Thanks for the shout out to my book. I appreciate that you tell Ceely's story without exaggeration or sensationalizing it. Many thanks, and kudos to you.

I wonder if the author Shirley Jackson knew about the case of Ceeley Rose because her book We Have Always Lived In the Castle is about a young seemingly childlike girl who poisoned her family. The book is haunting in the way that the murders at Malabar Farm is haunting.
I feel so bad for the murdered members of the Rose family, what are horrible way to die! I feel especially bad for the mother, she had recovered from the initial poisoning, only to be poisoned again! The mother's love was so strong for Ceely because , even though she knew her daughter killed her whole family, she still left her half of the money to Ceely. RIP Rose family...
So happy to see this talked about. I live close to Malabar farm and go constantly. When I was about 11-12 I was on a tour of the upstairs of the ceely rose house with my mom. I thought she was behind me when I was leaving a room and I felt a hard tug on my pony tail. I turned around to tell her to stop and I saw I was alone. I immediately screamed for my mom and told her I felt something and we left the tour early. It really effected me at the time, I haven’t been upstairs since. I think you might not be allowed up there anymore. Thanks for talking about this story! I learned a lot of details I haven’t seen at the park.

What a disturbing story. My own family member is a special needs adult, with a similar intellect of about a first grader. She had a "boyfriend " and they were to be married in twenty years (ofc that didn't happen). He was also special needs, though. Love your videos. You do old cases and some I've never heard of. Love the length of the videos. As a stay at home mom, I can listen while cooking, cleaning, and hobbies. Keep 'em coming 😁👍
Honestly, I do think it likely that Ceely with her genetic issues was the biological child of David and Rebecca. With the decline of genetic material both from the age of her mother and health problems of her father, it makes sense. I know several women who were born with genetic abnormalities after their father was exposed to chemical warfare during the Gulf War. They had older and younger siblings who were all healthy though.
Could be or could be through interbreeding. I don’t find the age gap unusual though as my grandmother had two babies after a big gap. She was so sexually uneducated that she thought you couldn’t get pregnant after 40. This was in the 1950s.
Most women do not hit menopause until their mid 50's. But I do know of a young lady who went though the "change" in her early 30's. My mom had me at 45, my brothers were teenagers.
@@jturtle5318 I don't believe so, but in the video it was mentioned that the father had health problems after the war. The conditions that most of the soldiers were in was less than ideal. Besides the stress of war and battles, most of them barely had enough to eat, what they did eat was not nutritious and they nearly all struggled with malaria, dysentery, or other illnesses. Plus they were exposed to the elements all year. If he experienced 4 yrs of that, it would definitely take a toll on his body!

I went to Malabar farm on a field trip in grade school. It was the site and test farm for a visionary agricultural experimenter named Lewis Bromfield. He is credited with creating methods like plowing around a hill to prevent run off instead of up and down it like was customary, which basically covered the entire hill with a series of small ditches waiting to wash out. I haven't thought about that field trip and that farm for probably over 40 years, I'm astounded I recognized the name right off. BTW, they never mentioned anything about the murders when we were there.
There must be a reason why they push people to visit gruesome murders sites: without even full disclosure. I’ve left a big comment about the occult side of it & Nic Cages ownership of Daphne Lau Laurie castle- and its disappeared.
Greetings, S🎃MMER! I'd like to wish you a *GIGANTIC* congratulations on reaching 100K!!! I feel lucky to have found you when you only had a few videos posted. Now, I wait with great antici...pation (like Rocky Horror 😉) for every new video. You've earned your reward, and I know more are to come!
What an interesting story. I’ve been to Malabar Farm many times as a young child but I don’t recall going into any homes aside from the main house and I had no strange experiences. I did the hay ride also. I recently asked my husband about making another visit, and now I want to go even more!
This makes me feel bad & wonder about Guy Berry's life after this. Obviously what happened was very awful & tragic! But having all this come out & be sensationalized meant that ppl all over knew the details. So, more than likely he did too. He knew she had committed these HEINOUS acts out of some misguided notion of being w\him. Not only that, but she also tried to murder his family in this SAME cruel & devastating way. There he was just trying to be kind to someone who had been treated badly & it blew up. Now, very clearly this was NOT HIS FAULT! But rather her's & the way she had been dealt w\her entire life, as well as how this particular situation was handled. But Im sure he carried this w\him for his life & was likely never allowed to forget it by those cruel ppl in their community. Hopefully, this didn't serve as a poison to his soul & turn him bitter or stomp out the kindness he'd had in him. Fascinating story though! I'd never heard of it!

