No no no no. Sorry, obviously you are correct about 'nobody wanting to invade Iceland' as far as we have known it, but that story is over. Iceland and Ireland - two countries with no militaries near the Arctic - will have to pick up their game. The Arctic is already a major source of world conflict when it comes to resources. Or why does anybody think that the stupid as fuck President Trump suggest the US needed to buy Greenland? The answer is: for the same reason why the first place of call for Biden's Defence Secretary was Denmark. And why NATO is happy to have Finland and Sweden inside the alliance.
As a Dane I can say that the Nordic Countries are already united. In a loose but good way.
We have had our wars, but I think the last war between Nordic Countries was a few hundred years ago. And our history have a lot of separations of power, creating independent countries. A long time ago Sweden and Norway broke away from Denmark. Later Norway broke away from Sweden. And during WW2 Iceland broke away from Denmark. All of this happened in peace without wars.
But still we share a lot of culture and common values.
If france got invaded.. again.. meh so what.. No one invades Norway Denmark and Sweden.. Well the only ones in my oppinion that are allowed to do that is Norway Denmark and Sweden. Maybe England and Finland and Ireland and Scotland. If I saw 100 thousand dudes in kilts and bagpipes marching against me.. screw this... and run. Or 100 thousand Swedish women with flowers in their hair.. Maybe even more scary. hahaha

The military of Sweden is a bit of a miscalculation, as we don't count our army as Finland does. That number only counts our standing Army, our professional army. We also have 800k military educated men. Easily mobilized in case of war. Plus probably another couple of million which will be mobilized in case of war. We in Sweden have a military doctrine called "Totalförsvar" (total defense), meaning everyone (men & women) between 16-70 are part of the Total Defense (civilian or military defense).

Indeed but the figure you state is ppl that most often have not touched a gun for 20 years or so or were trained in now defunct branches like the coastal artillery. But sure, theoretically we could probably call up a million troops but even if we did we no longer have the weaponry for them to use.

My point is that do not compare the 800k Sweden is calculating with the 280k Finland has. Then some of that 800k can be compared to the +600k Finland has while much of that 800k compares to those outside the 900k in Finland. Like its a pool but 20 years of cuts/neglect did its damage.
Like every year you will loose 50k trained(you trained about that in 1950-1980) and do you already train enough new ones per year?
What is important to note here is that 900k number is not official. It originates from the test back in 2013 or 2014 when Russia took crimea and Finnish Defence Forces wanted to test their systems with sending letters to 900k reservists. Revealing that the current amount of trained reserve was that figure.
Our official military strength is 280k with at least 900k military trained reserve. If they go trough with rising the age restriction for retiring from the reserve as planned. It will push that number well over million, exact numbers are unknown and hopefully will also stay that way.
Sweden will also be formidable force just like we Finns. Military strength was pointless observation in the video, as it didnt go into details, which would have showcased how well our armed forces compliment each other.
@@Kuutti_original No offence to anybody here, but Sweden's official doctrine is to produce military equipment and have Finns fight for them on the ground. As a Finn I understand that, because you are not responsible for our geography. But you better fucking have the equipment and hand it over for free, because you'll have no chance if the Russians manage to overpower us. -- As in they will funnel through Sweden from the North and the game will be over. Look at the maps. The only thing Finland needs to lose is Lapland and Sweden will be fucked.
Iceland is a little Island and is protected by NATO. Norway, Denmark UK and also Italy is on rotation using fighter jets to protect Icelandic airspace. And yes, it cost a lot to live here in Norway, but free healthcare and schools kind of makes up for that. Norway takes care of its population, unlike US for example.

