I swear they've improved remote play even more, I rarely have any real problems with it. Quick tip from what I've discovered: Make sure you set the resolution on the machine you're connecting to so that it matches your laptop. Got a little wired network going and I'm gaming on an old Lenovo Thinkpad, it's impressive!
Kind of a weird question but does it have to be a steam game or can you add the game to your library. And then stream that game even though it wasn't officially bought from steam
I got the steam link device but don't use it anymore. From my experience, the best way to keep a stable stream is to run the steam link in 480p at 3mb. I upscaled 480p to 4k with my LG OLED TV. Moved on to parsec, parsec is better.
brother i try to stream games from pc to laptop everything fine expect the sound, i try in both obs and streamlab, but sound not come out, even i check all the setting, what will be the issue brother
Why when i press "translate" on my laptop the game on my pc launches but the button on my laptop goes green again and says "connect", and when i press connect it says loading and then goes back to "connect"?
I tried with steam and it works but when I tried it in battlenet while playing warzone in the setting menu the remote play isn't there but I've seen youtuber have it on there's? Can somebody help please
hi, i have paired my both pc's, but my laptop doesnt recognize my keyboard when i start the stream of the game, any solution? couldnt find in the settings of steam link.
@@WinTechUK i've tried steam streaming gta v, tw3, euro truck sim 2 few days ago on my mid end laptop and it's amazing, a stable internet connection and you're all set 💯⚡
Not as far as I know. You could potentially use a VPN on both devices to get them on the same subnet, but depending on where the devices are physically located it may be really laggy (assuming VPN worked)
@@WinTechUK ahhhh right hahah I got you! I should be used to it by now my partner’s family are all aberdonians haha Ty for the reply, and for the video! Got myself up and running streaming games to my phone. Any pointers on doing the same thing for Microsoft/Xbox store games? Mostly wanted to do this with Halo but it’s through the Xbox store. I know about Xbox cloud gaming but that requires game pass ultra, would be cool to find a steam link equivalent for Xbox store games, if you have any recommendations that’d be awesome! Tysm
I thought you could do it with Xbox remote play? Same idea as steam as long as you're on the same network. I haven't had an Xbox since the Xbox One though so am a little out of touch.
I have a question please... so i have an amazing pc, over qualifyed really... but does the laptop need a gpu? Can i use like a cheap 150$ work laptop? My idea was the laptop just acts as a monitor keyboard and mouse
it would be ideal for that laptop and desktop to be wifi6 if youre doing a complete air to air stream. Otherwise id recommend a quality wifi6 router with mimo etc....and a cheaper variant of the same brand to use as a node so you can connect the laptop and even your smart tv directly to the node via ethernet. This will definitely work with an older laptop that lacks ideal wifi performance capability. BC in most cases it would push your wifi6 desktop to the speeds of the laptop anyways. Like your upload of wifi6 desktop wont matter bc the laptop could be limited. Ive already tried wifi6 x570 tomahawk to my wifi6 HP omen. AIR to AIR works until i do a AAA level game of fidelity then my upload/download becomes an issue bc i dont even have GIGABIT with my ISP its 100$ extra monthly. The best solution would be your PC directly connected to the main router, and a node connected to your main 4k tv and laptop connected to stream to a 4k tv or projector etc. Otherwise gigabit and a full wifi6 ecosystem is the only way bc my ISP and most really limit upload rate w.o a gigabit package.
How do you connect what? As long as the PC and Laptop are on the same network and logged in with the same account you will see the option to stream games. (Make sure both versions of steam are up to date)
thanks brother been wondering about this for a while. always though if i sign into steam on my laptop itll sign me out on my gaming pc, tried warzone works a treat lol only been gaming pc for a few month so any other tips or apps to help or recommended would great from u and the peeps who comment //tah guys! oh and good simple video brother, thanks again

This is fucking insane. I hope steam continues pushing this. This might be the future of gaming once it's more stable.

Well no where in here did I set what software you used or settings to stream ...?
Software - Steam (it's in the title) and default settings.
Kind of a weird question but does it have to be a steam game or can you add the game to your library. And then stream that game even though it wasn't officially bought from steam
Add a non steam game to your library then it works. Just press the + button in lower left and browse to add game

Will it work if I have a MacBook ?

I think this is a good solution when it comes to a solo playing game like satisfactory.
will it work over internet ?
can i do this remotely and would my pc have to be on for this is thier a way i can stream with my host pc off
Lol, can you watch netfix without netfix account
Great I can now play GTA online from my potato laptop without going to the TV room 💀
How to do?????
I tried with steam and it works but when I tried it in battlenet while playing warzone in the setting menu the remote play isn't there but I've seen youtuber have it on there's? Can somebody help please
can I do something else on the host devoce that is streaming the game on steam
Sadly no, its almost like using RDP, whatever you do on the main PC is shown on the one you are streaming to.
hi, i have paired my both pc's, but my laptop doesnt recognize my keyboard when i start the stream of the game, any solution? couldnt find in the settings of steam link.
so i can play game on my laptop with ultra graphic that is rendered before from my pc?
That's correct, the PC does all the hard work and the laptop just displays the rendered images.

does this works with non steam games ?
is this working?
Can I do this on two different networks? My laptop is average but my work PC is pretty powerful. From a fellow Scot

You never showed or explained how to set it up
I just watched back and you are right, my apologies. But all that is required is both machines running steam to be on the same network.
@@WinTechUK i did get it to work, but discovered an issue with vulkan games sadly.
Cool, yo really did help me, you are a decent person.
1:20 “obviously Ethernet is always going to be wireless” did I miss something..?
"Beat" wireless, as in ethernet is always best. I'm scottish, we can't talk properly haha

Are you streaming on a 2.4ghz Wifi or a 5ghz?
This was on 5gz
@@WinTechUK hmm, I guess I'll have to upgrade.😕 It works like shit on 2.4ghz.
Thanks for the help buddy!🙂

Yes that will work, the laptop I used in the video only has the built in Intel graphics.

@@WinTechUK how to turn it off
I do have a question.
Do you also log in with your steam account in the laptop?
Doesnt this logs out you from your desktop?
Yes, sign into both devices with the same account. It won't log out the other device.

Rocket league took over my life lol
Why the fuck…. Nevermind.
I did this from PC to like, iPad or phone, but if I have a laptop,.. I’m not introducing more lag!
