    In Fallout: New Vegas, there was always something that bugged me. The missed opportunity of a Mr. House/BoS alliance. I think if it were possible, then the Mr. House ending to the game would be flawless. This concept is actually something that was originally in the game, but was cut. Presumably, it’s because the devs thought it was too out of character for Mr. House to compromise with the BoS, given that he clearly makes it a point to the Courier that he thinks very negatively of them and that leaving them alive would only serve to impede progress, since he deems it a possibility that they would interfere with his plans because of his advanced tech. House disapproves of the BoS, describing them as “unstable techno-fetishists who think all Pre-war technology belongs to them”. It’s understandable as to why he feels this way, since Mr. House and the Brotherhood clearly have very conflicting ideologies.
    However, an alliance or more accurately, a contract with the BoS could be very beneficial. Assuming the Courier has already done all of their quests, including Veronica’s, and having kept Elder McNamara in control of course. This stands to be a substantial improvement to the Brotherhood in terms of being more open to negotiation and consultation. With the Courier acting as a mediator, it’d become possible to reach an amicable agreement where the BoS and Mr. House benefit from one another. The Brotherhood could continue their missions in locating promising technologies, while providing contributions to House if needed, while he agrees to supply the Brotherhood with high quantities of power and resources. It’d be enough for them to be able to go through some significant upgrades and expansions. The BoS could possibly renovate and restore the other bunkers that are scattered around Hidden Valley into a state that they could be made use of again. Of course, this would take a lot of work, and that’s an understatement. A large amount of time and effort would certainly be required in order for them to be able to pull this off. The construction would still be a viable option though, given the fact that if the Courier sides with House, and then after the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, the major stability in the region would be at an all-time high. This would enable the BoS to be able to recruit new members to build up their army and scribes if need be. Obviously, at the beginning of the the game, the BoS has a very narrow outlook on the people of the Mojave, they didn’t want any outsiders entering the bunker, and for good reason. However by the end of the game, I believe they’d become a lot more open to it, due to the Courier’s involvement, and the impact he/she had on them, especially if they’ve become idolized by the Brotherhood. So, with their bunkers and technology, they could set up more operations. This sort of cooperation with the Courier and Mr. House would guarantee and result in not only the goals for the future that House already had planned, but also the ideals of the BoS being brought to fruition. It would lay down the foundation for victory and unstoppable technological progress/innovation, for both sides. Now I will admit, I’m not sure on whether or not the Brotherhood Codex would even allow for this whole situation, as it does sound VERY far-fetched. But given the circumstances, they could become more content with the state of affairs. That’s a big maybe though, and remember that this is only a speculation on what might’ve been.
    Anyway, Mr. House and the Courier, being that they are of a different stripe, have enough foresight to know that the Brotherhood may become a liability eventually. In that case, the Courier would simply go and deal with them, same as he would normally. A level 50 Courier after the 2nd Battle of HD working under Mr. House would certainly be able to do so, given how overpowered the Courier has become. He/she would inform Mr. House of this, letting him know that this contract with the BoS he’d be forming wouldn’t be problematic, and instead would stand as a fruitful opportunity for the Brotherhood of Steel to be of use to him, rather than as an enemy. And that if they did become an enemy, the Courier would destroy them for him. Besides, the Securitron army has already been upgraded. So, despite Mr. House’s insistence to eliminate them, this would be enough to convince him to negotiate and come to an agreement. Mr. House knows that the Mojave chapter of the BoS are not equal to him, but through this alliance they’d be an asset to him. Even while unknown variables and the potential to lose power and influence tend to frustrate Mr. House greatly, he’d concede with the Courier and the BoS. When it comes to Veronica, I’m certain that she’d approve of the whole situation, given how at odds she was with the Codex, and her expression of frustration with the Brotherhood. The peace with NCR and Mr. House would serve to ease Veronica's worries about the Brotherhood's future, and come as some relief, given how determined she was to lead the Mojave Brotherhood down a better path.
    Afterwards, this new Mr. House/BoS would prove to be the dominant force in the Mojave. Robert House could still act out his grand plan for civilization (expanding from the Free Economic Zone of New Vegas), and the Brotherhood could still uphold their ideals. Brotherhood patrols would begin patrols along major roads, monitoring trade along I-15 and 95, seizing any items of technology they’d deem inappropriate.
    Later on, I think it’s also possible that they could eventually ally the Enclave Remnants and integrate them into the new state of things (with the Courier’s help of course). The Enclave Remnants have lots of technology in their bunker, which could be mass-produced or otherwise used for improvements for the factions. Plus, that’s yet another bunker that the BoS could thrive and establish itself in. After all, their tech has lots of similarities to BoS and so naturally it’d work. Everything considered, the Mojave Wastleland would be forever changed for the betterment of society. The people would flourish with civilization, and New Vegas becomes a bigger community. Caesar’s Legion is driven out of the Mojave, and the NCR would have to come to terms with everything that’s going on. They’d just have to deal with it and accept that the region isn’t under their control. Despite everything, the Courier still comes to be idolized by the NCR before siding with House inevitably. Being that Mr. House has no hostility towards the NCR, they could still do dealings with them. And due to their temporary truce, the Brotherhood would allow the NCR to retreat from the Mojave Wasteland without incident. Even after everything that’s happened, the NCR continues to thrive.
    Meanwhile, the Tunnelers would arrive in the Mojave. With the Courier, Mr. House’s Securitrons, BoS, and Enclave Remnants all working together, they’d surely be able to burn away the threat of Tunnelers permanently. They wouldn’t even stand a chance. Their dominance of the Divide would be destroyed when the Mojave factions come storming in, wiping out any threat in their path. Perhaps the Courier would now reunite with Ulysses, and become companions, leading the way as they eviscerate all Tunnelers. And if Mr. House ever gets put out of commission somehow, the Courier can succeed him as a leader, and the plan for the future of mankind can continue. Despite having to destroy the Brotherhood, Robert Edwin House is probably the best choice for the future of mankind.