Guys, Denmark and Canada have had a border dispute for decades!. It was settled, when Putin went to Ukraine, as it looks bad that to NATO nations fight about their an empty island, Hans Ø!
It was called the Whisky War. Both countries patroled the island. The Canadian soldiers left a botlle of whicky and a note saying Welcome to Canada. The Danes resplaced it with a bottle of Danish spirits, Akvavit, and a not saying Welcome to Denmark. Drink and repeat.
That's how civilized nations fight border wars 😍 It could have gone on FOR EVER - if Putin wasn't so greedy!
The long, long, bridge at the end is the "Öresund bridge", it is the friendship bridge between Denmark and Sweden. The bridge-side is on the Swedish side, while on the other side in Denmark they have a tunnel, as the bridge turns to an underwater tunnel at about the halfway mark. Truly impressive to see in real life.
A few hundred years ago such a thing to build a bridge between the arch-enemies of Denmark and Sweden would be unthinkable, with our countries having been at war for over 30 times. We are cool now though, just a lot of internet-banter these days :)

The TAX thing.....I think most Nords would agree that as long as the tax money actually goes to useful things in our societies, we don't mind. It is when the government decides to throw the money in the sea on useless projects that we tend to see red. Art project in the style of a dance number at the cost of 100 million SEK (actual thing)? Ok, why not use the money to improve the life of old people in the region? Stuff like that grind peoples gears around here.
yes indeed Finland has mandatory military conscription for men 18 years old and above, it lasts for 165, 255 or 347 days depending on what kind of training you choose. This conscription is not mandatory for those living in åland, since it is an autonomous region.
In Denmark we jokingly say that Finland has as many soldier as inhabitants + they've got bunkers for EVERY Finn.
On top of that, they've all got sisu, so don't get on their wrong side.

Another thing to know about living in Sweden is that usually you don't need a car because you can walk, bike or take a bus pretty much anywhere. Especially for me, I've lived in Sweden my whole life and never owned a car, I can walk or bike pretty much everywhere in my city and when I want to go to other places in sweden i go by train

Let's just say this. Even the poorest Nordic citizen with a minimum wage job can save up money and go to Thailand for a vacation for 1-2 weeks every year(and that's if they don't even try very hard). So no matter how ppl complain about high taxes or whatever, they live in another reality most ppl in the world can't imagine. Besides free health care, education, etc. They also get like 200$-ish child support from the government every month for each child, which among many other things is why many move back once they've been abroad.
This is a bit exetereting . I don't think every one can save money .
@@musica-xz2zj Take this for an example: your income, if you're the absolutely most dirt poor citizen living from welfare(in other countries these ppl would be homeless, living on the streets), requiring you to do the absolute minimum amount of work(like pick trash on the streets for 2hrs a day or a few times a week go on "How to get a job" courses or whatever) , you get about 450-500 USD a month plus whatever your rent and electric/broadband bill is(so totally a month you might get around 1000 USD). You can easily eat and have some good nights out on the weekends for about about 300 USD(might not be true in Norway though, lol). So you can save basically anything from 150-200 USD a month. And this from the absolute minimum wage anyone can earn in the Nordic countries. In a year that's 1800 USD to 2400 USD. A trip to Thailand starts at about 1300 USD with flight and hotel. And even if you stay away for just a week, you still have at least a remaining 2-4+ weeks of vacation left according to the law(might differ a little bit from country to country though). Sidenote: I don't think the welfare state allows you to save money though, lol, they'll just reduce the amount they give you the following month. But it's just an example :)

People in Sweden don't pay as much tax as some people say. Ì usually pay about 25%

It missed one of the three main problem with uniting, Sujy did notice itl
1-The language:not much of a problem Scandinavian. Danish, Swedish and Norwegian is in a dialect continuum so just declare it to be dialects of the same language and keep going. Icelanders and Finns normally can handle it, altough it is a bit hard for the Finns.
The idea that speaking fluent English as 1st language instead of speaking fluent English as 2nd language would be a huge advantage is just absurd.
2-The capital: Would be a problem, but the unification has much better chance to work as a federation. And we would need a federal capital that not is one of the capital for the states in the federation, so that pretty much leave Gothenburg as the outstanding candidate.
3-The Monarch: The issue the film missed and that Sujy noticed. Denmark ,Sweden and Norway all have kings. And they as well as the Monarchy is rather popular, so a federal solution with regional kings and a rotating High kingship (like in Malaysia) may be needed.
And the 4th problem, that is the main reason we have not united. It do not give us any advantages over the current situation. The inter Nordic co-operation is very strong.

