    For people who don’t know, this is the O.G. relic. Cunetto was contracted by Fender to relic guitars after successfully fooling dealers at a guitar show with a fake 50’s Strat with Gold Hardware, more a comment on the runup of vintage prices in the 1990’s than attempt to make a fortune by throwing keys at the guitar. This guy knows his stuff!

    Hi there. Great vid. If I want to integrate the fm3 into my existing board, can it still run stereo out? I do have an amp profiler on my board. Can I have both of these running? Can I have both as running two amps? I know that’s possible in the fm9 having two amp blocks but I’m trying to get around that by using my simplifier by dsm Humboldt.

    • @Anandmahangoe
      @Anandmahangoe 26 дней назад

      Hi there ! YES : you can run it stereo out…. Just put the FM3 last in the chain and you have XLR outs to go to FOH / mixer and stuff. You can also have your Profiler running : just don’t use the Amp + Cab blocks….. 2 amps : for sure - your profiler will be on the input of the FM3 ( pan it L ) and pan the FM3 amp + cab block R for example….. many options !!

    • @gabrieladdenbrooke1964
      @gabrieladdenbrooke1964 26 дней назад

      @@Anandmahangoe thank you for this! So can I put my drive before my profiler, then have my wet effects run in the effects loop of the profiler (Simplifier Mk2), then out of that I can go into the FM3 to go stereo out? The simplifier also allows me to go stereo out to FOH. Really trying hard to not get the fm9 if not needed and I can essentially do the same thing with the double amp blocks that it runs but in my case I’m trying to use another profiler. Hope I made sense

    • @Anandmahangoe
      @Anandmahangoe 25 дней назад

    I have both. For regular guitar I can't hear much of a difference (although I prefer the response/immediacy of the Peterson's tuning) but I also play Pedal Steel and that's where I REALLY noticed the difference in buffers. The polytune still makes my Steel sound like I'm not using a buffer at all (muffled & midrangey) but the Peterson buffer with it is night & day. I think it's due to the Peterson's ability to handle much the higher impedance of typical pedal steel pickups (about 20k)

    In the mix, the 88's are finer. The 34's has more lower end (100/80hz),beautifull, but it disturb the frequence of the essential basedrum and bas and that mixes the sounbalance restless and muddy.

    Cleans the Marvell wins by a mile, clearer, sparklier, and still not edgy or jagged. Overdriven... The Friedman is more pleasing to the ear in some ways, but it's also muddier and messier because of the additional low end. I think the Marvell would stand up to a busy mix better.

    • @Anandmahangoe
      @Anandmahangoe 2 месяца назад

      Thank you very much man !! Of course it helps in the comparison but nonetheless the Fractals Silver comes very close especially if you would like to dig into the advanced parameters. With just the normal BMTP knobs one can already easily get that full body tone like a Silver Jube. But I still prefer the real tube amp especially with its amazing Cleans which the Fractal does not model……the drive channel is little difference in tone…. In ‘feel’ that’s something I prefer of the tube amps.

      The way high and low frequencies obey their own rules rather than mess with each other is very attractive to me. The EL34 sound is, by comparison, one dimensional, take it or leave it. The KTs would suit my playing, giving much more touch control and a better chording experience, particularly with complex harmonies.

      @@artysanmobile it is all good my friend , in the right hands they all sound amazing. The KTs do have the more dimensional thing for sure, no argument about that ;)

    f*ck TC Electronic. they've made some cool pedals, but their quality control was trash... I can't imagine it has changed. I've had multiple Flashbacks (original, X4), Hall of Fame 1 & 2, and Ditto X2 & X4... ALL of them have had issues, from the Ditto X4 being DOA new out of the box, to footswitch failures on most, and my Hall of Fame 2 just died randomly a couple weeks ago... I paid nearly $200 for it when it came out. in contrast, I still have my first pedals from the 90s and they all work without any issue (DOD Phaser, Cry Baby, TR-2, PN-2, and even the dirt, dirt cheap FabTone by Danelectro... all still work just fine). the ONLY TC Electronic products that haven't given me any problems (yet...) are my PolyTune 2 Noir and PolyTune Clip. they are pretty cool tuners, but the Peterson stomp and clip tuners are better IMO. P.S. F*CK TC ELECTRONIC, BEHRINGER, AND WHOEVER OWNS THEM NOW (forget the name, but f*ck them anyway). is my bitterness apparent enough? 😂

    I think the Polytune ever so slightly retain the volume better, Peterson have 5Mohm input which is because it's supposed to work well with other instruments than guitar to like basses. The ideal input Ohm is 1Mohm for guitar so the Polytune is better as a buffer for guitars.

    • @Anandmahangoe
      @Anandmahangoe 2 месяца назад

      Thank my friend and I fully agree with the numbers you mentioned. Those should be the right ones for a good buffer BUT when comparing their sound and judging with my ears and taste of sound, I prefer the Peterson. Nothing wrong but either one of them of course …. Just a taste for a sound which comes as close to the guitar - amp signal .

      @@Anandmahangoe Hm when listening again on my PC i think the Peterson sound more like going straight into the amp. On my phone it was opposite! Do you have any software that can compare the soundwaves and see which is most authentic?

    • @Anandmahangoe
      @Anandmahangoe 2 месяца назад

      @@GabrielSkolderbladyes, the Peterson sounds more like going straight into the amp without the extra high frequencies of the Polytune buffer I guess. No, no software except for my ears.

    The problem is they don't mark the control knobs with wide glow in the dark paint, you can't see your markings at night on a gig. Dumb mistake and it's an epidemic!
