Thank you! As a writer who often works at night (after the kids go to bed) this was maddening. I went so far as to get a book light just to shine over my keyboard. Brilliant.
Ommmmggg huge thank you for this video you post up really appreciated it i just recenlty bought a aspire 5 and that backlight has been killing me and now is all fix!!!🎉
Dud, if we ever meet, (i doubt) I owe you a beer I installed all the drivers, all the utility apps, nothing worked, your video helped me be not annoyed. Thank you so much!
I can usually figure out how to work apps on my own, but when it comes to BIOS, etc. that's a whole different world for me, and knowing myself, I'd screw up my laptop if I tried this on my own! When the weather's warm I like to sit out on my porch in the evening, and keep things dark so I can browse, and still see the outside world without affecting night vision too much. I know I'd be going nuts with the timeout enabled and constantly hitting my touchpad to illuminate the keys - you saved me from beating up this laptop!! Thanks a bunch!!
Thank you, doing work at night on this Laptop used to feel like I was going blind typing every damn 20-30sec, now I can see and not have to hit a random key to turn in my damn keyboard
thank you very very very very much!!!!!!! when it is dark you sometimes the first key you hit is the wrong one because you cannot see.... this is much better!!
ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT information, worked perfectly! The only things I think you should've added was information on telling people which buttons to press once the Bios was opened up... I had to pause and replay your video several times because you're instructions weren't clear at this stage. But, I was able to figure it out once looking around my desktop, so no worries. But all in all, I would give your tutorial a 9/10 stars 🌟 ~ THANK YOU!
@@rickstechrepairs Absolutely excellent however, I sincerely meant my comment to be amicable, and non-confrontational. Just offering some solid, and sincere constructive feedback.
Thank you! I just got a new Acer Aspire 5 yesterday and the quick keyboard backlight timeout was driving me crazy! I got spoiled by my HP laptop, where I reactivate the kb backlight when I use the touchpad, and the Acer doesn't do that. I guess they expect all their buyers to be perfect keyboardists regardless of ambient lighting.
I originally did this on my laptop and it worked, however now it has decided to turn off regardless of the bios settings. Currently running bios 1.26 and whether it's enabled or disabled the backlight remains off :/
I tried this hoping that it would fix my problem of the keyboard light not working on my keyboard and it didn't. Then read a comment about using F8 key to toggle keyboard light on and off and now it's working!
I have the Acer Nitro AN515-52 i followed the way you did but still it's turning off every 30 seconds and and in the Nitrosense i don't have the keyboard settings which is kinda sucks
Thank you sooo much bro is there any way if it turns off automatically, when we touch the touch pad, backlit should be turn on like asus laptop but in acer it's not happening, any solution..?
For those who don’t want to do it this way, another option is just to open ‘nitrosense’ on your laptop, go to settings on the top right corner, and turn off the “backlight off after 30 seconds” option.
Morning (Evening) Rick - Your video is A1 -Thanks! However I have an Acer laptop F15 (3 years old) with the same problem and I can't seem to turn off the backlight timeout. I went to the BIOS and firmware settings but there is no listing for "Keyboard Backlight Timeout). Am I correct is assuming that my model does not have that choice? And, if so, do you have any other suggestions for me? Thanks. Brian.
damn. was hoping this was it for me. not working on acer aspire 7 unfortunately. everything works until there is no setting for the backlit keyboard in the uefi.
Was jazzed to try your hack...did it all, changed the default TIMEOUT to [DISABLED], saved the changes....and... it went right back to timing out after 30 seconds. Grrrr.... Any ideas why?
I had the left side go out on my Predator triton 300 se. The setting was already off, so I turned it on, reset it, then went back and disabled the setting again. After doing the reset a second time my keyboard is fully lit again.
when i switch on my laptop three colors is seen on keyboard but my default my keyboard backlight is set to blue how do i change it i am using acer aspire 7 2024
Dude. As I'm sure you know, Acer's official response to this query was "It's a feature, quit whining." Eff them all the way for not being transparent about this issue. Thank you so much for the help.
This no longer appears to work. On my new Acer Predator Helios 300, clicking the UEFI settings restarts to Acer's proprietary version of the UEFI, which looks completely different and has no option to toggle the backlight on and off.
Best video for this solution. No useless information being pumped in to drag the video. Keep doing what you do

hello, do you know if I can change the color of the keyboard on the acer aspire 7 because it is white
@@marius2a.i the LEDs under the keyboard are white, so no, you can't change color without changing out the LEDs.

is there an option to only disable it when is plugged in? Because I want to save the battery life and also extend the usage time of it
I don't know, there wouldn't be on in the bios
For those who don’t want to do it this way, another option is just to open ‘nitrosense’ on your laptop, go to settings on the top right corner, and turn off the “backlight off after 30 seconds” option.