    • @retrohanska4441
      @retrohanska4441 3 года назад +18

      I think that's the reason why Obsidian cut this option from the game. Without that problem siding with House would be almost objectively the best option. He's likely the smartest character in the continent he's managed to turn savage tribes into thriving businessmen, he's not stuck in the past like NCR or Caesar, he has means to actually repair the America and he usually seems to avoid the violent solution as much as possible and doesn't want to destroy factions if he can form mutual business relationship with them. We have been shown both Legion and NCR have stretched themselves too thin and don't have well-being of Mojave citizen in their best interests and Ulysses basically shows how player character is walking time bomb and can just as easily destroy the same people he has previously helped. If House ending could be achieved without destroying any other faction, none of the other three could even compare.
      That being said, I think this would be more realistic scenario. If BoS can be talked into helping NCR, same factions that destroyed then and drove into exile underground, they can be persuaded into working together with House instead trying to steal his technology. And House is definitely smart enough to know that. Fallout 1 canon ending already is that its BoS chapter became R&D lab and they would be most capable people to assist House in in his technological pursuits in the whole wasteland. No faction besides maybe Enclave renmants understand pre-war technology like them and now House has 2 pawns, player and Veronica in that faction and same pawns are also responsible for BoS-NCR alliance and thus both factions are indepted to them and to some extent to House. If he took advantage of that opportunity he would already have huge influence over the whole chapter.

    • @SayokoNeeeeeee
      @SayokoNeeeeeee 3 года назад +8

      This brotherhood of steel is different from the brotherhood that we know of in fallout 3, this branch is hoarders they don't care about people and the wasteland, what they want is to hoard weapons and fulfil their self interest.
      He knew there's no talking to them since well... He's a walking talking pre war technology that BoS wants to hoard, they openly kill charity organizations without remorse just because of a unjustified paranoia that Veronica will open secrets.
      Very opposite of the friendly and honorable people of the fallout 3.

    • @wyattwelton8599
      @wyattwelton8599 3 года назад +11

      @@SayokoNeeeeeeeAll good points. The thing is if you follow the NCR path you can actually get the BoS to work with them willingly. It shows they are flexible in their beliefs and can work with outsiders.
      I understand that at its core the BoS is only out to secure technology but they do it for the better. I def rather have them have helios one and not use it than the NCR or Ceaser legion get it. Also, it's not like House has the craziest sophisticated weapons. He's very smart and has a robot army, but that's it.
      I think if Mr.House, the courier, and the elder had a sit down they would realize how much common ground they have, plus maybe creating a mutually beneficial relationship. Killing off the second most advanced faction in the Mojave seems like a waste of resources on Mr. house's part. Especially with how small their actual forces are.

      Like house says the BOS dont go raiding hospitals for auto docs they prefer the technology that puts people in hospital. Even if an unlikely deal with the BOS could be reached, theres no guarantee they would honor it for the long term. Mr. House quest line is kinda stupid. Just think about it, why he has a conflict with BoS? BoS is actually dying by itself, Mr. House could make them dependable on his tech and resources, the guy controls energy in Mojave, BoS needs much of it... they could trade tech, they both are enemies for NCR...
    Why Mr. House does not care about Freeside? He tells that he he was limited in resources, but with the chip, fort and Eldorado station and Hoover Dam his resources are close to limitless. The Kings would be a nice addition to Strip families, are nt them? They keep order in Freeside, as much as they can, they are loyal to the King...another enemy of NCR. Also by annexing Freeside Mr. House could drive out the Followers, which are good guys, but anarchists naturally.
    Or why not civilize Great Khans like Mr. House did with Strip families? Also an enemy of NCR.
    Mr. House should be a Caesar of his kind. He is actual quest line is just dull.