In Finland the first line military reserve from conscripts would be like 280 thousand troops fully kitted out with top notch equipment. The rest would be second line troops with equipment recently obsoleted from the first line. They would have to have longer refresher exercises, and would be used according their age distribution.
In Denmark we have 179 seats in the parliament. 175 of these is Danish, as well as 2 seats to represent Faroe Island & 2 for Greenland. In 2019 Trump thought he could visit Denmark to buy Greenland, when he found out that wasn't happening, he didn't bother coming. Donald Chump 😂😂😂

Yeah, Tronald Dump got pretty upset when danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called it an absurd idea and decided to stay away from the visit. Nobody really bothered about that. Took it as a relief that we didn’t have to see his terrible hair-doo on this soil.

If there was to be a nordic nation I believe Gothenburg would be a natural choice as Capitol. It’s only 200 kilometers from Norway and just a little more then that from Denmark. A common language would be a much harder nut to crack and would probably take a few generations to be implemented.
The language won’t be a problem since we all understand each others, well except Finland (where most people speak Swedish) and when it comes to danish, after a few beers you speak and understand that perfectly well so the parliament can be in a pub and that would rise the happiness even more. And if that doesn’t work, we all speak English perfectly well so the politicians can communicate in English and the people in our own language. To have one common language is just stupid.
Gothenburg should be the capital. I'm saying this as a Stockholmer. It's smack in the middle of Oslo and Copenhagen and has the infrastructure.
Or copenhagen only cuz its central region as well and a capital city today. Oslo Stockholm and Helsinki may be less central then Gothenburg or Copenhagen is why they might not be the top of the list.
Also make sense as a united Nordic would be best as a federation and Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm needs to stay as capital of their state, and we need a separate federal capital.
As a Gothenburgian, I'm not sure we would accept this prestigious offer. Even though we joke about us being the actual capitol of Sweden. Capitol cities have a curse on them making the population less social and less nice and I don't want that for my city. I like how we're a big city with a small town mentality.

Greetings from Finland! Our country is ranked high in no-corruption list, but the trick is that Finnish corruption is not money-based. It is based on "scratch my back and I'll scratch your back" - principle. It is more difficult to get caught when money doesn't move from hand to hand.

