I wish Audible service was like Netflix, you can listen to any book for a monthly service. I don't want to pay extra and buy books after paying for the subscription. I think this industry will eventually evolve too.
I don't think it will evolve to this unless either 1. They get viable competition or 2. Piracy puts more pressure on them (won't happen in the audiobook space)
I asked the lady if I finished a book early and wanted to exchange my credit for another one she said I could..this is okay but why can't this be like a Netflix instead of the confusing credit system..they would have so many more subscribers
They want to steal your credits .. and not give you the money you paid for them. In the past ... in the past, credits over 6 were not allow.. recently they've decided they can steal your credits and not refund your money after 1 year. I suspect this is Amazon's doing... I am now boycotting Amazon because of it. Grrrrrr
*I absolutely love Audible. However, I only use it for self-help books. I like to listen to them in the gym, in the car, on my bike. They really put the content in my mind.* *But when it comes down to fiction stories, I am a hard-core-paper-back guy. I just like having the ability to read all of the characters in different voices in my head.*
I too don't read fiction as much as I would like to nowadays (with the company, school, youtube) but it's still nice to get away for a minute every now and then. If it's a matter of time for you, I'd recommend "the deal of a lifetime'' - Fredrik Backman. It's a 60-ish page book with illustration and it's a bit odd but it still gets you thinking.
Well, it's a "we" now. I've got a few people working together now and we focus mainly on the newest and hottest investment trends and opportunities so there is always something to talk about. We also managed to break through the 1000 sub resistance line (lol) and just keeping at it! How about you? You have had some massive growth this past 6 months!
I love audiobooks because they help me A LOT to improve the languages I speak and I also learn other stuff as well, however, I find this premium membership so unfair, The reason why Spotify and Netflix work is because we can enjoy as much as we want per month by paying just one price. If you limit your client over your products, I will prefer buy the physical book because at least I can keep it and lend it to anyone I know.
I thought with the subscription fee, I could listen to as many books as I want for the month, you still have to buy books excluding the 1 free credit book you get? Hard pass lmfao
I was considering getting Aidible but was concerned about whether I can keep my books if I decide to cancel. Came accross your video and it was a BIG help. Thanks for the info. I am heading over to sign up today!
F*%$ Audible.com. Let me tell you my experience with them. Maybe this channel can help me out. I paid for 24 audio books; they gave me 2. They took $240 dollars from me, and gave me two audiobooks! They promise one "free" audiobook per month for a subscription that costs $19.99 per month. So, twenty dollars per audiobook. I paid for two years and only downloaded two books, when my credit card expired. Audible cancelled my subscription and gave me... nothing! I said to them, "You owe me 22 audiobooks." They said, "The maximum number you can accumulate is three." Three! Why?! For what purpose other than to screw people? I said, "Fine, you bastards! Give me my three!" They said, "Not until you sign up all over again with a new, valid, credit card number." You think I'm trusting these bastards with a new credit card? Seriously, this channel is taking money from the Devil.
The Power of Habit is an amazing book. Maybe you were busy doing chores and was difficult for you to concentrate on the book. I recommend you to read without multitasking
I don't know if Audible is a good idea. You need to pay 3 times: 1) Monthly payment 2) Buying audio book and 3) If you wanna reading at the same time that you listen de audio you have to pay for the written book as well.
Ok so here's my question. I didn't have time to read through your comments, this may been asked Already. If so, I apologize. here's what I thought Audible was... a library of audio books, That my monthly payment of $15, allows me to browse and listen to any book within this library of books, whenever I choose to.. is that the way it works? Kinda like Netflix? Or does the 15 get me a free book then discounts on other books in their library but no unlimited browsing like I assumed it worked?
I have been wondering how Audible works and you cleared up all of my questions. thanks so much. I subscribed because I want to hear more of your thoughts on various contents. Thanks. Awesome job!!
I'm with them from 2016 and I forgot about it from 2017 now I returned to find that I only have 6 credit only. paid monthly from 2016 and only I get 6 credit???
I signed up for the free 30 day trial, but then cancelled, after one book. do i still have to pay a monthly fee if I cancelled before the trial is up? Just trying to make sure im understanding this
The short answer is no. If you cancel before your free trial period is up, you don't have to pay anything. If you cancelled after the trial period though, then yes you do. And as Honest Finance said, if you bought a book with your free credit or credits within the trial period, but cancelled in the trial period window, you still get to keep your book. Hope that helps
Funny. The Power Of Habit was my first Audible book, and I totally agree it starts off really boring, but definitely gets better and I'm really enjoying it. Thanks for your video.
