I made this tonight Didn’t have a lot of flavor. Had to remix twice. Made my milk in the blender. Will add more maple syrup and vanilla a next time.

Well I have watched so many butter pecan ice cream recipes trying to crack the code. I never once thought to make my own pecan milk! Genius! Looking forward to giving this a try. Thanks for the great idea!

Thank you, Kathy. I have taken advantage of prime deals with Amazon and ordered a milk machine since I use plant milk all the time I figure I will save plant milk. Thank you so much.🙏

Kathy, if we don't have a milk machine, how much water should we add to the blender to make the pecan milk?

I'll be using my Vitamix. About how much water was added please? I looked and it says this maker makes 20 ounces, which is 2.5 cups. Is that about right?
Thank you SO MUCH for this recipe! Butter Pecan is my favorite! Thank you Kathy!

What is the benefit of using a milk making machine like this over blending in the Vitamix if one has to end up straining it separately anyway? I’m not clear on the whole point of a milk making gadget like that. What am I missing?

You may be fine with using your blender. There are a variety of machines, so with heat, some without, some that filter, and more. Here's is an overview of the ones I'm reviewing now: healthyslowcooking.com/plant-based-milk-maker/
And as I say in the video, I'm not trying to convenience anyone to buy a milk maker, but I do love having a hands off way to make it. Some even have delay settings so I can wake up to warm fresh milk.

My experience with homemade nondairy creamers is that they separate (or curdle). I’ve tried using liquid lecithin but results not perfect. I use a vitamix btw. Has this happened to you?

    • @KathyHesterVeganRecipes

I find it depends on the thickness of the creamer and the acidity of the coffee. I drink cold brew, so it has less acid.

I know it was 11 months now that I tried asking this question but I'll try asking it again, what brand are the spoons from that you used in this particular video to smooth out the ice cream and did a taste test with? They're really nice looking spoons, very smooth and rounded.

@@KathyHesterVeganRecipes Kathy I really like it a lot. I don't have any other machines like you lol to compare it to. Put all the nuts except for soy I put in there and experimented with came out great. I haven't strained any of it I just drink it with the little kernels in it if there is any I'm not picky. The one thing I have been making a lot in it is golden milk with turmeric cinnamon I'm sure you must know. I bought it off of Amazon for $89. By the way I love your RUclips your shows very informative and easy to follow. ❤️

You can try freezing in ice cube trays, letting thaw for about 5 minutes, then blending in a high-speed blender.

Mona - for the ice cream pint? It ends up holding 2 cups, so the liquid total is close to that minus dates if you are making it straight in the pint.
