The 4k transfer on this is one of the best I’ve seen , just phenomenal. Some scenes are demo worthy and I rarely say that. It looks like it was filmed yesterday. Just nuts
I remember when everybody on RUclips did a whole video about Killer Klowns not getting a 4K release and now we don’t hear a peep until release day. I expected a bigger deal when the 4K comes out.
That’s a sick Jason Goes To Hell shirt. I was born in 97 and the video store my family used to go to always had that VHS on the shelf and the cover always creeped me out as a kid. Killer Klowns will be a first time watch for me, so I’m just happy to get a Shout Factory release of this, can’t wait to check it out
I haven't seen the Scream Factory 4K yet but I rewatched my Arrow blu-ray a few weeks ago and I was quite pleased with the picture quality. It holds up fantastically, especially with 4K upscaling. UHD rights aren't as cut and dry as blu-ray rights and I'm predicting we'll get a Arrow UK 4K. I might hold out for that but we'll see what happens. I didn't realize the Arrow blu-ray was so sought after.
I'm 100% keeping Arrows Killer Klowns. Not just because it has more special features but because it's now a historical treasure piece of physical media. The only thing I wish I could do is get the slip cover that you have for it. I have the standard slip on my Arrow release.
I had that FYE exclusive slip but ended up selling it which I now kind of regret. I didn't need two slips for one movie and I probably should've sold the standard one instead.
Got mine today and will watch it tonight. You click-baited me, a little 😂, I thought you were going to say the picture was mid so I’m very happy to hear you say it’s so good. I bought Silver Bullet on 4k on your recommendation and wasn’t let down at all.
I've never seen Killer Klowns From Outer Space and I recently picked up the standard version I missed out on the Arrow Video version which sucks I'm looking forward to watching it the guy at Bull Moose said it's not super scary but it's a fun movie
Arrow has done carrie, the chucky films & Candyman so I’d hope they do there own 4K because even if they share the same transfer the arrow encoding on the actual disc has been better for each disc they’ve done.
I'm a major mark for this movie. I have the arrow release and I ended up getting both the slip (and alt slip) as well as the steelbook (which I'm keeping sealed). If Arrow UK releases a chunky box I'll be very tempted to get the movie again.
I wonder how many times Shout Factory has done a 4k scan, released it on Blu with good features and a cool slip, then released it 6 months later on a Blu Steelbook, then 2 years later with the same scan and features on 4k (Then finally again on another exclusive 4k steel at Walmart)...several times I'm guessing. I've been fooled into double dipping more than once 🙄 So I'm going to settle for the 2k Arrow release. The SF artwork is cool tho.
Stopped in a Walmart on the other side of town and spotted this in the shelf, it was probably the Margaritas in my system but I couldn’t not bring it home. Kinda sucks that it’s the same special features as my old dvd copy tho
If you see someone dumping their Arrow Blu-ray cheap, grab it. Even if Arrow does a UK 4K, you won't lose much value on your Blu-ray bc of it's special features. It'd probably be the same Blu-ray anyhow, and people with the Shout 4K will want just the special features, like I did. I think the Shout 4K will get down to the $20 or so range within a few months and I think the market will be flooded with them, so I don't see this one going for anything near like the Arrow Blu-ray did on the aftermarket.
The Arrow Blu-ray is trending downward on price right now. I talked a guy down to $25 shipped with the slip, pointing to the plentiful Shout 4Ks for ~$30-$35 right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see some people selling theirs off even cheaper. Before the 4K was announced, the cheapest I was seeing was $60 here and there, with $65-$80 being the most common I was personally seeing.
I can only speak for me, and I think it shows a certain level of appreciation for its customer base. And a lot of times I revisit the documentaries/interviews for movies I love
BTW Arrow has two releases of the film there original release was just a standard HD transfer it was a Steelbook version and boy was it bad the film grain and noise was almost as bad as my VHS version, also i would love so see someone cover 2003's Dead End, here in the UK there's no digital version and it was only released on DVD, so you can imagine how bad the film looks in the darker scenes which is basically the hole movie.
the special features on the scream factory release are actually the exact same features that are on the standard mgm release. i was gonna get it but that just isnt ok in my eyes to justify spending $40 when usually watch blu rays anyway
That's much better than the MGM Bluray release trust me. I have both MGM release an the Blu-ray is a pain in the ass. Because the movie starts as soon as you put in the Bluray an all you can do is only pause it. You can never stop the movie literally and figuratively because as soon as the movie ends. It starts playing the movie all over again. The main menu is a pop up menu that is only available well the movie is playing in the background. Because it won't come up if the movie is paused.
@@83shadow3 Klowns is a fun movie but the DVD is good enough for me I am trying to build a huge collection of horror and don't wanna keep reapting tiles over and over. I have mostly DVDs but I buy blues and upgrade the films that I really love or if the dvd was bad. MGM put out a good DVD with tons of features. Sucks to hear Blue from mgm was bad. I still have the VHS from Media and it has the dickies music video at the end of the tape. I started with VHS in late 80's collecting it took me forever to move on to DVD and now I am barley moving to blue and 4k have zero interest
@@coltgay4570 Put it this way I first got the Blu-ray but after trying to deal. With that menu an the never ending movie because it keeps playing nonstop. Literally like you watch a bonus feature but it literally and figuratively picks up. In the middle of the movie because the movie never stops ever. I literally and figuratively went screw this an I got the MGM DVD. Because doing anything with the MGM Blu-ray is a pain in the ass so I refuse to even use that Blu-ray. So I got The DVD out of necessity just to have a functional version of Killer Klowns from outer space. Because that MGM Blu-ray version of it is barely functional it plays the movie but automatically an in a never ending loop. Then the menu options is a pain in the ass to use.
The 4k transfer on this is one of the best I’ve seen , just phenomenal. Some scenes are demo worthy and I rarely say that. It looks like it was filmed yesterday. Just nuts
Using a 3-Disc 4K set, I combined my arrow & shout! versions together. So now I have the best of both worlds.