@honest finance - Your videos are great! Amazing level of details, very clear articulation and complete! (Maybe if videos were a little shorter would be even nicer)
With audible... I’ll just give you a scenario... Say I preview a book, decide I want to listen to it then halfway through the book I don’t want to finish it bc I’ve lost interest. I know I can choose another book. But what if it takes me 3 -100 books (I’m kidding about 100 lol!) to settle on the one I want to listen to AND actually finish? Basically...What’s the limit amount of books you can start reading and then no longer want to finish it? It’s happened before where I start reading an actual book, make it halfway and lose interest. Then I’ll pick up another book that looks like something I’d like, but a few chapters in I also don’t like it. Hard to please I guess 😂 I’m also not sure how the credits work? Starting with 1 credit, does that mean if I’ve read (listened) to 5 books in a month, I can keep 1 of them in my library? And not all 5? Or...do they allow you to only get 1 credit for 1 book and after that you need to buy more credits or wait until the next month to get the next “1” credit? I know I can listen to an entire book I’m just a few sittings. So does that mean I have to wait until the next month to be able to select another book? What if I want to listen to 20 books a month? Ahhhhh......So many questions... SO many books! 🙂
I don’t know how strict they are with return quantities , but you can return books if you don’t like them. And it’s one credit per month. So if you use it up, you’ll need to buy more, wait till next month, or set up a different plan that allows for more credits
There are hundreds if not thousands of audiobooks right here on RUclips for free. Also, Librivox is free and best when you search by your favorite narrators. With my $10 a month kindle unlimited subscription I get lots of ebooks that also have audio. Problem with Audible is two books a month isn’t enough. Books are generally 7-12 hours so you’ll fly through that in 1-4 days.
I love audible. I wish more grown ups understood how good it is for kids. I read books, too - but audible is so great for kids to read harder stuff - and also you can do chores and stuff while you read. And parents let you do it way more than TV!
Thanks man. Disliking is better than nothing :) I’m glad you enjoyed it and please share it if you feel the need, because that’ll help me tremendously.
I would like this for listening at work. But that price seems fairly steep even though it's not bad, it's just a wad ($230 for 24 books). >.< I wish there was only a $5-$10 a month fee and you could use it like Spotify.
I have the audible trial and listened to one book in just one day lol is there anyway to be able to listen to unlimited amount of books because I'd probably listen to at the very least 10 a month .. I'm new to this so not quite sure how it all works but I am a big reader ! Please let me know
Got a question for you. Something I'm facing. If I could give you a strategy to gain over 200k subs in 3 months (make a video a day) but it wouldn't be around the content you like doing videos on (but close) would you do it? Along with an extra $20k a month.
I’m assuming you were asked this?? If I didn’t work full time, then I might be interested (but it sounds like a scam). Also, how can anyone guarantee that you’ll gain 200k subs in one month?
I don't see responses - I emailed you this - I wasn't asked this, no one is guaranteeing this but I've been watching some youtube friends grow like this
We both know how hard videos are to make. Doing one a day would kill me! I think my brain would explode because I have a hard enough time just nailing one line at a time for stuff that I like talking about. BTW, that’s so cool that you randomly got to the top of reddit. That site is so crazy to me
If it’s real, then go for it. Just don’t mess up your family because of youtube. And if you want to see these comments, just use the main RUclips app and check your inbox.
I do (use inbox) but 50% of the time I don't get notifications :/ yeah the numbers are real, it was like watching you go from where you're at to 240k subs, and I'm just sitting there going nah I'm not doing it....now I'm like errrr....maybe I will....
excellent video-thanks!!! question if i buy a book (paper or hardcover) from amazon do i automatically get a copy of it in audiable? i know it seems odd to have a hard and audio copy of a book and there is a reason for it wont go into here i just wondered if i would have to purchase the book 2 times? tia!
Actually perfect you would mention Harry Potter. The reason I'm doing my research on an Audible subscription is because I have gotten the first one for free through a trial and I loved it. So I wanted to make my research before I paid for a sub. I need to ask though! Can I only listen to books bought with Credits or can I listen to any book on their website?
Thanks for the video! It was very useful. However the reason why I found you was bc didn't find it was easy to navigate and get to know how audible works. So that's a critic that I give as a feedback to them.
hi..im new to all this stuff..can someone pls explain a nice alternative where I only BUY WHAT I USE..cheers!!!!..not a fan of this monthly fee garbage
I don’t understand… the free books aren’t really free because your monthly fee pays for it? Aren’t you just paying for your books each month via a subscription fee anyway?
