+Nuralif Othman Most of the models do. They have small to medium sized faces/heads so the sunglasses give the impressions of the best and most comfortable fits. Just try some of these styles like Wayfarers and Clubmasters or practically any sunglasses with a designer name on a big person with a larger face/head and see the difference. The fit is always too small, yet, "One Size fits ALL" dominates the market because that's the way the Italian monopoly wants it. Ever notice that most ads for sunglasses don't even mention specific sizes and the few that do are listing average size ranges?
As far as brands go, I highly recommend American Optical. Made in the USA, steel frames, real glass lenses, and are used by the US Air Force. And if military use isn't cool enough for you, they're also the sunglasses that Neil Armstrong wore in space. I got a pair on Amazon for $40, which was about a 50% discount, and I love them.
I've been a greaser and have had sideburns ever since I was 12 (I was an early bloomer), I wore Aviators and Wayfarers when they went outta style and then when they came back in style (I am not a hipster). Obviously the good ole black sheepskin jacket fits them nicely if you are into the sort of thing like I am. Facial hair can have a lot to do with it too, as well as the thickness of your eyebrows. Thick ones can blend in with the wayfarers.
To anyone who finds they chew through sunglasses at a rate (either because of build quality, or you're just a touch clumsy) have a look at tinted safety specs / goggles. They come in a range of styles, the lenses are impacts / scratch / UV resistant, they tend to be made fairly stocky and can keep up with abuse.
well, they do seem a bit cliche, but ive worn wrap arounds for 30 years. Im a biker and trukcer and keeping sun out,and wind from whipping around the sides of your glasses and drying out your eyes, is paramount to being able to stay in the saddle longer.I am a huge dude with big head and wide bridge. I found a pair of bole that fit me perfectly, and i bought 10 pair. that was nearly 15 years ago and im on my second to last pair. they scratch easily just from putting them into and taking them out of a shirt pocket every day for a year or more. sadly, they no longer make the style that fit me so well, so my search will resume once im on my last pair.
No one ever talks about size! Size is a big, big problem for people with extra large faces/heads. Most sunglasses in shop for have limited style ranges usually in mediums and smalls or even worse, one size fits all. Finding a large or extra large fit in anything outside of Aviators is very, very difficult and expensive as hell.
+Alvin H Try Police, Dolce & Gabana or Emporio Armani. If you want the more sportive look try Carrera or Oakley. These brands have a huge collection specific for men's face shape (larger than woman). I can`t wear most Persol's or Ray Ban Models too because 90% of the mainstream models are unisex frames but in reality they are better fitting for woman than men because woman buys more and often so it's important for the companies that the frames fits them better. Yeah it's unjust for men but that`s the way it is.
+DerHalbeEuro I tried those brands and, again, they don't list the sizes. You did understand that was my complaint before your replied, right? Size. Size! Size!!!
My question is what about picking polarized over non polarized, is it worth the premium? And I wished he would have talked about lens sizing, every time I go online to look for shades, there are the lens size and how the arm is supposed to sit on your ear.
I am crazy about trendy sunglasses and ready to keep knowledge about latest glasses. I have recently buy tiny sunglasses online store Blank sunglasses and I am so happy to got my new glasses.
The only sunglasses I wear is clubmaster and wayfarer. I use to wear aviators and it fit my face shape because I was skinny. Now I gained a lot of weight and it rounded out my jaw line.
One thing I'm curious about, what about the wraparound safety/athletic sunglasses? Not AoM approved? These fashion glasses do not work with motorcycle helmets. At all.
Dear AoM at minute 1:05 your guest showcases what i hear was called "ClubMen" style of glasses is there any way you can tell me the exact model of these glasses because all I see on the web are RayBans clubmasters that do not look anything like the ones in the video am i spelling something wrong or missing anything thank you
Sorry saw your answer too late! Thats nice :) But you know what really would be cool if i could walk into the shop too and see what fits me, but hey at least i can order and try it at home. Thanks for the reply :)
Hi I am shopping online for my first adult size sunglasses. I know that u have your beliefs about face shapes but I have a heart shape face with a big head. Since I'm shopping online and my country doesn't sell the ones that I want. What type and size should I get. Thanks for your reply.
to those of u who are interested in some good classic Ray-Bans aviators, check out amazon here, i ordered mine and can't wait for it to arrive! amazononlinesales.com/wp/ray-ban-aviator-sunglasses
actually i blame the whole industry. apparently one company has 80% monopoly on retail sales for sunglasses and eyeglasses in US and europe. Its ridiculous paying that much for a pair of glasses.
perfecttrunks2000 Honestly, just grab a $15 pair from Shoppers Drug Mart or something. With suits and other clothing, people can tell whether or not it's cheap. With sunglasses, not so much. I had a $15 pair of aviators for years and people always said "wow, where did you get those?"
ManCave Mayhem That's generally true, but when you want something specific, I find you have to look in the name brands. I have a pair of Mosley Tribes. They're great and I didn't pay too much for an amber lens navigator style aviator. Had them for a couple of years, now. I believe I paid around 135. A gift for myself for doing well in college.
1:22 in this videos i see round shape sunglass. Can u tell me what colour of is this lense?i also search it on blackoptical.com bt i did not find this sunglass.
The shades he picked out at the end fits him and his style very well. This guy knows what he's saying.
Aviators, side part, and a mustache. Yup, 1970s cop.
Lmaooooo, facts
that dude looks good in all the shades, the sales guy.

