You're not alone Nate I'm battling stage 4 kidney failure myself it started for me at age 42 yrs old. I didn't know what was going on with me I kept vomiting and in constant pain when I went to the doctor and went through all kinds of test and when my lab results came back that's when I found out that my kidneys were failing the urologist also discovered a mass in my lower back that caused my kidneys to fail, I under went surgeries and the mass is still there I was told that the mass was so hard inside me the doctors could only chip pieces of off and have it tested its non cancerous and now I'm at the age 54 yrs old. I have to have infusion treatments to shrink the mass. By the grace of God I'm still here take it one day at a time I enjoy it like it's my last. God bless.
I was diagnosed with kidney failure when I was 17 years old. I was on dialysis for 2 years. I finally received a kidney transplant. I have had this kidney transplant for 23 going on 24 years. I am very thankful for my gift. Keep fighting the fight Nate.
I take them for life. Prednisone effects my glucose levels and can get cataracts. I currently take a small dosage. Prograf I use to have hand tremors. That was when I started taking them. I don't have that problem. Cellcept I would have a loose stool. My doctor reduced the dosage. Now I don't have any problems with my anti rejection meds.
I just lost a cousin to kidney failure. He was only 47. My cousin came to visit my mom on Mother's Day in May, he was in a wheel chair and couldn't get into or out of the chair without help. When he and I spoke about his condition, he said.."You know I exercised a lot but I eat shitty foods. My high blood pressure did this." About 3 weeks later, he was gone. That was the last time that I saw him alive. We buried him about 4 weeks later and after the service....our family served the very same foods which ended my cousin's life (fried chicken, mac and cheese, greens, all loaded with salt). My take and I give this to you......please watch your diet. High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, kidney disease and some forms of cancer.....are completely preventable with diet and exercise. Exercise is important but....take it from my cousin Chris....you can't out exercise a bad diet. More whole grains, beans/nuts, lean meats, fatty fish, fresh fruits and veggies.....less fried foods, red meat and processed foods. I truly hope that this saves your life and the lives of those whom you love.

Obviously I admire his courage and wish him recovery (and a transplant, which sounds like it would help the most). But I have to wonder if PEDs were involved in this. Apparently they can place great strain on the kidneys because one acquires muscle mass so fast. I personally believe that basketball (along with tennis and some other sports that mostly avoided scandal) had a steroid era just like baseball, but that it never came to light. NBA players' bodies changed so dramatically in the last 30 years, and I wonder what kind of experimentation with these dangerous enhancers was taking place. Again, we're talking about a 5'9" guy who could literally jump out the gym...

In tears. Praying for you brother thanks for what you’ve impacted my life
Thanks, Nate, for all the great memories you and the boys (Jamal, Marbury, David Lee, Curry, Q-Rich, Jeffries and all the rest) gave us. Many times, you had me jumping out of my seat at one of your plays. God bless.
As a kidney donor 11 years ago it's the greatest thing I did in donating. So much pride and joy from saving a life. Something that I just can't explain. My mom is still alive as well. It was such an easy thing in and out of the hospital in a day at 35 years old when I did it. I try my best to always speak of the procedure and process to educate others of how easy it was and how incredible the power is to save another humans life
Good 4 u man
You're a good person D_K.
God bless you
Not all hero’s wear capes Godbless you fr 💯
@@Westcoastguy gosh I really was not anticipating or requesting the love. I'd rather have everyone know you can live a comfortable life with 1 kidney. It hurts me when I hear someone on dialysis or dying from this...
He won the dunk contest, and boxed in the ring doing sports that he has never done and always had the biggest heart win or lose he never cheated no one else especially himself. We love you Nate!
Nate Rob is the reason I knew I would be dunking one day, growing up in Seattle being a 5'9 guy myself I would watch him win the Dunk Contest and be nothing but inspired. Thank you Nate you did what you set out to do AND MORE!
They say, “You are what you eat.” But for Nate, I’d say YOU ARE AMAZING. You’ll get through this I believe in that.
He’s a good dude, I talked to him every once in a while at the grocery store I worked at. Never knew him on a personal level but he seemed really humble. Even though he would come in right before we closed so he can shop in peace, he would always take pictures with fans when they asked. Props to him and hope the best for him.
Shout out to Nate Robinson. No matter how much money, how healthy, how successful you are. Appreciate your time with your family and friends. Give back to those who don't have anything. The things we take for granted bro. Stay happy and healthy yall. Shoutout to Nate for telling his story and making us aware.
We love you Nate. A legend forever.
Was in the hospital a while back for kidney stones, pain was so bad that I was on a wheelchair. Had to make changes to my diet. I’m right here with you Nate.

Wow! Thank you for sharing this. My father in law was diagnosed with kidney failure a few years back. He was so blessed to receive a kid transplant in June of 2020. It has been a difficult journey for him and our family with many ups and downs. God has been our stronghold through it all. Thanks for sharing your story, Nate! I know he’s sick bro but at this time people need truth your just saying this because he’s sick he’s not better than the real big 3 bulls Jordan, pippin, rose
@@poohlife6359 what’s the point of this ? He said “ his top 3” not the universal top 3 of the bulls …

I remember growing up watching State of Nate videos all the time. Watched all his highlights and all his dunk contests. Only person to ever win da dunk contest 3x , 5’9 amongst da giants and pure heart. Not only did his videos get me thru certain times in life but taught me perseverance.. Blessings n Prayers🙏🏻 #SON #NateTheGreat #HeartOverHeight #Holdat
It's so humbling to hear his story that answered so many questions to his fans like me and millions of others and truly shows why his nickname is "Nate the Great"!! Playing with him in the hs all-star game all I seen was greatness without even a hint of anything other than "he can go to the NFL or the NBA" but somehow he found a way to shine even brighter!! God i pray u heal this great man and shine even bigger thru him!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Always a fan of Nate since college super athlete. Sending prayers your way and to all who are suffering from this or any illness.
God bless you Nate! As a family full of little dudes. Me and my dad would root you on like a hometown hero. You always made me feel like I had chance. Sending my prayers
