I remember this episode. It’s the one where SpongeBob throws a party for the first time. The episode was just okay, but the song Underwater Sun was really catchy back then.
Google : SpongeBob's Age Is Likely Between 18 and Mid-20s However, SpongeBob's grandmother has referred to him as an "adult" and "grown-up" on more than one occasion. He also appears older than Pearl, who -- as mentioned earlier -- turned 16 in the show.
It's pretty obvious by now, but Stephen Hillenburg and other crew members were big fans of new age punk rock. Lux Interior did the vocals for the ending song to this episode. They always got pushback from executives to use more marketable pop songs, but they stood their ground and helped either grow or revitalize the careers of several artists by exposing them to a mainstream audience.

I remember this special. My theory as to why they rarely aired it was because of how much different SpongeBob’s personality is here. It must’ve not had been a well received special, heck, the whole entire vibe of the special seemed different. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t good though, it is probably one of my favorites mainly due to how rare it was played. Another theory I had was that since it wasn’t holiday themed, there really wasn’t a reason to air it as much.
SpongeBob is actually 13 years old during season 1 because in one episode they have his license with his DOB: 7/14/86 There is then a few retcons here there that obviously show he isn’t 13 like his employee of the month awards and this guy he went to school with. SpongeBob would somewhere around mid 30s-early 40s. If we go based of this episode he would be in his 50s now. If we’re going based off the license he would be 37.

I really enjoy this episode! I know many people don’t like this one for some reason. I think the reason is SpongeBob kicked out of his home from his guests?
It's because Spongebob is so controlling and is getting mad at people for having fun at his party. Kinda annoying. But him getting arrested was also too much. This episode isn’t well-liked because SpongeBob is just out of character for absolutely no reason. It’s also because the extra long runtime does not feel earned in any way possible.
