Kobe Bryant's Come Up with Darius Miles and QRich | Knuckleheads S2: Ep 1 | The Players' Tribune
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 май 2024
- Season 2 is finally here! Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles returns in a huge way, with Kobe Bryant, aka “the Mamba,” joining the fellas. The three get right down to business, with Kobe talking about being the first guard to jump to the NBA straight out of high school, as well as about draft night -- specifically how the Hornets pissed him off before trading him to the Lakers. He then describes what it was like to be a teenager in a “grown man’s” league and how, in the long run, that was crucial to his success. The guys then ask him about his first All-Star Game, when he went up against MJ, and when Western Conference coach George Karl benched him for the entire fourth quarter. Kobe would go on to use Karl’s snub for years as a motivator whenever L.A. faced the Nuggets in the playoffs. “The Black Bruce Wayne” also explains how he developed his arsenal of basketball weapons, and how he matured into “the baddest man on the planet.” Kobe then discusses why he switched from wearing number 8 to number 24 - and why it was so important to him. And remember the time Kobe had 61 at the Garden? Well, it didn’t just happen. He says there was a reason he needed to go off like that, and divulges how that performance was crucial to the Lakers’ success the rest of that season. He then talks about teaching his daughter the game, and how cool it has been for him to coach her team. Finally, Kobe touches on battling through injuries and gives advice to anyone going through physical rehab. You won’t hear a more unfiltered version of Kobe anywhere! Season 2. Live now!

@J calling his teammates soft should be counted as motivation
people dont realize how bad kobe was when he came into the nba and how long he must of worked to get respect from a team with jones shaq and exel on it..they never were going to give it to him he had to take it...like seriously he was the kid ...and he took it so seriously...wish more people cared like he did from 1999-2010...he gave it his all...
@@razkable "people dont realize how bad Kobe was when he came into the nba" Kobe was ranked number 1 in highschool he definitely wasn't bad his coach just didn't like him and the team was pretty good. But what I was say about Kobe (being his biggest fan) is that his work ethic out way his talent. Kobe didn't had Lebron or MJ level talent but he had the drive even at a young age to reach that level. Also say you wish more people care no one cared as much as Kobe no one worked harder so you can't compare players to Kobe but people do care some names like Giannis, Jimmy and so on and they work hard.
There’s only a few people I can think of that dedicated everything to their sport, didn’t drink smoke or party and worked 24/7. Kobe, Mayweather Jr and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hit me hard
Bruh I love how petty Kobe is "I would never let the Nuggets win a playoff series because George Karl wouldn't play me in the 4th Quarter of the 1998 all star game" lmao
Nothing new. Plenty of that during his career. Kobe wasn't a player to forgive, much less forget, anything he perceived as disrespect. If you did something to him he'd make sure he'd come back at you and make you bleed for it.
The best instance wasn't the nuggets nor George Karl. He destroyed the Nuggets in the playoffs he matched up against them. Had Karl not been the coach, he'd been out on a mission to destroy them anyway - it's playoffs mentality after all, right?. Of course that little extra motivation being there would spice things up but I don't think he'd played with any less focus had it been any other coach.
But the best instance... see. He DESTROYED the Mavericks in 05/06 scoring 62 in three quarters. In a freakin' game played in DECEMBER, not in playoff contetion, not in the off season...but when it wasn't even the middle of the regular season. Dude scored more points in three quarters than the whole other team collectively. He dropped **62 points in 32 minutes** He was everywhere. He was making fools out of everyone in the Mavs. They tried everything to stop him. Double teams, triple teams, shoving, pushing, EVERYTHING, he didn't care, he went on dropping points. And he was playing for an awful Lakers team against the eventual finalists of the NBA - it wasn't like playing a group of tanking morons taking it easy.
It was savagery on a scale rarely seen before or after. People talk all the time about Toronto and the 81pts game. I saw that game live. I swear he'd gone for 90 had he played the fourth quarter, but instead he chose to sit down and rest for the remainder of the game. For me it was his best scoring performance ever. Dirk Nowitzki rates it as the best individual performance he's ever witnessed on a basketball court.
The reason?. The Mavs was coached by Avery Johnson, but one of his assistants was Del Harris. Del Harris was Kobe's coach in LA for his two first pro seasons, the guy who was benching him most of the time on the first one, and didn't play him as much as he should have on the 2nd one.
And Bryant dropped 62 effing points in three effin' quarters of a regular season game (not playoffs - regular season) on them because of his beef with an **ASSISTANT COACH** on the other team who had not put him as a starter on his two first pro years in LA. Something that had happened **8 years before**.
I'm not sure if it was pettyness. I'd rather say that Kobe would settle his scores against you no matter what, no matter how, and not matter how long it'd take him to do it - but he'd see them settled. That's something I actually admire on that cat. But come on...tearing up your team, outscoring it in three quarters, because you are it's ASSISTANT COACH who didn't start him 8 YEARS EARLIER?... that's revenge taken to some ludicrous levels XD
ramjb oh it’s competition and etc but there is a level of pettiness that has to be taken into consideration
George Parker Facts bro. Compete
Latrell Hassell nah. Petty is for excuse makers. Every head knows when they do somebody dirty. There is no momentary blindness. Reap what you sow

To this day I’m still inspired to do anything in my life hearing Kobe speak about anything. Solidified GOAT after this video hands down. Two way killer who was going to give you 40 that night and still hold you under 5 points on the other end. No one can match the level Kobe is at for me ever.

Kobe Bryant would’ve made a great NBA Commissioner. The way he talks about the game tells me everything I need to know.
"It's a competition, I'm here to destroy you" - Mamba ... That mentality is bar none.
Listening to Kobe break down the triangle offense and the way the defense reacts to it brings a new meaning to dedication Dude’s crazy
He's not crazy it's just being a student of the game.
He's been playing and studying the game damn near his whole life he better be able to know how the defense reacts.
If yall don't know, his work ethic is INSANE.
Makes me respect Tex Winter even more for creating the offense
@@iamking7134 he and Tex Winter used to sit and watch game film for HOURS. Not the broadcasted game with commentary but the game film from different camera angles.
DMiles asking great questions. MJ and Kobe are the 2 greatest players I’ve ever seen. The NBA has never seen two players with the offensive and defensive arsenal of these two.
Kawhi Leonard
Lebron is alive
Java Joe_Gaming lebron is not defensive
And Kobe ain’t close to MJ
@@mobilegoon10 what!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
This video definitely brought a smile but also a tear when Q called hime the Black Bruce Wayne taking helicopters😢
Loved the outro when they said “this is HALL OF FAME. Top 3 of ALL TIME”
Kobe is intense 24/7 😂
