It's very interesting that this Plug N Play's Sound test uses the Dig Dug sounds and music from their original Namco 5-1 plug n play rather than the one included, (but playing with the sound chip of this plug n play.)
I love how Jr. Pac-Man was going to be in this. It would be cool if we could see Jr. in the future. He doesn't seem to get much love nowadays. Well, except from his ghostly girlfriend.
This Plug 'n Play was released in 2009, so the AtGames issue shouldn't matter here. As for the licensing with GCC, that's doubtful as well. From my understanding, GCC was only responsible for the creation of Crazy Otto, which they sold to Midway after they fell under. It was Midway then that transformed Crazy Otto into Ms. Pac-Man. Well, they caught heat with Namco and Namco ended up purchasing the rights to Ms. Pac-Man (hence why that game shows up on many Namco Museums and other compilations, but Jr. Pac-Man doesn't. Also worth noting is that they weren't as impressed with Jr. Pac-Man as Ms. Pac-Man). From there, it was Midway that created Jr. Pac-Man (along with Professor Pac-Man and Baby Pac-Man), so GCC doesn't matter following Crazy Otto (this explanation was recreated from fragile memories, so if I said anything incorrect, feel free to correct me). The only thing that has me confused is Pac-Man Plus. That game was also created by Midway, yet Namco has acknowledged it for their Plug 'n Plays and even for the Pac-Man's Pixel Bash arcade machine. My guess is that because it's an "upgraded" version of the original Pac-Man, Namco decided to give it the okay on some regards.
I mostly said my comment due to the recent events, so even though it was planned for this, nowadays it would be impossible, not without sacrificing quality. Also, Ms. Pac-Man hasn't been included in a Namco Museum since Virtual Arcade on Xbox 360 from 2008, and that was technically a port from a year prior. The last time it was included in the same way the others are was 50th Anniversary in 2005. Sad that Jr. Pac-Man was planned, but fell through. Arcade1Up has been making Pac-Man cabinets surprisingly with Pac-Man Plus and Pac-Land (Pac-Man Plus because of Midway, Pac-Land due to overall low re-release rate despite being owned by Namco), yet due to this AtGames situation, no Ms. Pac-Man.
Ms. Pac-Man was on the home releases of the Pac-Man's Arcade Party/Pixel Bash machines, as well as DLC for Pac-Man Museum, but that is a good point that I didn't even consider. I applaud you for your knowledge.
the game was supposed to be on this console and on the super Pac-Man plug n play I saw what would’ve looked lit look like on both consoles on the fandom