Not bad. I'm ready to consider one united Nordic country even though at the moment I prefer independency of all Nordic countries. About the official language: every Nordic language must be official! There can be several. Not forgetting Sami either. About capital, that I don't care so much. It can be Stockholm if everyone agrees to that.
Everything is relative, it's in the human nature to complain. Yes we pay a lot of taxes and then we pay VAT on top of these taxes in some cases. 50% of the price of gasoline is taxes, and then 25% VAT on the total. Tax on salary is a progessive scale but about just over 30-33% on an "average" salary and increasig to above 50% for higher income. Then tax and VAT onn consumer goods leds to that with tax on salary and spendings, you pay about 75% tax overall in your daily life. (These numbers come from Sweden but should be similar in all nordic countries)
But what really counts is what you can buy with the money you got left. We have nothing to complain about when it comes to this. It's very unusual to need to have multiple jobs like in the USA, you have one full-time job 40 hours a week and you can make a living of that. The social security network are then supposed to support you from the tax money to even out your need for money if you are considered having a "sub-standard" economy in relation to your income. It's not working perfect and it's abused sometimes by people not in any need of support by cheating the system. It's a good thought but it need to be fixed so it's fair to all, and deserves some criticism but I believe everyone agrees on the basic idea. If you have the lowest pension (about 770 USD per month) and nothing else, you can apply for an allowance to pay some or most of your rent or costs for housing. If you have kids, you get 125 USD monthly for each kid and progressively increasing with 15$ for each kid. Everyone gets this child support, needing it or not. School is not only free, you get some allowance and can apply for a beneficial loan to support your living costs during higher studies. It's possible to live an independent self-sustainable life as a grown-up and study full-time at the university at the same time. If you get sick you still get 80% of your salary from the employer for two weeks, after that the state goes in with tax money to give you 65% or up to about maximum 2400 USD monthly. If you are a high earner 2400 USD is less than 65% and you think it sucks but wait, you get something, it's not the governments fault that you "over-spend" because you can when you're healthy. 2400 USD is enough to pay for an ordinary living and living like a king were your choice when you had the money coming in. The state didn't force you to that lifestyle.
The idea is that the state take your money, if they could they would take 100%, and then they distribute them back to you in the amount you need them depending on your circumstances.
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" as Karl Marx put it. Basically it's realized within the nordic model, although not with perfection. You also need to leave some space in order to allow for making an extra effort to bring something back to the one that is working hard, which also brings inequality and injustice to the table, but have the good thing with it that there is a motivation for progress. It's a hard and complicated thing to balance.
It's not perfect, there are people working very hard for low wages but there's a supporting "bottom platform" to prevent you from falling too far, too deep if things go wrong in your life. If everyone were solidary to the idea, the system could do better and be more fair to all citizens. Tax evaders and those who cheat the system for own profit is hollowing out the capacity and fairness of the system, that's our main problem.
When we nordics complain, remember we complain because we can't afford to fill up the gas in our private jet plane. Everything is relative.

@@MaxSujyNorden As a business owner and employer (well I used to be an employer until recently) it places me among the reactionary elements or at best the liberals, which shows how deep and well implemented "capitalistic socialism" are. I'm in strong opposition with the unions as I think they are no longer reaching for what's fair, they use their members as leverage for grasping after power to themselves in my opinion. I think the syndicalists are the only honourable socialists left, in today's 21st century. I would never be accepted as a socialist among socialists just because of my opinions presented above :-) Not in the nordic countries.
The salary tax is highly inaccurate.
You're thinking about tax table 30-33, not percent tax.
Average tax for median salary (38.3k sek) is 22.6%.
If you have 32% tax then you can consider yourself very well payed (65k sek), far above anything that could be considered average.
When you reach 50% tax, you're making 307k sek a month. That's rich territory
@@SpeedRebirth You forget the "kommunalskatt", which is a meridian of 32,23% depending on where you live and never as low as 22,6%, wherever you found that numbers. State taxes kicks in if you earn above 615k SEK per year. The employer fee tax of 31,42% also comes from gross salary, even though it's "hidden" from you. All my figures relates to Sweden.

Languahe - SCANDINAVIAN. We already speak coherently, it is just dialects. Iceland is close to norwegian, if a bit different, and in Finland most of them know swedish. We don't need to change our languages to understand each other. And english is just an internatonal bonus.
I think perhaps all countries have that system of minimum living standards. In Norway, you should have $700 in surplus for food for one person and $1,000 for two people - approximately. You can also get a subsidy for rent and the State can cover the electricity bill and the internet

