We hiked this area this weekend. A volunteer told us that the water tower is made entirely of chestnut! Had not seen this old relic before! Happy Hiking Braids!
Injoy Watching Your video And I loved the old houses they look beautiful I even loved the Appalachian Trail launch that you had your wedding reception in and I'll be looking forward to the next video.
So good to see u and Angela having a good time boy those cabin must have to be renovated all the times because they were doing that when u got married 😗
Love your Smokys videos! Your older videos got me hooked on hiking. I love how you explain about the trail and history along the way. You are back in your element. Unfortunately, this is the first year in many that we won’t be visiting the mountains from Indiana 🙁. Maybe next year we will have to spend an extra week to make up for it.
Interesting. You obviously love your home area and give such good insight into the lives of past people in the region. It must have been a tough place to make a living all year round. Tourism sustains it now I guess with the hiking and accommodation, food places etc all being important. You had a good lunch out there...no chance of running out of energy ! No graffiti and carry out all trash. Yes, very important. Leave no trace.
I'm gonna be hiking this trail tomorrow!! Can't wait!! Thanks for making this video. It helped me decide what easy trail to hike. Elkmont is one of my favorite areas in the Smokies.
Beautiful hike and beautifully presented. We have similar hikes where I am which are filled with history and remnants of past houses and people’s lives. It’s so great to walk through. I feel like I’m going back in time. Loved your day hike. 🥾🤘🏻
I like old Town of Elkmont, good video, so let's keep on hiking
I love how you always talk to the little animals and critters! It’s obvious you care about nature. So sweet 🐌
Me too!

Nice hike. 10:04 They are doing a great job of renovating those old cabins.
You motivate the heck out of me. Gonna be planning another day hike to Elkmont now. Thanks!
The newly renovated cabins are worth the trip!

You always inspire me, and you are so encouraging!

Love that whole area
Hi, Gretchen !! Nice to see it looking springlike somewhere in this world. It snowed to beat the band here in northwestern Pennsylvania yesterday.

Glad to see you back in the Smokies. Did you happen to see the Bent Arm Manway opening on the Cucumber Gap. Trail? I’ve dreamed of doing that one.
Just did that trail last November. Great morning hike👏
Found out through your friends post you were there the same day I was, just a little later! Would have been fun to see you 🤗
I was just there Friday and Saturday we stayed at # 24 camp site .
I hiked Cucumber Gap and up Jakes Creek the exact same day, I bet you started right after me. I think I may have even seen my car in the video haha.
Love this video!!! Made my day. 😁 Also, love your hat! Can you share a link to where you bought it? Happy trails!! 🙂
I got it in Glacier National park