Good explanation! I borrow my audio books from the library and they use the libby app. My problem is they want it back in 21 days and then it disappears. Depending on my life it may not be enough time as i read physical books and use a kindle also and only use the audio book in certain circumstances. My question is is there a place I could just buy an audio book without a subscription like you do with a physical book?
You definitely don't want Audible. You lose your monthly "free" book (that you paid for with your subscription) if you don't download it before their deadline.
I want to have more knowledge but I dont want to read books. I wish I can download thousands of book into my brain at 1TBps speed. Is there any startup at Silicon Valley that focuses on implementing my wish?
Elon Musk's company called Neuralink looks to be the only company trying to achieve that, which might take a while. But until then, looks like Audible is my best bet. Thanks for the information, Jason!
Unfortunately, it's very difficult to use Audible with a Windows 10 computer as they no longer offer a player. You have to go to IOS or Android or (maybe) iTunes. Online it works somewhat. In order to use it offline you would have to convert the aax files to mp3 files.
How do you cancel? Looked up 3 books. Shadowrun, Android, Dungeons and Dragons. They didn't have a single one. Not to sure I'm going to like this service if i sign up
All you have to do is sign up, get your free books, then cancel within 30 days before you get charged for your first month. If they are popular books, audible will have them in their inventory. Here’s the link. amzn.to/2QIBUso
thank you not sure if you covered this mate but can you listen offline? sounds stupid but did you cover not having a subscription so purchasing a book without account does this allow you to keep them?
Audible doesn't have an unlimited plan but Kindle does. They offer over 1 million books and you pay by the year. Here's a link if you're interested. amzn.to/2Dxz2uW
It’s all cloud based. Just open up an account online and you’ll have your books on your computer, tablet or phone whenever you want them. No CD’s anymore. Here’s a link to get two free audiobooks. amzn.to/2QIBUso
@@edmikhael1 You can only listen to the books that you've purchased in your Audible library. However, Amazon has Kindle Unlimited, which let's you read as much as you'd like. I'm not sure how big their audio library is, but you can try it for free for 30 days. Here's a link. amzn.to/2r9Q6Qy
The way its marketed i thought you pay $15 a month and you could stream any and all books they have plus it gives you 1 credit a month towards a book you can keep even if you cancel the subscription. It seems thoug that you pay $15 a month to buy one book a month?
Fantastic review! I'm a complete technophobe so bear with me. If I subscribe to Audible I can save my books direct into the app but I have to connect to the Internet to listen to them? Or, I can download them direct to my phone in which case I don't need to connect to the Internet to listen to them? I know this is subjective but, roughly how much space does a book take up on a phone? I'm thinking of buying a 2nd phone just for books that has 64gig of memory. Tia & much ❤️
I’m completely confused..so you pay for a subscription and get one credit a month? You can get one book with one credit? If you want to read a second book that month you have to pay for the whole book?
So I just want to make sure I heard right. We get one credit a month for $15 which we can use on any book but if I cancel my subscription let's say in 6 months do I get to keep the 6 books that I used the credits on?
Hey there. Thanks for the information on how Audible works. I have be curious about it for a bit. Quick question for you. you mentioned how there alternate subscription options, including a 23 a month option or a full annual payment option to get a large number of books at once. I am having trouble find links to pages discussing those options. Would you mind throwing me a link to whatever page you use to look at the alternate subscription options? Thank you for the help.
I love audible and I'm glad we have a cheep way to own audio books I like owning things (especially my entertainment) because I am the type to re watch/ listen to the things I like over and over. I have seen the 6 Star Wars movies between 100 and 200 times I've listen to some of my favourite books as many as 10 times and counting. If I actually enjoy a piece of entertainment I will re watch at least a 3 times and I hate having to always have subscription services going to satisfy my entertainment needs. If tomorrow I went broke and had to cut out all my expenses while I scrounge for job I'd still be able to watch tons of movies and TV play a bunch of video games and listen to lots of books that would keep me happy but If I just had a few subscription services like netflix than I'd be completely out of content and that would suck and especially with netflix its a big contract game you never know if that really cool show you found will still be there later so yeah I like to own stuff. Also the large fantasy books that I tend to enjoy are around $30 at the cheap end and go up to around $70 so the credit system is amazing for me and according to my favourite author even when using credits he still gets a very fair cut and is happy with audible as a system so I don't have to feel guilty that I am not supporting the authors I enjoy listening to. I have a massive wish list of books that I haven't gotten to buying yet so eventually if I ever clear out all the books I am interested in then I will just cancel my subscription and there is zero downside
It says that I get one book for free. If I get it do I completely get that book for free or do u have to pay for some membership after?? Please answer!!!