It's true that we pay "taxes on taxes" in Sweden, although technically it's considered "fees" in some cases but effectively it's the same thing as the money end up in the government.
The income tax (which what you typically refer to as a tax) depends on your income, high income means more taxes I think the average swede pays around 30% to income tax, if your income exceeds roughly $4200 you pay extra tax for each $10 that exceeds this, I don't recall the exact limit but say you earn $5000 a month, you pay ~30% income tax of $4200 of those and roughly 53% on the rest ($800, ie around $400 in taxes), which ironically results in that people with a high income tends to get absurd raises to offset the additional taxes they have to pay, something (especially left-wing) uses as argument to claim that XXX earns 5 times as much as YYY while completely ignoring the progressive taxing which means diminishing returns on higher income.
With your disposable income (after tax) you pay VAT (like most countries, but the VAT is pretty high in Sweden as well, it various depending on product/service but most common is around 25%, all prices are and must be advertised with VAT to individuals however), then you have various fees like various environmental fees.
A classic example is 1 litre of gasoline (which of course is affected by most fees and taxes), the price you pay at the pump is around $2 per litre at the moment, out of which approximately 50% are taxes and fees.
It's also a bit misleading that most of these videos says healthcare etc is free, cause it's really not but it's highly subsidised, but it's technically not "free".
Is 53% the max? A while ago in the USA there was 70-75% tax above a certain salary (millions), can't remember the exact number. I'm all for even taxing 90% if you make 10M or more a year.
@@MaxSujyNorden For salary the cap is 53% as far as I know (and I think it’s pretty darn high regardless, it’s more than half of what you earn on every $ you earn above that breakpoint, regular inflation is around 1.5-2% each year and most people get a yearly raise that basically balances that, people that is above the breakpoint needs a raise at least twice that which as I wrote above results in even larger discrepancies between low/medium and high income.
However if you stash your assets on a bank account, buy/sell stocks etc there are other taxes involved, I don’t recall the exact rule but it’s high enough that very wealthy people tend to have their wealth “disappear” to accounts in tax heavens.

Even if we pay alot of taxes the different regions in Sweden that are responsibility for the healthcare are saving money by fire employees and other things. If you go to the emergency medical care you need to wait for hours to meet a doctor. So not everything is good in Sweden. Sweden right now have one of the highest unemployment in Europe. We also have the most shootings in whole of Europe.
Canada also have free healthcare and long waiting too!
Regarding the language, there would likely not be a problem with Swedish as the official language, English proficiency would still be great. I find it unlikely we would set English as the official language. What's most likely however is that all Nordic languages would become official languages. But the working languages would likely be Swedish, Norwegian and Danish, since those are mutually intelligible which Icelandic, Finnish aren't

When it comes to military defense, there is saying about Sweden but it applies to the rest of the nordic countries: they are ready to defend to the last Finn. It is a but gruesome but also very realistic. And we Finns understand where we are on the map. We hold the wall. Having the rest of the nordics just to back us up, provide safe haven for our children is already a HUGE relief. We need industrial and humanitarian resources in case of a war.

@@viktor9988 I think so too, but the reality of that still is that Finland forms the backbone of the Nordic military forces. And as a Finn: i get it. There is nothing to apologize, those are the cards that were dealt for us. Keep supplying us, keep our children safe that is all we can really ask. Rest is up to you.
Hiya, this is my thoughts on this: If you take a fictive man in America for example, and let's say he gets sick and hospitalized once in his life - if you add all the costs, all the different incurances, all the additional insurances, and probably more, then you will add up paying more. The difference is that with taxes, the money goes back to the people and to society and culture. And in the first case the money goes back to the companies - which can snowball the gaps even more.
Without trying to be political, but if you take capitalism as an ideology - it's neither good nor bad in itself. Unless you take any ideology and draw it to it's edge, then you will always get chaos basically. But the unhibited(?)/(without any restriants) capitalism will lead to that companies grow more powerful than sovereign nations. And since power always seek more power, there will be a gap between what companies want and what the people want - and that is dangerous, because they hollow out democracy. They will take the voice of the people, which leads them into apathy.
I don't think Sweden has a roof on it's capitalism. I don't know how really, but I think it should have to do with our socialism.
Generally Nordics are quite proud of their high taxes. There are always downsides to it ofc (like high taxes on gas, alcohol). But I think it also creates alot of rings on the water and many long term effect that is hard to grasp. You can only guess. But it does create alot of trust. And solaridarity....When I look at America I get shocked over how everyone seem to have a fend for themselves mentality....if you put up a tent on the wrong place in america you will be greeted with a gun, and sweden they will bring you a cup of coffee....It's about founding a healty collective self-image. What revolutionized Sweden was "Folkhemmet" in the 50s. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folkhemmet .....Sweden decided to turn things around after the war and the government took a quite holdhanding role (that sort of hold handing is still seen in different ways through the current system too). The current politic has it's roots in folkhemmet, but it has evolved and integrated with capitalism. Mostly for the better I think, even though I think they sometimes have taken it too far, like when they allowed private schools to make profits: turns out that will lead to a shitty education where the focus lies on profit and not students, and that company giants will sit and trade schools as if they were a deck of card.
I am a Socialist. I believe that when Sweden go wrong is where capitalist is involve in the thought process.