I even know a family very well with the last name Rose that lives in the area...wonder if this is their family?
So happy for you! You do such a wonderful job researching and presenting the stories.
Wow. What a crazy story. Thank you for telling this unbelievable historical tragedy
These stories are always fascinating, especially when told as you tell it - without all the bells and whistles and extra fluff. I don't think most of us need the gore in our faces to realize what a tregedy is. Thank you!
I’m so stoked to see you get bigger and bigger, you deserve everything in the world!!
Congratulations on 1000.000!!! I can’t wait until you hit a million? You’re truly one of my favorite true crime along with Stephanie Harlow I wish you & your channel all the success!!! ❤
Sommer! You have quickly become my favorite RUclipsr! I love that you do cases that not every other YTer covers. When I’m annoyed at having seen all of the cases that the other girls are posting, go to your page bc I know I’ll find one I’ve never heard of! (But I’m running out of them bc I always watch yours 😮💨😒) I love everything about your videos! Your voice is so calming but also catches your attention and keeps it, your story telling abilities, and it just makes me feel like we’re just friends talking about a crazy case you heard of recently and want to fill me in on. Absolutely love everything about this page and I’m so glad you finally made it to 100k! Can’t wait until you get to a million!
Oh my! My own mother even thinks the picture of Ceely could be my twin. That’s so creepy.
Wow really interesting case, ty girl. I wish you could post more often
Dude!! Can't believe your going over this!!! I grow up around that area, grandma told me about this crime when I got a bit older.
I just found this channel and I’m so happy. You find so many stories I’ve never heard before and you break them down in the most easy to follow way. Thank you!
My father and mother both had nieces and nephews who were older than them.
This was a long time before Agent Orange. Were they using any chemical agents in the US Civil War?
@@jturtle5318 I don't believe so, but in the video it was mentioned that the father had health problems after the war. The conditions that most of the soldiers were in was less than ideal. Besides the stress of war and battles, most of them barely had enough to eat, what they did eat was not nutritious and they nearly all struggled with malaria, dysentery, or other illnesses. Plus they were exposed to the elements all year. If he experienced 4 yrs of that, it would definitely take a toll on his body!
CONGRATS SOMMER 4 100K! It's about time homegirl 🥳🎂😎
You keep viewers engaged with stories not often heard on RUclips.
Another facinating story. You are an excellent story teller. I look forward to many more. ❤

❤❤❤❤ you deserve way more and everything that's coming for you!! Love the way you do research and story tell! Happy I met you!!
Well, as usual you knocked this one out of the park. The reason that your subs are high is because of the research and your professionalism. You going to continue to grow your channel and you totally deserve it.
I've been to Malabar farm my mom grew up by it many times that house always gave me the worst vibes my parents wouldn't tell me because i was so young but when I found out everything made sense.
I love listening to all the stories. Thank you for what you do. I appreciate you!

