Don't farm. Just play and fight everything you can fight with your current power level, pick up/loot everything in site and you'll gather shards faster than you'll realize. Farming is such a time waster and you rob yourself of the joys of playing.
I know it's a beginner guide but farming on ultra hard is a good idea like blaze and stuff like that. Mainly because of the price increase. It really just depends on how you play I hunt machines so I farm materials when I need to. Ha it's not even about the story for me since I've beaten it a few times already
Don't farm *if you dislike farming. I absolutely love farming in games even if it isn't "efficient" because I get longer enjoyment out of the game and feel stronger even tho I wasted time lol.
Farming mods with the right triple stat you want for gear and weapons probably the worst but I love killing thunder jaw and rock breakers plus they give good resources
What about people who like to be OP? The title of the video is literally made for those people. People who farm and actually enjoy grinding. How does anyone with the ability to think up vote your comment?
I'd invest in Expert Carver (requiring Shard Salvager) with your first 3 SP. Careful aim with a hunter arrow can pop a Watcher through the eye in one hit. Picking up the green warbow will get you shock arrows, and popping the power pack on the back of a scavenger will take it out. Neither is too far out for taking down with the spear if things get messy. I'd go Critical hit (Heavy spear attacks can knock down machines in the Embrace on a single hit), Silent Strike, and Concentration for the next three.
To offer an alternative to the advice not to farm: if you must farm, farm animal parts for all of your inventory container upgrades first, and then once you have upgraded everything, use animal parts for your main source of income. This lets you build up a large supply of ammo crafting parts naturally as you play, and once you have done that, you won't need to farm anything except herbs.
First scorcher is doable if you use a sharpshot bow (even green) from the rock outcrop right to the left of where you get to the scorcher's site. Just make sure you have enough shards for arrows and drop down to bring it back when it runs away.
I have also gone for the Tinker skill earlier than most. Main reason is that the best mods like damage and handling are dropped at a lower rate than others. Given the percentage game, those wimpy early 10% damage mods are actually kinda useful for the explosive tripcaster and blast sling. Both are very high damage. A wimpy 10% of a big number is still a decent buff. So those weapons get the hand me down coils, via tinker, from the primary weapons. Also, since Aloy is a lone wolf, nobody has her back (or flanks). Well, Mr Explosive tripwire, can have Aloy's back if used that way. So on your way to the Tinker skill you get the skill the pickup traps skill. So if machine(s) do not try to outflank you and you have tripwires protecting your flanks, then you can just pick them up.
The grazers in the first hunting grounds are another good resource. No one complains if you finish the remainder off either besides stripping your kills.
The best farming spot to mid max your gear of purple coils and sell the coils you don't need, including surplus of supplies while gaining tons of exp and shards, is the thunderjaws site near the tall neck. Just west of pitch cliff. 100% drop 3 purple coils per thunderjaw. You can hold 70 purple coils max. Then sell what you don't need. Open the loot treasure as well and sell the resources you don't need. You can farm 10,000 shards after selling the purple coils and treasure drops resources plus exp.
I think the best OP skilz to start off with are lure call and silent strike. This combo can 1hit most robots in the embrace to get you off to a good start. Watchers, strikers and scrappers are no problem with some mild patience and an occasional rock to distract when lure call is out of range.
One of the things that you can do in the game to help you is turn on One phobia meaning you would hate to drown Now this will not complete your swimming Quest but you will not die because you stay under water too long

Chaz sends the new folks into the Frozen Wilds asap?! Scorcher is very happy to welcome you, so sneak fast! Also, the friendly Banuk are not bothered when you loot the heck out of all the available crates in their settlements, so have at it along the way to your bluegleam. You hit both my early favorite resource farming spots already, so I got nothing to add there except I cannot wait for the new-to-HZD no animation resource gathering! All terrific tips for fresh starts, Chaz. I have stacked so many ng+ games and have a fresh one ready, but I'm going to at least play through the intro one more time to see the remaster in action.
The best option to farm coils and shards is the 'Hammer and Steel' quest, this quest is bugged and it hasn't been fixed for years now and the new remastered game has the same bug.
Glitch exploit for shards (may require testing to see if patched out on remaster or not): Drop potions and traps from inventory. Pick up these dropped items. For some reason, the inventory will multiply the number dropped on pick up. Can repeat ad nauseam to duplicate traps and potions. Traps and potions can be sold to merchants for profit.
@@chazmatazzgames it’s still working for me. It took doing it once fully with no results and then again to get it going. Be sure to drop everything from your traps and potions inventory all at once. This gives a better chance at duplication.
@@annejohnstone7843 I read that you can use your original HZD game saves to transfer into the Remastered, so if you do that, you can just replay with full everything and shield weaver outfit to enjoy the improved graphics - something I am thinking of doing.
I have stacked almost 300 hours in this gaming farming mods for making gear and weapons op. All gear and wepons have limits best for the hunter bow with fire and impact arrows is max damage and fire best you can with some handling as most levels and medium machines will dot kill. Shield weaver gear doesn't come with mods slots even in ng+ sad face lol my favorite is banuke chieftain for 95% of the game as free healing even on UH
When Aloy places a form of trap or trip caster line. The max is 30 placements. Anything past 30 will disappear. Tripcaster count as 2 as you mentioned other traps count as one. Say you put down 12 Tripcaster lines - 24 is your trap count. You can put down 6 more other traps for a 30 max count.
@@chazmatazzgames, there is a purple mod farm that involves a mission from Petra where she needs behemoth cables. This mission sets up a farm that doesn't end until you turn those behemoth cables in to Petra to end it or you finish your play through. Let me know if you want to learn it. It should work with the remaster
I've found that the only limits to tripcaster wires happen in the cauldrons. If I try to place more than 12 wires or traps they start to disappear. This doesn't happen in the open world
Enjoy. It definitely got a great story. Best in slot blast sling is from hunters lodge which 15 3rd place medals gets you. There the chieftain gear and shied weaver gear which definitely must haves. The larger machines like stormbirds, thunderjaws, rock breakers, and behemoths all give purple mods for weapons and gear some have 3 stats but all random. Getting the Banuk weapons early on feels a little bit like cheating to me. I have decided to try to finish the main game first without the DLC weapons this time. I'm curious to see if I can really do it, because on UH the regular weapons (and also other items like the fast travel pack) are way more expensive. I re trophy hunted game for the ps5 so had to start over you can definitely go up earlier than 30 with gear and weapons level 25 cause that's when I went up. Definitely a challenge but wanted the weapons and armor like chieftain for the auto heals. This was also on hard setting so it's doable at lower than 30 level and if you got the skills
HZD: whistle and doesn't activate your tripwires FW: whistle is no more and you get damaged if you run through your tripwire. It feels like games kind of go backwards when they do a sequel.
It's called balance. Whistle made rocks mechanic obsolete and damage to yourself adds to realism. The amount of tripwires got nerfed and the time they could be active went from unlimited to 20 seconds or so, for the balance. It feels like it sucks because as a player you've found cool in-game mechanic that can make your playthrough easier. But having some overpowered things is usually bad.
