumped up and came to the front of the stage looking around like a crazy man.. He didn't know what was going on and wasn't going to do anything until the "problem" was fixed. When he found out, he laughed and sat back down at the drums and said into his mic: "Sorry, I've never been boo'd before, it freaked me out".
Dave Grohl literally living the dream.
I absolutely love Dave Groll and he is an excellent drummer, to be sure! Neal was just other worldly! Thanks Dave for stepping in. It’s so terrible that both bands lost there drummers. Dave is a wonderful drummer and person. Thanks for honoring both men.
What an awesome job by Dave Grohl~! he gave it his all and did an awesome job! pretty hard to replace the best drummer the world has ever seen~!! but much respect to all the legends up on that stage!~
The best live Trio I have ever seen. The wall of sound that Neil, Geddy & Alex created over the years was incredible. I loved seeing them live in concert.
Epic !! The mutual admiration of Rush and Foo Fighters over the years makes this special 😀 Rush s induction into the Hall of Fame was carried out by Taylor and Dave and their enthusiasm at that event was evident for all ! Shame the crowd don’t get it but decades of mainstream radio ignorance to Rush from 1975 onwards explains this 😕 To those who know and those who have enjoyed their journey over 40 years this was EPIC ! Thanks for posting 😌
Spot on!!
I don’t know what is more emotional about this show for me. Seeing Dave break down whilst singing “Times Like These,” or seeing Alex and Geddy back together on stage.
Dave did an extremely decent job here. It's not an easy song to play. Fantastic tribute to both drummers who were taken away way too soon. And of course, the boys still kicking it at almost 70 yrs of age. Insane !
Rush lives! Some damn big shoes that Dave is doing a fine job of filling.
Yeah, filling them full of shit.
Superb to see Alex and Geddy playing live again; pity so many of the audience just didn't get it but Taylor Hawkins spoke highly of 2112 and Moving Pictures in TV documentaries about those albums.
Many many years ago when you would go to see RUSH for $7 or $8 bucks and you were a hard working man and you were out for a night of partying with your friends spending your hard earned money to have some cold beers, smoke a few doobies and go watch this hard working Rock and Roll band in some work town usually smaller arena back then and they finally played
“Working Man” you knew that this was for you by them for them, you, all of us hard working men, women of the world and it’s the song that gets right into your sole of who you are and what your are. It is still one of their greatest songs ever. It’s great to see them playing again and I’m sure it probably making one of Dave’s dreams come true. He’s playing hard and I think Neil would be proud of him because he was a drummer who always gave his best, his all as another hard working man beating those drums.
I’ll probably never get to personally get to see them ever again in person if they continue to play due to my health but will love this band forever. I will certainly enjoy their videos though. To All of You Hard Working Men and Women of the World out there keep Rockin it O!🐢
I love hearing a drummer who is literally almost the polar opposite of Peart play that song. It’s a totally different thing and it’s kinda beautiful.
That’s the best tone Geddy’s had in many years.
Love Rush. Love Dave. Amazing. Neil and Taylor are looking down happy.
Probably the first time Geddy and Alex have ever played this without Neil. What a tribute to Taylor.Rock on all you kick ass drummers up there!
Not crying... Got something in my eye. 😢 😏 Great job by Dave Grohl. Love seeing Alex and Getty playing together again. RIP Neil Taylor.
This song hit me like an absolute brick wall, the energy they all brought to it was genuinely breathtaking!
Major goosebumps when I saw this live broadcast! RUSH rules.
I saw Rush from the 3rd row of the Hollywood Bowl, with Geddy literally playing right in front of me. Simply awesome!!
They need to go on tour with this.
Can you believe this?! Rush forever ! Thank you Dave.
That was Awesome. First live Rush fix for me in 7 years since I saw them at the R40 tour
Quite simply the most incredible performance of the concert for me…. There aren’t many who can step in for Neil, but Dave did a beautiful job!
Favorite band’s favorite band. Perfect description.
Two legendary bands that lost their legendary drummers. The nerve of Dave Grohl to get Geddy and Alex back together on stage without Neil, plus play drums? You can cut the mutual respect with a knife. Bravo.
Thank you for share this precious moment
Wow 🙂🙂 that put a smile on my face 🙂🙂..
Magic thanks Geddy Alex Dave
Didn't realize Geddy and Alex were at this great tribute. Never thought I'd see them on stage together again. Made me think about the one time Taylor played with Geddy and Alex after a drum solo at a FF concert. Geddy's voice was as good as during his touring days.
Thanks for posting this.
dave gave his all. great show
Rush and the Foo Fighters have a long history and respect for each other..... the Foo Fighters introduced Rush into the R&R hall of fame....
They have played together multiple times
I would love to hear Dave talk about this particular moment of his life.
