I would recommend to keep on waiting for the market to keep on crashing as low as possible before purchasing any Rolex.
The flippers are deserving to lose money.
The AD are deserving to learn humility and respect toward their clients.
Rolex must be accountable for its total lack of intervention.
The watch market needs to be sanitized, collectionners should hold their purchases as long as needed.
I'm personally patient and I will wait until necessary.

Thanks Teddy for making that video, truly focused on value. Very relevant in the current market. Unfortunately too many dealers still avoid that conversation but the market is finally going down the way it should and hopefully it will continue to go in this direction in order to bring more sanity in this hobby.

I paid $1,675 for my SS Submariner with date, 16610, in November of 1989 from the Grafstein & Co. in Santa Ana, CA. They used to run ads in the back of various automotive magazines I read at the time (in college) and they beat most Rolex dealers on price at the time. It has been my daily other than the occasional cheap Casio to wear while traveling or working in my shop on vehicles. It has been an enjoyable constant in my life that I don’t regret purchasing.

My family adopted these in the early nineties my dad used to make us take one out if we went on nights out... Which would really annoy my mom because it meant there was one less phone at home😅... the crazy thing was you could rarely get a signal even if you were stood right underneath the base station (usually at public bus train stations and post offices) it seems their capacity wasn't even up to the 10 or 15 customers they actually had. This was the first example of a 'one update and you're done' technology. The telcos were rolling out early cell phones at the time. So the rabbit phone fell into obscurity very quickly. It was also very expensive. I often think of rabbit as a bit like the 'paging' version of cell phones... God now I feel old.

market price is the average of actual sales, in a recent period of time. So probably lots of people sell at the market price; but there will be some sellers with higher prices and some with lower prices.
In fact if a watch is very rare, it's possible that no one sells at the market price. E.g.: If there are just 4 of a given reference sold recently, at prices of $9k, $9.5k, $10.5k and $11k, then the "market price" will be $10k even though no one offered that exact price.

I think there will be an opportunity to pick up some nice watches in the next couple years at highly discounted prices. The ebb and flow of this market is repeatable. Have always bought Rolex at significant discounts to retail.

Hey Teddy, I am from India 🇮🇳 and I love your content ❤️. Your's is the only channel which covers almost everything about watch and exactly what a watch enthusiast go through their entire collection journey.
Apart from great content, I have one issue. Why your giveaways are for US only. I also want to buy watch from your shop tell me how can I do that!!!???

Why? An educated guess you can get a Longines or a Hamilton much cheaper in Mumbai than getting it from the States with all the shipping and customs costs you’ll incur!

It almost makes sense for me to buy the WG Pepsi instead of the 126710BLRO at twice the retail proce from a grey market dealer.

Love rose gold on Rolex, two tone or full, the latter well out of budget sadly

You should just say USED price instead of MARKET price as we all know these are USED WATCHES!!!

Not necessarily “used”, they are “as new” from unauthorized dealers. But the prices he’s quoting are watches “as new” (never worn)

Can I please ask a silly question. What's the difference between retail and market. If its retail. Is that the price you would get it for from a AD.
    Just wondering.. thanks
I luckily got hold of a Sub back in 2019 for 8k GBP a watch store in London. But been on the waiting list for a Pepsi for over 3 years.

funny how the retail price for the white gold submariner is higher than the white gold pepsi.....they are basically the same watch but the GMT has a more complicated movement

It’s 1mm larger watch, bigger case and wider bracelet, more gold(you can probably find out the weight of both). Just my understanding.

They need to make 37-39mm models; 36mm is small for most men and 41 too big.
