Your tutorials are so good, thank you so much! Nomad is pretty accessible, but there are plenty of details where your tutorials are an incredible help.
This app is awesome once you get a grasp of it. The options can be overwhelming but once you’re more familiar the customization is the best. This and Node video are my favs, Node has best VFX and really good 3D editing.
Thank you very much! At the beginning of the video, you used the „SMALL ROBOT STUDIO“ logo as a mask. Did you paint this mask-Logo by hand on this surface or is there a possibillity to import ready-made masks that can be applied to the surface?
I assume I’m missing the setting, but is there a way to prevent the mask from penetrating the surface? Only affecting the surface that the brush is contacting?
@@SmallRobotStudio Cheers! 😂😂 Autocorrect bandit strikes again. How do you change your radius and intensity slider icon? Your slide is a thin line and mine iOS the stock setting which is a wide width
Idk if you’re talking about the eye button. If you click that after masking a region it hides the masked region and allows you to work on everything else. I dont think it affects that region when you work on other partd
At the beginning of the video you showed the small robot studio logo on the box, was that hand drawn or is there a way I can put different logos in and mask the logo on to the box?
Thr mask resolution depends on the number of vertices. My guess is that your model is low resolution so you'd need to subdivide or voxel for smoother masks.
Do you mean moving the mesh that is masked? If that is so, yes. The Gizmo and Move/Drag tool will respect the mask and leave other areas intact. You can change the Gizmo to ignore the mask, but by default it won't. If you mean moving the mask itself. No, to modify it you'd have to repaint it.
It sounds like maybe you are using the mask with Symmetry active. For each tool, there is a symmetry button that you can deactivate anytime. If instead you are refering to the back and front of the object, you'll need to go to the top right mask menu and activate 'Front face only' That will ignore what the camera cannot see. :)

I'm having trouble with using the mask tool in Nomad 1.70. Basically, when I try to edit the inside of a hollow object, it also affects the outside. I've turned symmetry off and I've made sure to only affect the inside, but for some reason it doesn't help. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help I may receive :)
Same issue sadly! I wonder if they removed it 😕 (Edit:) It isn’t removed! In the latest update, it has a different icon. It is no longer a sphere with a mask on it like in the video, but it looks like a paint splat!
Really great. I love when model artists knows exactly what questions a beginner will want to know and integrate it smoothly
Aw that's nice to hear. Cheers mate!

In the stroke options at the bottom there is a check box that reads: front-facing vertex only, enabling it did the trick for me
So clear and well executed, as usual! Kudos and thank you!
Awh thanks David! Thanks for the constant support :D
all your nomad sculpt tutorial is useful for me, thank you for making this video so much lesson i learned 🐈
I'm super glad to hear so! Cheers mate :)
Thank you Erika.
Thank you for watching AT :)
Your tutorials are so good, thanks!
Awh cheers mate! Truly appreciate it
Awesome
Another great video !! Thanks for sharing 😊
Hi what an awesome tutorial. Could you make one about emboss/engrave.
Great video! How do you Chicago your radius and intensity slide icon?
Cheers mate! Hey the autocorrect attacked again, hehe what's your question again? Sorry 😨

I came here looking for how to do a drag box mask. SelMask is so far down, I forgot it was a thing! Thanks for making this tutorial!
Thanks
Thank you for watching!
Love this video! Can we mask by color?
Cheers mate!
Unfortunately no making by color. Hopefully on a future release
Hi. What about alpha masking? We can Emboss or Extrude but it does not go deep how we wish. Or maybe?
Thanks.

Hi! Thanks a lot for your tutorials. You know if there is a way to hide mask areas to work better on them not affecting the rest of the mesh?

@@Omobsterrrr thanks! I just discover it a few days ago 😅 Idk why I didnt notice that eye button before!

Do you have video explaining the new Carve tool?
ThiS is so clear!! Thank you
Nice
Thank you again Erika. I did not know about the shortcuts. Some things happened accidentally and now I know why 😄
No worries Carlos! Thanks for always watching and commenting :D
I also found them confusing as well but they come in quite handy!
Perfect! Super useful! Thank you!
Your videos are so helpful, thank you so much!☺️🙏
How did you do the small robot studio mask in the beginning?
Your videos are really useful, thank you a looooot!
very helpful. thank you.
How are your mask strokes so smooth? Mine are very pixelated how can you help me there?
Thr mask resolution depends on the number of vertices. My guess is that your model is low resolution so you'd need to subdivide or voxel for smoother masks.
Is it possible to move only the masked part, or does it always stay fixed when an area is masked?

Thank you so much. Can you do one on the painting tool as well as texturing and shading in blender
ruclips.net/video/PwysBuYe-us/видео.html for shading and Lighting in Blender. Erika will cover painting in the future I think. Thanks - Michael
Of course, painting tool is on the works, will also add Blender stuff to the list :) Thanks for the suggestions

It might be a bug. I'll record a video and send it to the Nomad forums or Discord
Why I don’t have mask only have selmask😢😢

Every time I extract, it makes it all puffy
I was just trying to figure out why my masks were so jagged. Thanks.
Resolution of the object is low.