What a savage. Ma Dooks was feeling better so she hit her with a second round. Jeezis Murphy.
Your channel is amazing Sommer! Always looking forward to your next! Onward to a million!!!
I just discovered this channel last week and I can’t stop watching
I've never heard of this story and I've lived near Malabar Farm for over 30 years.
Amazing how secrets are lost either on purpose or through time itself. Interred in finding out if you will look further?
Thank you sooo much!! 🖤🖤🖤
Waddup Sommer🤗thank you for the consistent content that always keeps my attention & have me coming back! Congrats on 100k!
Congrats on 100K!!!🎉
It’s no surprise.. there are ALOT of true crime RUclipsrs out there and you have very quickly become my favorite..
here’s to 100K more!! 🍾
Great job, Sommer! I found you a year ago with the Magdalena Solis vampire cult murders --- and I've loved your content ever since last Halloween!
I can’t imagine the pain they was in….ive had bad bad dehydration Charlie horses in my stomach it was SO painful!
I had never heard of this case and the park is only 3 hours from me. Will definitely be visiting! Congrats on 100k, love your channel! ❤
I love your style of presenting the information and the focus of 1800"s in this case! Great job!!
I absolutely loved hearing about this case!! I've never heard of it before and I was glued to my phone the entire time listening to you tell about it! You definitely deserve those 100K views! 🎉 Congratulations!! Can't wait till the next video!
Well, done as always. Thank you. Not to sound heartless nor find anyone’s gears… I will say that I will forever stand by taking one’s life cannot be excused by mental illness etc. I will forever believe it takes evil to kill. One knows what is morally right and wrong even in first and second grade.
As someone who has one myself, couldn't agree more!
YAY!!!👏👏👏 Congratulations on the well deserved 100k subscribers. I knew it wouldn't take you long. You're fantastic at what you do!
I actually live one county over from Richland co, and I’ve never heard of this! Thanks🙂
I love how you cover old cases!
My girl loves Coheed ❤️ I knew you had good vibes from the moment I followed ages ago. Love ya girl!
100k is well-deserved! I still go back to some of your older eps every now and then. You do a great job!
I'm relieved that the Berrys were smart enough not to eat the pie.
They underestimated how smart Ceeli Roae is. Especially when she started becoming obsessed with Guy
Very random how this popped up in my recommended..I live in Mansfield in Richland county where this took place and ive been to Malabar farms once but somehow never knew about this story. Very cool. Youre an awesome story teller and love the Coheed and Cambria shirt! Definitely subscribing
Yay 100k!! I’m so happy for you, it’s so deserved!
Oh Yay!! Just notified. Will watch soon as I get home!! Thanks Sommer!!!
I love these historical cases, thanks for doing these☺️
David Rose immediately think of Schitt's Creek!!!
Thank you for another great story, Sommer! I’m surprised that with her disability she was able to pull this off. It’s crazy!
Great job
Wow this is wild! I wish they'd make a movie about this.
CONGRATULATIONS !!!! You deserve it so much! Thank you for helping me calm down before bed with you lovely voice and content! ❤
Sommer, you are the BEST!
Your research is amazing, 💕😻💕
Love your festive decorations 💕
Thank you!! 🥰
Great job on covering these creepy cases!
Sommer! As if I didn't love you and your channel enough but you are wearing a Coheed and Cambria shirt!!! You are such an awesome person!
Slow , mental delays or not - proof why I do not eat everybody's cooking. Adults are tricky. These are my opinions.
Some of the best content on RUclips! Congrats on 100,000
Can't believe her mother still gave to her after in her will after knowing or at least suspecting ceely to be her murder. Crazy
Oh my gosh, I grew up near here and would go on school field trips to the farm, went skiing there- had NEVER heard about this! Heard all about how one of the owners of the farm in the 30s-40s had friends in Hollywood and how some had visited there, but never this. Thanks for the in-depth analysis!
Yes congratulations on 100 thousand subscribers. You really do your work on getting the best for each story
I’ve been watching you for a few months now - your channel came up as a suggestion. Instants subscriber 😊
BUT I was shocked on this video title as I went to watch. Could it possibly the Malabar farms I grew up by? The same Malabar games my step daughter was at a wedding at as I watched the video?? Yes.
It’s crazy how I can be 42 and been to a place too many times to count - I’m talking school field trips, weddings, to see the farm…. And never knew this story!!
So, thank you for my coverage. I am also going to share this on my fb page. I have a feeling all my local friends will be interested and maybe they will share too!
Helping my girl tryna blow up!
Sommer, thanks for yet another amazing story! Congratulations on your 100k subscription milestone!🎉❤
Congrats on 100k! I only recently took notice to which true crime type channels I actually liked and realized that all of yours were very well done!
Even though you don’t post often, the quality of your videos is worth the wait! Looking forward to your next upload!
I just found your channel and I love it. Your vocal style is so engaging and easy to listen to. It can be difficult to get into stories even if I want to, but with yours its effortless
Thank you Sommer. Pulled the short straw doing unpaid overtime on a Saturday, so needed something to take my mind off endless testing. This cast has been fascinating. No evil persons, just tragic characters. Again great narrative.
Unpaid OT? Are you a manager?
@@jturtle5318 I wish. Lol
You are a great story tell. Your are leveled and well composed. I like how you dont speak your opion, but you expeess it through your tone of your voice.
People just want to hear a good story without the interuption of opions. You are like the girl version Mr Ballen. Lol. I am sure you will get to 8 million subs in no time!
You are a very good, fair, and entertaining story teller
Amazing story telling. I felt I could see in detail the family.
Awesome! I’ve been checking my feed all day for your video lol 👍🏽
Congrats on the 100k. Have been here since about video 4 or 5. So I am proud of you.
