I would probably do each section separate to not have wrinkles.

That's got to be the craziest decopage I've ever seen..

I've been hanging on to some lovely old shades forever. Now I know why. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you for watching!! I hang onto shades too. The possibilities are endless, plus they are so expensive to buy!

I would have liked to have seen a full profile of the lamp. I liked the shade. Look a little shabby chic.

If you want less fisible "seams/lines" in your decoupage...you could fray the edges, of your paper, by tearing the edges by hand (instead of having straight, hard edges). Your "pattern" will be more fluid that way.✌🏻😊

Use a paint or pastrybrush to wet the paper around the design so it tears with a feathered edge.

Didn’t like the wrinkled finish of the lamp shade. Seemed like a very sloppy, rushed job.

I don’t like it either. But at 11:26, she stated it would have a wrinkled look, as that’s how she wanted it.

Where did you purchase your paper? It is beautiful and it's "forgiving", meaning easy to work with, doesnt require matching up at the seams. A dark print would require more detailed efforts.
Beautiful Outcome, and (I'm OCD, one of those perfectioists) ... but I allow others their Creative space, after all "Lucky is always desired over Perfectionism anytime"!
... and Your choice in paper is so gorgeous and lucky cause it's easier!

WOW! You made this lamp look so beautiful with the paint and the decoupage over the lampshade. I just LOVE it. Did you use chalk paint on the lamp and the shade? I have an antique table lamp which is porcelain and it's in the shape of a tree with a blue bird in the branches and a white cat at the base of the lamp. I love the lamp but I need to change the old shade which was made in the '80's and it's awful! 😅 But underneath the old fabric there's a plain white stiff shade that looks like it might be part of the original lamp, but it's slightly discoloured with age. Do you think I could paint it with white chalk paint? Thank you for a great video tutorial. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia

Hi Amanda 😊thank you so much for watching my video ! Yes I used chalk paint. Chalk paint works well pretty much on most surfaces. I’m sure that it will work or your shade. I’ve used chalk paint on lamp shades many times. Have fun painting yours 😊

What a royal mess! I had to fast forward throughout most of this video as it was too cringeworthy. I could not imagine that lamp coming out uglier than it already was. What a sloppy mess and you're going to sell that to someone who's thinks it's pretty, that's the most laughable part. More power to you, I wish you well and I wish you luck. It was entertaining in the least.

I had a hard time watching too. The paper was beautiful and if she had taken her time and tackled a section at a time, it would have come out really nice even if it had a few wrinkles. And the little bird she cut, she didn't even cut carefully around it and it was noticeable. But everyone has a different idea of beautiful and her heart was in the right place so I say as long as she is crafting and creating then all is good. I hope she keeps on making things that make her happy.