So what if you read/ listen to 2-4 books a week that could get very $$$. Im in a job where i can listen to stuff when i work so i have a lot time and i dont want it to be music all the time
If i have amazon prime do i need to pay for audible? I've seen that with amazon prime you get audible channels. What is the difference between audible and audible channels??
I wish Audible service was like Netflix, you can listen to any book for a monthly service. I don't want to pay extra and buy books after paying for the subscription.
I think this industry will eventually evolve too.
It probably will. Gaming is moving that direction and movies too. I love my music subscription
I don't think it will evolve to this unless either 1. They get viable competition or 2. Piracy puts more pressure on them (won't happen in the audiobook space)
Same.. really dont need to keep the book, would rather just check it out and check it back in.
Wow looks like I’m not the only one. I guess they’re just waiting for someone to become the next Netflix of the books world.
Try Storytel. The library is much smaller than Audible's, but it's cheaper and works like Netflix.
Thanks for watching!! Here's the link for the free books if you want to try Audible. bit.ly/AudibleFreeTrial_HF
"...Because if the narrator sucks, you can just look for a new one"
hahaha. That made me laugh out loud 🤣🔥
They lie, you cannot just look for a new one. Audible will lock up your ability to return any future books.
This is my 4th video, and this is the finest explanation video of audible. Finally got my doubts cleared✌️✌️
Hey thank you very much :)
Enjoy the video on Audible. I hope it helps

Could you please explain if you know? Today audible charged 14 dollar Canadian which is says Gold membership. Merci 🙏🏽
That probably just means that you’re subscribed on auto
I asked the lady if I finished a book early and wanted to exchange my credit for another one she said I could..this is okay but why can't this be like a Netflix instead of the confusing credit system..they would have so many more subscribers
It’s probably the publishers fault that it can’t work like Netflix. Maybe one day ;)

It's so they can fairly compensate all those involved in the production of the work.
Library apps are free and unlimited. Overdrive or Libby. You'll never waste your money again.

Good point. I literally haven’t read fiction in like 10 years, so I’ve never even thought about that. It’s all self-help for me
How is your channel doing? Lots to talk about now that the market has been going nuts

And if you want to read you need to buy the book as well. That means, you have to pay 3 times.
How many books do you think you’ll go through in a month? Like honest to god listen to all the way through
RyandBurtson WAAAAYYY too many for this limited system of ‘credits’.
Yeah they are freaking expensive.
@Lily Dorian You pay for monthly subscription too

Question. Audible vs. buying kindle book with narration. Same audible recording, but with whisper sync and sometimes cheaper
Can you download books and listen to them offline in the free trial
Yes you can
excellent video-thanks!!! question if i buy a book (paper or hardcover) from amazon do i automatically get a copy of it in audiable? i know it seems odd to have a hard and audio copy of a book and there is a reason for it wont go into here i just wondered if i would have to purchase the book 2 times? tia!
No , Audible is a separate purchase. Unless you upgrade a kindle kindle purchase, you’ll have to buy the book twice
Only books you own from purchase or credits
Ameising!!! thanks men!!
Do we have to subscribe first before buying the $230 for 24 credits?
No. When you say go up, you’ll pick your plan
Great review!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
No problem. Glad it helped
You must be using a teleprompter, not one word or sentence was missed, but above all……great eye contact with the viewer.
Maybe my newer content is different now :)
@@HonestFinance - I have never come across your channel before……but one thing is for sure……”you are dress……to impress”. Count me in as a subscriber.
If you are a member and then decide to cancel, do you get to keep the free downloads as well?
Yes you get to keep it
@@HonestFinance Cool! Thank you :)
The problem is that I listen to 2 audiobooks a week. So, what are my other options?
You might want to just go to your local library if you read that much
Scribdt is unlimited for 9 a month
Thanks for the video! It was very useful. However the reason why I found you was bc didn't find it was easy to navigate and get to know how audible works. So that's a critic that I give as a feedback to them.
Same here. The only thing you can do on their website is subcribe.
How did you not like the power of habit 😂. That’s my favorite. Also great video 👍
I read it again and I do like it now 😎
Ok lol I’m glad! Amazing work btw! 👏👏👏
Hey thank you !!
hi..im new to all this stuff..can someone pls explain a nice alternative where I only BUY WHAT I USE..cheers!!!!..not a fan of this monthly fee garbage
You can always buy one book at a time on audible without a subscription
@@HonestFinance oh wow i didnt know that..thanks!!!
I don’t understand… the free books aren’t really free because your monthly fee pays for it? Aren’t you just paying for your books each month via a subscription fee anyway?