My local Wal Mart, which never has any new movies, had the steelbook a week early!

Straight to Hell*

Hey Christian, love the Tall man doll next to you; Boyyyyyy!!!!!
I watched it as soon as I got my copy. So awesome 😎

Love the arrow video cover. Hadn't seen it before.

For those who don't own the Arrow release you might as well buy the Scream Factory. You will be paying a whole lot of money for that Arrow release.
Arrow has done carrie, the chucky films & Candyman so I’d hope they do there own 4K because even if they share the same transfer the arrow encoding on the actual disc has been better for each disc they’ve done.
I bought lair of the white worm the other day, I’ll be getting this one and the Gate next

I have a feeling Arrow will re-release Killer Klowns in a Limited Edition 4K boxset in the UK.
I hope they do a big chunky box......Arrows transfer will be slightly better as always... The bit rate is always higher.....
The did Carrie in 4K about a year after Shout......so yea, i think they will too (i hope) :)
I agree.
@@fatguyinaspeedoand did their own set of the Childsplay movies as well
Mine arrived yesterday but I haven’t watched it yet definitely looking forward to it.
Great review 👍🏻
Hum might try and get the Arrow release then!

I picked up the steel book at Walmart yesterday 💪😎
I almost picked up the steelbook but the only copy there had a huge dent in the cover.
Stopped in a Walmart on the other side of town and spotted this in the shelf, it was probably the Margaritas in my system but I couldn’t not bring it home. Kinda sucks that it’s the same special features as my old dvd copy tho
Might end up being a Carrie situation where Arrow UK releases in a year.

Yes I am keeping the Arrow Blu Ray even tho I got this 4K Steelbook as well
I get mine in 30 minutes so excited from Amazon steelbook! Also can't wait to play the game on the 28th!!
Its just the same special features from the mgm dvd. Arrow made their own
When are you going to talk about you Killer Clowns statues?! Please.
Honest question, is there anyone here who actually watches the special features on these discs enough times to be that adamant about having them?
I can only speak for me, and I think it shows a certain level of appreciation for its customer base. And a lot of times I revisit the documentaries/interviews for movies I love
Love this film but I didn't feel the need to buy it again just to have it on 4K. I'm very happy with the Arrow Blu-ray and transfer.
Totally agree
I think we are geting the first four nightmare on elm st movies on 4k becuse i read somthing saying they where taking them of netflix
I don’t have the arrow Bluray
I’m sick of Screams loose discs that are are almost always scratched to hell.

I enjoyed this movie back in the day but upon resent rewatch , I gave my DVD away. Just my opinion but it does not hold up
Your opinion is objectively wrong, because Killer Klowns is awesome.
You are wrong. The movie is fun af
Wild, it’s such a great film!
Four k is overrated it's just getting you to buy the same movie again