Our system is costing us a lot of money in taxes, but it gives us so much back.
For instance, the free school and university, means it is not the size of your wallet or your parents wallet, what kind of education you get, it all depends on you, how hard you work, that way everyone can choose their dream study and job, it is fantastic.
Here in Denmark, we even pay students to go to school, so that they can focus on their school work.
Sure we do not have a high enough birth rate, in part it is because of our free education, because it makes many people focus on their careers, and so they wait, and if you are 35 when you get your first child, it is not likely you will have more then 2 children. But there are as with everything, many different factors in play.
I think the capital would be a combination of Malmö and Copenhagen.
From the late 90 when I became 18 and could vote, and the first thing I voted on, was how involved Denmark should be in the EU, I wanted a nordic union instead, that would have been fantastic for us, we would still be our own sovereign countries, and have the benefits of being a very strong union.
And I definitely believe you sre right about those lists, when 3 of 5 countries rank in top 3, and the worst is ranked 20, it does not mean a combined 12 place, it would definitely be ranked in top 2.

I believe we are too proud of our viking heritage. We would never choose english if we were to have a common language. Many finns learn swedish and icelanders learn danish so no. We would speak scandinavian - a kind of swedish base with heavy dialects.
If the Nordic countries unite, it will not be a federal state, it will be a confederation like Swizerland. Thus, the location of the capital is not that important, although probably it would not be a national capital. Personally, I like the suggestions below that it would be Gothenburg. It could also just as well be a smaller city somewhere central.
There wouldn't be a need for a single language, and absolutely not English! That would be the most stupid thing to do - do we really want to sacrifice our cultures? If you are holding the spots 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th, how come you end up being the 4th?
Are the counturies placed at 5th, 7th and 8th going to be placed above you? I'm pretty good at counting and don't understand the math at all.
I would count it like this:
(1+2−1+3−2+4−3+6−4)÷5
=(1+1+1+1+3)÷5
=1,2 ~ the 1st.
Same about all of them.
For examplr, the Happiest ranking would be the 2nd happiest country:
(1+2−1+4−2+6−3+7−4)÷5=2 ~ the 2nd

And when you combine em the single countries would be removed from the list. Like they rank 4th in the world in happiness even if they hold the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th. Like there is only number 3 and 5 that is outside but somehow they rank worse that the worst when you combine em.... Like makes no sense to me his averages when he still keeps the countries in the top list.
Yes, if you do per average, no combination of countries end up on top. Even if the 5 countries are 1-2-3-4-5, it would average #3 which is ridiculous!

There is no neec for one single official language. Finland already have 2 official langues and swecen have beside of swedish 5 official minority languages.
About taxes, first your boss have to pay around 50% in arbetsgiavgift, then you gett payed, then food and other stuff have taxes, mostly around 25% and petrol are much more.
i pay tax from my income 10%. I'm like low middle class. Then there's mandatory health care tax which is like 10%. It depends how much you earn. It's called progressive taxing. Most well earning ppl so benefit most of the services like building roads to them, keep steady environment for business, so they might pay even 50%. That would be like ppl who earn 15 000€ per month. Ultra rich here are same as any country...they have means to avoid taxes.
Iceland had really bad economic crisis 2008. When usa let one big bank fall and pay trillions of dollars to companies and banks---it's socialism to big companies but normal ppl in usa it's misery. anyways Iceland was hit really bad. You can check it out how they made things work again if you want. Sweden with still growth and doing well with economy is having a trouble with immigrants. It's kinda sad bc they invented the nordic model and they are so nice. Luckily we finnish are introverts so nobody wants to come here lol. p.s. 5th or 6th time we suppose to be happiest country. Now let us do some magic. We can improve the development around the world by merging the 5 Nordic nation. If we merge 5 of those nations on that HDI list that also happen to be very high on said list we move every other nation that is lower on that list 4 spots up. So whatever nation that used to take up the 24th is now at 20. So that clearly must mean that nation now improved their development... So for the betterment of the rest of the world we should merge the nordic nations right away...