Wayfarer & Round John Lennon Styled frames are by far the best ...

Nice focus job with that shallow depth of field!

3:33 ''too angular for your face shape... or'' what is it??? lol
He said "for the style you are going for"

Damn i wish i had such shops around :( Awesome video!
"theres a little rebel in all of us, and where men, so we shouldn't be told what to do." fucking beautiful sir, well said indeed.
I wish you guys had discussed pricing in the video. How much should a decent pair cost of sunglasses cost without overspending?
I have the 55mm and they fit and look awesome.
Doesn't get any simpler than that! Although I did make the "bridge" mistake on my first sunglasses purchase.
this guy know his stuff!
Maui Jim is where it's at!
Nah Ray Bans are the only true sunglasses.
not so much since luxotica ruined RB. MJ is the best on the market for sure. opticians will tell you the same.
The 70's called. They want their mustache back.
LOL !
I'd gladly go to the 70's
Regular show called they want their joke back
Good video. But i prefer the 5th kind of shades. Sport shades.
I think your new shades look great on you. :) I was really impressed with how well Gary chose those glasses, too bad I'm not in OK.
Basically, it all depends on personal preferences...there is not standard rule for that....
My personal favorite pair of sunglasses are the classic gold aviator by American Optical. It's very classic and Don Draperish.
What about the alien-eye shape? That has always been my favorite shape.
I wear Versace sunglasses, very stylish and classic.
Oh perfect, and I was planning on getting a new pair of sunglasses. Nice vid!
sunglasses were made for night
Is there also a video on how to pick the right "normal" glasses? If not, any chance you are going to make one?
I personal like my sunglasses to form to my face, M frames are my favorite.
I was hoping for some info on the types of lens, polarized etc.
Great video. I really like the song that plays in it.
Thank you this is some great information. Wish I had this before I got my first pair of glasses. Good tips thanks

So, did you guys call each other up in the morning and decided to coordinate the horizontally striped polo shirt?
Black Optical ships world wide!
Adblock is also on Google Chrome.
Good tips thanks
this gent of Black Really knows how to spot fitz on customers ( or, how to auto avoid the recent abundancy of flakes incorporated ) since, riffly
Nice video as always but it would be nice know about the different types of lenses. Also what are you gaining as you go up in price?
I love chrome aviators
The only sunglasses I wear is clubmaster and wayfarer. I use to wear aviators and it fit my face shape because I was skinny. Now I gained a lot of weight and it rounded out my jaw line.
gross. no
This is not about fashion, it's about style.
One thing I'm curious about, what about the wraparound safety/athletic sunglasses? Not AoM approved? These fashion glasses do not work with motorcycle helmets. At all.
This was very helpful. Thank you.
Loved the video, but what about us older guys that are forced to wear regular glasses. Could really use some help here.
Question, when you wear sunglasses, do they have to cover your eyebrows? ??
You look just like Freddie Mercury at 3:18
Wise Fool yes he does
I really want to try the round shades but I never find a place selling them here in my town D8

this store is fucking expensive...200-500$ for a pair of glasses !!
That's standard pricing, don't blame the store
actually i blame the whole industry. apparently one company has 80% monopoly on retail sales for sunglasses and eyeglasses in US and europe. Its ridiculous paying that much for a pair of glasses.

What's the brand of the round ones?
Yeah man I would like to know as well .
What music are you using for this video?
Shout out to my home town, T-town!
