Very happy to hear Derek that it helped you out ! The EQ is soooo powerful , awesome tool once you get the ideas. enjoy and thanks again, appreciated !
Very good practical video, thank you! This graphic EQ is great. The MXR EQ has just the right frequency bands for guitar I like. And he doesn't rush like a waterfall like the Boss GE-7! Once again a product that has been finished and should therefore also be sold! 🎸🙋♂
Thanks a lot man for watching and your nice comments ! Fully agree with you….. this pedal does it a job very very good and great frequencies for us guitarplayers….., very versatile !!
Thanks for actually explaining how you connect the pedal. I have this pedal coming in the mail Monday, hopefully. I've been trying to figure out how to connect it through the fx loop. I got a dsl20 head and it's my first tube amp and first amp with a fx loop. Again, thank you.
I use it on the fx loop of the dsl 20..amp is too shrill sounding, so I drop the 4k band for 4-6db and recuparate the treble at 8k (again 4-6db). Makes it sound like a jcm800-900 like this
I've been tossing up whether to buy an EQ for ages. You've given me something to really think about. I saw your post in Marshall Amp Forum. Subbed too. Thanks mate. 👍🇦🇺
Oh thanks a lot man, appreciated !! And YES : you will not regret an EQ because it can just do so much 'magic" to out tone / sound....and cheap compared to lots of other devices but very important : it will not mess around with your good amp signal unless you want to :( Anyhow let me know how it worked out and how you would like to use it, thanks !
Hey my friend, thanks for your kind comment and most of the time it is in the front . Only once I show it in the FX loop….. intro music is in the front ….enjoy, killer pedal !
Output one goes to 1 amp, output 2 goes to second amp.. add a touch of chorus. Use the eq last in the pedal chain... combined with od/ distortion pedals... THE TONE IS FANTASTIC... if playing clean you still need a touch of chorus. THE TONE IS FANTASTIC. I have 2 marshall ministacks model 3005( they do not make anymore) with 4.. 10 inch speakers, when the volume cranked up at 3 or 4 o'clock.. the Marshall's come alive! MY TONE is off the hook!!!!!! I always use my eq!! Best investment.. use the ten band eq... 5,6,7 band eq are not as good
Thanks, very helpful. Just picked up a used one. Have been hearing about the necessity of having this tool. Plan to use on bass, acoustic and electric guitar.
Yep. I just started a pedal board and I think I am getting this pedal tomorrow. I need a bit more clarity and chunk when I’m playing thrash/hardcore riffs.
Hey.. I came here to see and hear a review of this pedal. I wanted to tell you that i enjoyed your playing. You play very well. I also wanted to mention incase you might not know it? BUT IF YOU JUST WANT A BOOST FOR YOUR SOLOS? THEN YOU CAN USE JUST A SIMPLE BOOST PEDAL! A CLEAN BOOST TO BE EXACT! AND A CLEAN BOOST WILL ALSO BOOST ALL OF YOUR SIGNALS! SO ALL OF YOUR SOUND WILL BE BOOSTED IF YOU WANTED THAT. OR JUST THE BOOST FOR THE SOLOS..
I ALMOST FORGOT! For additional punch, definition, and clarity in your amp? YOU SHOULD TRY K77 POWER TUBES! ( AND ECC3 PRE AMP TUBES ) Maybe 9x7 pre amp tubes depending your taste. Also HUMBUCKER PICK UPS WITH A COIL TAP, WOULD GIVE YOU A PUNCHIER SOUND IN YOUR STRAT..
Thanks a lot man ! Yes for a clean boost I tried the MXR CAE Clean boost !! Very very good !! For me the ‘clean boost’ also includes a little Mid Boost , so that’s why a prefer the EQ :)
@@Anandmahangoe Hi. Well if you like it? that is all that matters. But dont stop looking at other possibilities. There are mid boost pedals you can get, there are other pedals too like reverb, delay, chorus, phaser, flanger, that can also boost your signals while they give their unique features too. Do you put the mxr eg in the effects loop?
@@Anandmahangoe I'm really quite tempted by this pedal after watching your video (I might wait until my next pay day) I really like your guitar tone! Powerful and clear!
I would first use a noise gate and then all the other pedals normally……. Depending on the noise I would also try putting the noise gate in the FX loop of your amp if that is the thing what makes lots of noise…..
I understood these to be built with better quality parts for noise reduction. Kinda silent modded from the factory. Why would you need a noise gate? Is everything else that noisy?
Hi Anand, Hope you are doing well where you at. Any chance to see a second album of Sphere Of Souls ? Big fan in here of your previous works - Greetings from Casablanca - Morocco
The LEDs on the middle slider flash when the pedal is off and when I turn on the pedal it makes several little noises, I thought it was my guitar cable, but it's the pedal, has anyone had this happen to you?
One thing I wish modern EQ pedals had was a global frequency shift. These EQ pedals are all designed around standard E tuning. But if you play with lower tunings, those frequencies don't cover the same relative areas in the range of the instrument. I wish there was a way to be able to shift every band by a ratio corresponding to a number of semi-tones, so that the relative location of each band would remain the same no matter what tuning you are using (maybe say down to an octave below standard). The only way to do this right now is to use a parametric EQ, and they usually only have 4 or 5 bands you can adjust.
@@Anandmahangoe That would be amazing! There is the Boss EQ-200, which has programmable presets you can switch to on the fly, but the frequency bands are all still the same, the programming can only change the boost/cut of these. We need something that can adjust to the tuning of an instrument, so that the EQ frequencies can adjust for that tuning. I'm not an inventor but if I could do it, I bet there would be a market for it. Maybe it's time for me to learn electronics...
@@Anandmahangoe This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! Every band frequency can be adjusted, and even the bandwidth can be changed, making it an actual parametric EQ. And it can do 2 simultaneous presets, both in front of the amp and in the FX loop. This is a game changer for me, and really for the entire EQ market. Big thanks for introducing this to me!
too bad this pedal has to use their special power supply instead of being 9v like everyone else. If you plan on using one of these with other pedals it will not just fit onto your board and plug in like the others. I bought one and found that to be too impractical for my rig, so a waste of money.
Too bad my fiend ! Actually the power specs and size are always written on the online stores websites I guess so anyone can look them up and see if it will fit on their Pedalboard and the power supply……..anyho thanks for watching and your comments !
@@Anandmahangoe yes, it was I who did not catch the detail. I can not blame them for that, but it just seems crazy when we have standard stuff like 1/4" jacks, general pedal sizes, jack placement, and 9v power. Mine is a notice, and not an attack on you in any way. I appreciated your vid.