Yes that is true. High tax from 30+ % to 50+ %. And on your taxed money you pay for most things 25% and for alcohol and tobaco and some things up to 90%. So depending on what you spend money on you support government with some 750+ for 1000 earned.
I have to say that nothing is really free. We pay it in high taxes and also have student loans when finished. Also it is incredibly expensive in the north. Clothes, food and apartment rentals and owning is hopelessly expensive. Now we in Denmark experience that only the rich has money enough to live in Copenhagen.
The saying that we get free education is simply wrong. Nothing is free, but we all pay for some kind of security in health, education, unemployment situations etc.
It is more like a safety net.
In fact...many rich people also have the opportunity to get "free" education even though they are not in need. The rich gets richer and the poor get richer, it is just that the rich get a lot more richer than the poor.😋
Also we have a problem with people from eastern and southern Europe getting payed here when studying and never pays back when going home. In 2023 the bill left was 1,3000.000.000 Danish kroner. (1 dollar is 5 Danish kroner)

How she reacted, if she moved to any Scandinavian country. Everyone speak English. But many people from parts of the world that dont have the languague skills, have to rely on a man or woman to support and teach them. Dont get me wrong, but if I went to Thailand, (and many other countries) I could get a wife 20 years younger than me. All she wants .. is to get a better life. Wich she would. It's not all rainbows and sunshine here in Sweden, the free health care ain't free, 70% of your money get stolen through taxation, and for that I got to be in corridor's in the hospital awaiting to remove my appendix, I had to wait so long that my appendix bursted and infected my whole torso so I had to stay even more days in the corridor's. And everything fun is forbidden in Sweden, EVERYTHING! You are not allowed to hurt yourself so they have forbidden all I wanna do.

More relevant is the fact that they are lying. They might be a Swede, but a tax rate of 70 is a lie.
We do have high tax rates, but do the math with an American with similar income and look at net income, and the differences are really not that big.
That fact makes me question their entire post, but I find it extremely strange that they rage about being banned from hurting themselves. If you think that everything fun is banned, then your definition of fun might be the problem.

For example:
Employer's cost 39.5k (SEK) for 1 person.
Then out of that they pay 9.5k(Ish) in (employer fee/arbetsgivareavgifter)
So already here about 25% is taxed.
And then your sallary is 30k (SEK) BEFORE taxes.
They obviously this has to be taxed AGAIN. for about 9k (30% tax)
however here you get a tax decution because of Emplotment tax credit(Jobbskatteavdrag) so you get back roughly 3k from that 30% tax.
So your salary here then is roughly 24k (SEK) after these taxes are done. So out of the 39.5k, 15.5k is taxed. before you get your salary.
HOWEVER we are not done here.
Now its taxes on everything you purchase anywhere called Moms. (A 25% tax on pretty much everything which exceptions)
you just don't think to much about this tax because the mons is already included in all the prices you see in the store.
If you buy something for example food for 1k (SEK) 250 SEK of that is actually just another tax you pay.
With all of this included on average atleast out of your 24k (SEK) sallary 4-5k is spent on the Moms tax.
So started with 39.5k after all this included we end up with something like 19k (SEK) ish. Which is more then 50% taxes and this is just a average.
Then obviously there are stuff like gas which is like 50% taxes on. 1k (SEK) on gas is really just 500 (SEK) in taxes.
There are hidden taxes in the everyday life you don't think about as a regular person.
I doubt that BDSM is illegal in Sweden.
