You don’t know how screwed over I felt as a kid. I thought the tv broke or something and that I missed the secret formula. Turns out we all got punked.
Same here, lmao! 🤣 I'm literally crying tears right now remembering how much I audibly screamed and complained to my mother (God bless her for putting up with my goofy ass growing up, lol) as a child when that cutoff happened. Such an iconic episode! 🤣
For real, even normally cartoons would cut out a second or two too short to jump cut to credits, cutting off a music sting or a character mid-sentence at the end of the episode because of strict scheduling forcing it to tick over slightly early. So to see that realized in that abrupt-cut made it feel 100x more "WHAT" factor as a kid :p Because that *was* a thing that happened infrequently. It's genius, and something that can really only be done a few times before it's a copy-cat move. Even the Sopranos infamous abrupt cut to black was in 2007, Spongebob did it well before, in 2002
Same. I thought that maybe they forgot to put the whole episode on tv 😂 and when I first got it on dvd I went straight for that episode and was shocked at the ending. I was thinking they would have fixed that before putting it on DVD. But I guess they just grabbed the same version from the tv lol
Back in (I think) middle school or early high school, I took the Krusty Krab Training Video EXTREMELY to heart and convert the lessons into a “How to be the Top Student” kinda thing. 😂 For the most part, I wasn’t abiding by the episode, but other times, it really helped.
@@OzoneGamerStationa lot of people didn't understood it when they saw this ep, like me when i was a kid, i was so confused because i thought something was wrong with my tv 😂
That training video troll was even worse my first time watching it on cable cause instead of fading to black then rolling credits like they did on Paramount+, it would abruptly cut straight to commercial breaks confusing you into thinking the network screwed up by accidentally cutting to commercials early or something 😂
15:43 Here when you hear plankton's high pitched gibberish, it's actually sped up and high pitched voice lines that, at this time, were from an unreleased episode.
Fun Fact. Did you 2 know, that this episode actually had a closing logo error. Instead of United Plankton, the Klasky Csupo logo showed up, instead. XD
Plankton: You'll never catch me Krabs! Not when I shift into maximum overdrive! Hiya!! (Krabs caught Plankton) Plankton: I knew I should've gotten the turbo.
Mr Krabs fought in the Navy against the primitive fish(not evolved fish like everyone in bikini bottom) that’s why there’s a quick clip of Mr Krabs depressed after the war he fought in, the previous episode showed his photos hunting a primitive blue wale and a big harpoon on his wall along with over navy things. You just can’t spot it at first glance, it’s like they set the episode order like this on purpose.
If you're wondering why Krabs was in a war, it was because he was a soldier in the Navy. I actually have a theory that Mr. Krabs may have PTSD. In one episode he mentioned he once had a thousand-yard stare after an undisclosed event during his service there.
I always found that one of the most interesting part of Krabs’ backstory is that I several episodes they say he was in the navy (most likely in the Bikini Bottom version of the Korean War)
Since watching your reactions, I came to notice how Spongebob as a character changes slightly between seasons, and the training video just confirmed that for me. Last time there was a Plankton emergency, he basically shifted into "superhero mode" and caught him all by himself since at the end of the day, he wants to be an excellent employee. But when Plankton shows up in this episode, he utterly panics and runs around screaming. Spongebob seems to gradually become more and more idiotic (in a funny way of course) as the show goes on, and my theroy is that it stems from him always hanging around Patrick. Patrick is literally the character he hangs out with the most in this season, and I feel like his personality rubs off on Spongebob a lot from this point onward (especially in later seasons). If he were to hang out with Squidward or Sandy more, I feel like he'd start acting more like he did in Seasons 1 and 2.
Lol, I remember when they first advertised the Training episode with saying that the secret formula was going to be revealed. Every time they were dragging things out, especially with that long winded song for the Krabby Patty, I kept looking at the time as a kid as the episode was nearing its end lol. That cut-off cemented it X3
Congratulations! You've just watched two of my favorite episodes. The painting and the training video. These two are great. The comedy just doesn't stop with either of them. You will miss a joke laughing at the one you just saw five seconds earlier.
@3Katanas same any new upload is like a new episode of the show again, also the Krabby Patty Secret Formula will always be a mystery in SpongeBob! u must never reveal it
Wet painters it’s one of the funniest episodes I’ve ever seen from SpongeBob😆😆😆 Probably because this episode gets you so worked up and then oh OK and then laugh. The part where Mr. Krabs grabs all those paintings off the wall and then he sees SpongeBob behind all those paintings with his nervous smile always made me laugh 😂
So for the training video episode, it would be really funny when it aired on tv because when the announcer was about to say the secret formula, it would just cut to the commercials.
I've got to agree with others here and say that these episodes are great. I also love the reaction to the abrupt ending Did you know that you've now seen 100 episodes of SpongeBob? I might be wrong, though.
I remember when they first showed this episode on Nickelodeon. Originally, at the end of the Krusty Krab Training Video, the announcer said "The secret formula is....", and then it faded to black. But then afterward, it's like they edited it to where he just instantly gets cut off before saying "is".
Two questions - 1: Why didn't Krabs have glass in the frame over the dollar? Then they could've just replaced the glass. 2: Why didn't SpongeBob take out a dollar from his own wallet to put up on the wall?
It’s crazy but I swear I remember as a kid at the end of the Krusty Krab Training Video episode it telling us the Formula like it didn’t cut off like it does. I swear it did.
This is why season 3 is the goat. Wet painters and the kk training video in one episode? Oml
I haven’t watched season 3 in a while but I forgot it was just banger after banger after banger
Remember that the next time you’re applying for a job: No employee wants to be a Squidward.
And no Squidward wants to be an employee
False
You never start as a squidward it takes months or years of abuse by customers and shitty pay that turns you into one! Haha