Yes, but the initial free book for trying out the service is free and you get to keep it if you cancel
Just buy them on Apple book store, google book store or audible too. You don’t have to be subscribed to buy books with them
You definitely don't want Audible. You lose your monthly "free" book (that you paid for with your subscription) if you don't download it before their deadline.
Who is best audible or scribdt
Well explained 💯👌
Thank you very much
Thank you!
You’re very welcome!
Does it have a notification on an audio book that they don't have, but it becomes available?
I don’t think they do
Unfortunately, it's very difficult to use Audible with a Windows 10 computer as they no longer offer a player. You have to go to IOS or Android or (maybe) iTunes. Online it works somewhat. In order to use it offline you would have to convert the aax files to mp3 files.
I learned about the return policy from your video, Also learned that I got Homo Deus more than a year ago.
I remember being bullied for listening to audio books because of my dyslexia.
That’s ridiculous. I’m sorry
I'm sure the bullies didn't read or listen to Audiobooks.
So can I buy any book no matter the cost with credits? Like can one credit buy a 50 dollar book for example
Thank you, Honest Finance.
You’re very welcome :)
Honest Finance pp
Can you follow along in the book while it is being read to you?
I’ve never seen that feature, but maybe
thank you not sure if you covered this mate but can you listen offline? sounds stupid but did you cover not having a subscription so purchasing a book without account does this allow you to keep them?
You keep the books without a subscription and you have to download them, so you’ll always have em offline :)
Is there a premium one time fee based plan? I'd ideally like to pay a single amount once and use the service till the end of time.
Audible doesn't have an unlimited plan but Kindle does. They offer over 1 million books and you pay by the year. Here's a link if you're interested. amzn.to/2Dxz2uW
Do they send you the book on CD or do you have to download the book on to CD yourself?
It’s all cloud based. Just open up an account online and you’ll have your books on your computer, tablet or phone whenever you want them. No CD’s anymore. Here’s a link to get two free audiobooks. amzn.to/2QIBUso
Thank you for the wonderful video.
Question, can I read books without buying them? or am I allowed only what I download
I don’t quite get what you mean? Can you rephrase the question?
Honest Finance can I listen to unlimited books or just one per month?
@@edmikhael1 You can only listen to the books that you've purchased in your Audible library. However, Amazon has Kindle Unlimited, which let's you read as much as you'd like. I'm not sure how big their audio library is, but you can try it for free for 30 days. Here's a link. amzn.to/2r9Q6Qy
Hope that helps. And thanks for rephrasing the question :)
Or,
I can download them direct to my phone in which case I don't need to connect to the Internet to listen to them?
I know this is subjective but, roughly how much space does a book take up on a phone? I'm thinking of buying a 2nd phone just for books that has 64gig of memory.
Tia & much ❤️
Books vary in size but usually are about 500mb-1gb. They download to your device so you don’t need internet :)
@@HonestFinance Thanks bud. I really appreciate guy and girls like yourself sharing knowledge. RUclips can be awesome. Subscribed and thanks again 👍🏻
do they provide a copy of the ebook to read along?
I don’t think so
What do I subscribe to I'm confused about that part
audible is a subscription service
I’m completely confused..so you pay for a subscription and get one credit a month? You can get one book with one credit? If you want to read a second book that month you have to pay for the whole book?
So I just want to make sure I heard right. We get one credit a month for $15 which we can use on any book but if I cancel my subscription let's say in 6 months do I get to keep the 6 books that I used the credits on?
Yes you get to keep them forever if you’re subscribed or not
@@HonestFinance Thanks that really helped.
I am trying to get audible. and I can't figure out why the European version is half of the American price.
Great information! new subscriber.
Thanks for subscribing! Welcome :)
It says that I get one book for free. If I get it do I completely get that book for free or do u have to pay for some membership after?? Please answer!!!
Use my link and you should get two. You’ll sign up, then just cancel if you want to within 30 days, but you’ll still get to keep the two books
Is there a way I can download a clip and share outside of Audible?
Probably not
Honest Finance darn
Does Audible work with Kindles?
So what if you read/ listen to 2-4 books a week that could get very $$$. Im in a job where i can listen to stuff when i work so i have a lot time and i dont want it to be music all the time
It says I cannot buy books on this app
what is this
Audiobooks only w audible. Books will be on kindle
If I sign up for audible do amazon supply a free app or do I have to purchase it
It’s a free app
How do I get the free books
I have an affiliate link in the description of the video if you want to use it
If i have amazon prime do i need to pay for audible? I've seen that with amazon prime you get audible channels. What is the difference between audible and audible channels??
