That mega wedding impress me Ashikage
Super fascinating video! I don’t plan on moving but I’ve been taking Japanese for a few years. It’s cool to see what living there is like
10 holiday days is mad... I have had over 50 before!! 28 days + 7 bank holidays + 1 week long service + 1 week carry over + buy 1 week (tax relief on cost too so cheaper than taking a week unpaid) - Most i've managed is about 50 ish fully paid days off. Sick pay i used to have a sick deal which was 6 months fully paid, next 6 basic government sick pay. Retail telco job, nothing crazy. I literally couldn't move somewhere with less holiday time.
9:36 LOL XD LOL XD i thought only non native speakers make that kind of mistakes, now i am more annoyed at duolingo for not accepting this kind of typos XD LOL
1:23 are there any difference between ice coffe latte アイスカフェラテ and ice coffe au lait アイスカフェオレ in machines like this? (i'm not a coffee drinker, so i only know the milkier french version according to google, but i guess i wouldn't notice the difference)
Wow what a beautiful unique wedding! The musical talent was next level! Thanks for sharing!!
Wow, that's a impressive production !
Im so glad you didn't have an envelope mishap.
who's next, sarah or Chris & Sharla?
was it chris broad wearing the priest costume lol?
Slow down. Embrace the differences
Lyssa, thank you for sharing such a cool and charming wedding! Clearly a lot of thought and preparation went into the wedding, and undoubtedly the bride and groom had a lot of fun planning everything. May they stay happily married and prosper! 😊
Thank you for sharing your wedding experience and thank you to Haruka and her family for letting us see their cute wedding! I loooove the singing.
Det background noises is very annoing.
The pup ring bearer!
Weddings are humiliating in the west already, in the east they sound horrifying.
Thank you for sharing Lyssa. The whole event sounds super well organised and the musical gender reveal was amazing 🤩 Best wishes to the bride & groom.
What a cool and wholesome wedding!! I love when couples nerd out and bring what they enjoy into the festivities
Many thanks to your friends for sharing this beautiful occasion with us. Congratulations and all happiness to them.
9:39 in most European countries is the same. You get married officially in a notary or something similar and later you can have your religious wedding at a church or a non religious wedding ceremony wherever you want, but you are already legally married.
Wow that is a very beautiful and amazing experience you had. I’ve never heard of a dog being the ring bearer, used to it being someone’s kid 😂 also was different not seeing a cake. Shoutout to your newly wed friends!
the beauty and the beast song rendition was insane haha so cool
After 20 minutes I realised I'm watching this and taking mental notes as if I'm soon about to attend a Japanese wedding 😂 Thanks Alyssa, that was beautiful and if I ever get to have a wedding it gave me some great ideas.
great video 👸🏻🤴🏼and the dachshund always in the middle, soooooo cute ❤
Loved this video. Everyone is so respectful in Japan. Here in Australia, weddings are often a bit of a Slut fest 😂 I worked for years at a place that hosted weddings regularly and it wasn't always so sweet and innocent Really refreshing seeing the Japanese celebrate an important day❤
Now I know why karaoke is so popular in Japan.
always with the off beat super interesting videos. That wedding looked awesome!
That's a lot of money to have to gift!!! 😳 if you're not in a financial place to gift that amount, I'm guessing you make up a reason why you can't go? Lol super interesting though! I love to hear the cultural differences!
I was thinking that... over here in California thinking about just picking an affordable item off of peoples' wedding registries being so much simpler...
What a sweet vlog post today. Had me tearing up a few times. I have some good memories associated with weddings in Japan. My wife and I had a Shinto ceremony at Nashinoki Jinja, a small shrine adjacent to the Kyoto Imperial Palace. We had our ceremony the first Saturday in April with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. We filled out paperwork to add my name to her family registry a few months before. It was a fairly simple, rustic, and lovely ceremony! She wore an all-white kimono during the ceremony and I wore the traditional men's haori and hakama. She changed to a colorful kimono after the ceremony for photos. And then I think she changed again into something more comfortable and western and we had lunch at a nearby restaurant with a set menu for about 20 or so guests, all booked in advance, of course. The following day we had a bigger reception party at a cafe in downtown Osaka. I think altogether this cost us about ¥200,000 (roughly $2,000) to reserve all the venues and pay the priest, and about half the expense was the rental fee for our wedding attire. It was way cheaper than renting out a wedding chapel, actually. Attendees paid for their set menus for whichever receptions they attended. Another memory of my life in Japan is that I had a side hustle of moonlighting as a wedding minister. It's exactly as Lyssa describes. I was not ordained and it was all pretty much just for show. I did conduct the ceremonies in Japanese, though. My Japanese isn't very good, but I memorized the script, and I typed it out for myself with furigana so that I could refer to it from a print-out in an official-looking folder I held during the ceremonies. I just wore a very formal-looking black suit with essentially a choir robe and minister's sash over it. I still have that suit. It's a very good quality one that I bought from a men's formal wear store in Japan. I think I was paid something like ¥10,000 per gig, plus travel expenses? That was a kinda fun way to earn a little extra cash.
An adorable couple and wonderful event! I actually teared up a little at the gender reveal, and normally I am not a fan of those. Thanks for all of your videos, they always brighten my day.
I would like to attend one, sure! That sounds fun! They had a beautiful wedding, congrats to them and their family ♥
Too gorgeous for this video quality. </3
This is like a sh**ty version of a really bad Disney musical. Other than that, you look gorgeous as always.
There is something wrong with you. It was wonderful.
Good thing this wasn't your wedding! 😒 why even say something rude? 😮💨🤦🏽♀️
bro what
Really? Good grief
I was interested about this, because I have been in Korean wedding and as you said there might be two different parts like Korean style and then later European style or something taken from both. I remember color of letter, because I heard it about from Chris' video. And as funny thing I watched one anime series video where the price was exactly same (30 000yen). The end part with singing story and balloons felt really special.
Oh! You dream it?
Very informative video Lyssa, thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I moved to Japan 7 months ago and I’m out here trying hard to find a job, specifically in IT! So, I was very surprised when you said you actually work in the IT field! Now, I know you said in the video that you don’t want to mention your job company, but is there any other half foreign half Japanese companies thats are similar to the company you work for? My Japanese is basic so trying to apply for a full Japanese company is extremely complicated 😣 any help is GREATLY appreciated! 💯

How do families come to Japan with school-going children?
With your humour I expected you to put lyrics on the songs after saying you wouldn't 😂
Looks like Disneyline.😂