I swear though I remember it differently. It’s like the mandala effect.
It's to protect the secret formula.

The part with Patrick and the paintbrush is so random, I can't help but die laughing 😂.
It almost reminded me of a feather duster
"We have technology..."
*Patrick being Patrick*
"It didn't work?" 😂😂😂
Back in (I think) middle school or early high school, I took the Krusty Krab Training Video EXTREMELY to heart and convert the lessons into a “How to be the Top Student” kinda thing. 😂 For the most part, I wasn’t abiding by the episode, but other times, it really helped.
I like how they just dropped "the war" with no context
Luckily, Alex Bale provides us with a bit of possible context
i think it's a reference to those 50s commercials where they'd always refer to after the war.
Mr. Krabs was in the Navy
Wet Painters and Training video are among my favourite episodes of the series! The "We have technology" gag is one of my personal favourite jokes
Too true! 🤣 It never fails to crack me up!
Congratulations guys! You just broke the record for the only people I know who got the ending of The Krusty Krab Training Video on the first watch!

Squidward just doing his job being used as the example of what not to be like has aged well.
Very much so, lol. 🤣

The Krusty Krab Training Video was amazing and unique, loved every bit of it, especially Patrick driving Squidward crazy.

This episode combination is legendary. This is my favourite episode set out of the series.
Squidward banging his head on the cash register is freaking hilarious.
10:27: Hoopla Fish: HOOPLA!
10:29: Narrator: KUJAKU! (KU = Throw a brick, JA = Hit Hoopla Fish & KU = Hoopla Fish died)

That's actually really interesting

This long strand of banger episodes made me realize Season 3 is my favorite. I think it's the funniest season overall.
Yeah the first two seasons have slightly better stories but if you want pure high quality comedy, S3 is the best.
In Wet Painters when Patrick pulled his nose hair and shed that single tear 😂😂😂 I was done.
2:48 to 2:52
that ending to the training ep used to make me so upset as a kid 😂 I thought my TV was broken

My absolute favorite pair of SpongeBob episode segments is Wet Painters and the Training Video
The Nasty Patty / Idiot Box is also an incredible pairing
I’m excited for the next episode. SpongeBob’s House Party is one of my favorites!!
It’s my favorite as well but seems like a lot people don’t like at episode for some reason.

If you separate the segments as Individual episodes, yeah it is the 100th episodes, but the actual 100th episode came around season 5!

Of course Mr Krabs of all people would put a cash vending machine in his home.
I forget these 2 episodes Premiered right next to each other

5:39 smart thinking,

If you're surprised about Mr. Krabs being in a war, remember he mentioned in a previous episode that he was part of the Navy in the past
Krusty Krab Training Video is my favorite episode ever.
There was no paint on that dollar spongebob had to mess it up
Two questions - 1: Why didn't Krabs have glass in the frame over the dollar? Then they could've just replaced the glass. 2: Why didn't SpongeBob take out a dollar from his own wallet to put up on the wall?
Mr. Krabs was probably too cheap for glass. He most likely found the frame in the garbage or something.
Wet painters and the krusty krab training video are so funny.
No one WANTS to be a Squidward, but we end up there eventually
