Hi Alyssa. Loved this video. I also love the fact that you had to be a wheelchair tennis player. I played competitive wheelchair tennis myself for about 15 years. I never played in Japan but did play against Japanese wheelchair tennis players; there weren't that many when I was competing, and probably still aren't, so can see why they needed to turn you into one :)
That's amazing! After that job I went on a binge of wheelchair tennis and I think it's one of the most impressive (and fun to watch) things I've ever seen!
That first modeling story was so funny and then when you’re like “my face exists where my face is” 🤣🤣 almost woke my baby up laughing at that one. You have great natural humor! 😂
Haha they are huge! I link my laptop up to my monitor via usb-c cable and they appear super sized on the monitor! I don't really mind though cause I think it's kind of funny!
Thanks for the insight into this industry. That worst-job story reminded me of having to stay back in the office until 1am. Thankfully it was only a once-off for you. Someone posted the camera product in the comments and your tennis game looks decent. It would be cool if Canon got you back for their next global shutter camera launch, especially if they are going after the sports segment.
Great stories! I can definitely see you being a model. Do you still play tennis? I used to play tennis too, not as serious as you did though. I didn’t pursue it after high school.
your story about the wheelchair tennis gig was funny. you're a good story teller! i have a question though: how did you attend the early morning shoots while going to language school? i thought most classes were in the morning (e.g. my classes start at 9am). Also, i thought the russian girl had somewhere to go to. How did she stay until 1am for the shoot 🤔😆
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 Thank you for taking time to share with us your experience and give us so much details and tell us how the reality actually is. I’m in the video industry and yes, waiting hours doing nothing is part of the deal, like shooting many takes and just appear for like a second or two on screen. I would love to see the Canon commercial.
I feel like I’d never get chosen for a modeling job, not bc I’m ugly, but because I don’t have any “sexy” hobbies like tennis and I don’t wear makeup… My special talents are juggling (only 3), writing, a duck impression, and speaking German (on top of EN/JP), I wonder if any of that nerdy stuff is in demand 😅
Noooo!!! girl! I am terrified just listening to your worst hand model job experience😡 no food, no wifi and until 3am!? That experience puts being professional to a whole another level.. So sorry this happened to you❤
Hii I loved your video and I myself will be going to Japan next year for a 6 month work and travel experience and I have been thinking to try out modelling but I was wondering Waht kind of Japanese would be necessary especially during the jobs and shootings? Are the commercial and acting jobs in japanese?
Just curious, have you met Anton from @AntoninJapan in a modelling setup? Interesting dive into a world most of us never glimpsed. I should apply, you never know when there might be a job in need of a Gollum... 😉 (just kidding. I'm more in the Bruce Willis type... 😂) I'm also kind of a little pissed off, as I can't help but think that that Russian model meant to screw you up (based on your description of your interaction)🐶
Dear Foreign Residents Please be really careful of heat stroke from June to September in Japan! The abnormal weather of the last few years has come to Japan. Midsummer is hot and humid, with many days of 38°C to 40°C🥵🥵. In midsummer, Japanese TV news will warn you not to go out unnecessarily day after day. Conversely, it makes sense that Japanese people eat only cold soba noodles, somen noodles, and shaved ice in mid-summer🔥.
I'm wondering when you can usually expect to hear if you actually got the job after you give the first keep response? Or do you just have to show up on the day and find out then? Sorry if this is a dumb question!
On one of my jobs there was a girl who had a full sleeve, and the makeup department spent an hour using heavy spray makeup to cover them all up! Soooo maybe!!

Hahaha! Thank you so much! It's funny now even though I it wasn't funny at the time!
@@Lyssakay I feel like that’s how a lot of life is. The funniest things aren’t that funny in the moment lol
I've never seen desktop icons this big :D Also, interesting stories!
Haha they are huge! I link my laptop up to my monitor via usb-c cable and they appear super sized on the monitor! I don't really mind though cause I think it's kind of funny!
thanks for sharing the life of a model! you are part of the top 2%, nice! ganbaro!

That was really interesting thank you!
I would love to see the Jpop music video you mentioned... see if i could spot you !
Wow. So hand modeling isn’t the insanely easy job everyone thinks it is. Good stories
The tennis job sounds so much like Lost in Translation !
'Lodger Moore'
'More, intensity'
Very true! I love that movie.
oh man, those stories sound insane, especially the waiting on the 2nd one... thank you for sharing about this type of job, it was really interesting
You are just a breath of fresh air. Love to hear your stories!
Guess it's tough out there, even for models. Thanks for the info!
Also, nice Frieren background!
Frieren is my latest obsession!
Interesting video, thanks! Guessing your ad was for the 'Canon PowerShot Pick' (the ads on RUclips) 🎾
I was an extra in a mini series filmed in my hometown, and I learn what it meant for hurry up and wait. Waiting around was unreal...
Great stories! I can definitely see you being a model. Do you still play tennis? I used to play tennis too, not as serious as you did though. I didn’t pursue it after high school.

Can you tell us what's the music video? I wanna watch it heheh :)
I want to see the music video now!

Interesting and funny story. I love it. :)
Great video, I loved it. I don't know if I could work as a model after hearing your terrible experience, haha. Thank you for sharing.
Yippee!
Those desktop icons are so big, how do they not fall down!?!
Sounds like a fun gig to get into.

So the regular tennis stroke doesn't look good on camera(thinking it was a photo) but then it turns out to be a video lol? Yippee!
I would have been dumbfounded lol
Do you still play tennis often in Japan?
OK. I'm not moving to Japan to be a hand model. Damn
😅
One question, did you wear oven mittens between takes on your handmodeling-gig 🤡
I probably would have been like yippee ki yay mother. . . . and that would be the end of my Japanese modeling career.
Ohh I wonder what Steam games you have?
I don't want to be a model in Japan at this time, I'm only interested in Alyssa, and some Japan, and other..
what if im tatted up, think i have a chance lol.
On one of my jobs there was a girl who had a full sleeve, and the makeup department spent an hour using heavy spray makeup to cover them all up! Soooo maybe!!
You know python?
"hey Alyssa how are you doing?" hahahahahaha
luckily you didnt have to move the wheelchair while playing tennis haha
Being a hand model sounds rough but 😂😂😂😂😂
Scar Jo is not tall enough to be runway... :)
Instructions unclear, joined a cult...
