@@Largentina. If you were smarter and more clever, you would have realized that they said PFK was French, because it's in Quebec. PFK stands for "Poulet Frit à la Kentucky." "Poulet" is the French word for chicken. I was kinda making a joke because I translated PFK as if you rearranged the English version into the way the French grammar works, in which case it would be "Chicken Fried Kentucky." Obviously, that doesn't make sense, and the actual English translation of PFK is "Chicken fried in the style of Kentucky" but I thought it would be funny to just say the literal translation of the English acronym, which is "Chicken Fried Kentucky."
@@jayjack6299 oui lol. The reason for KFC having a different name is Quebec law that states that business names must be in French, hence Pfk. France does not have this law.
fun fact: KFC isn't actually the same recipe as it used to be because they lost rights to that recipe when the family cut ties so new KFC is not good. If you miss old KFC go to church's
That’s mean & explains why it lost my childhood KFC flavor 😢. The coleslaw is very disappointing. Does the KFC family have their own spot for authentic KFC?
I once interviewed for an assistant manager position at my mom's place of work. They asked me if I thought it'd be a conflict of interest that my mom worked there. I said, "No, I'll walk out of this room right now and fire her if you want." We all laughed, and I got the job. I hated that job.
@@davileite780 Lol, no, it was a salaried position, and the first assistant manager position for which the department had been approved in ages. My manager would delegate things to me that had been assigned to her, but then expressly forbade me from delegating any aspect of a task to someone else, even something as simple as putting papers in a binder (that was the actual thing that got me reprimanded, and I was told, "If I tell you to do something, I want you to do it, start to finish" ), so I could work on something else. I ended up pulling some triple digit weeks. That manager ended up getting fired after going through 3 assistant managers in fewer than 3 years.
I love this channel because it's like hanging out with an old childhood friend who's living abroad and filling you in on all the cool stuff he's been finding.
Idk the herbs and spices are good to me. Its the chicken and breading that always seems either too wet or too dry depending on original or extra crispy.
Same. Chicken, when properly cooked actually has a good flavor which the 11 herbs and spices usually masks. Sometimes, the chicken taste enhanced by salt and pepper is what you really want to taste and not the 11 herbs.
Your review of the chicken itself is literally how i felt last year eating kfc for the first time in many years. Their standard chicken is really nothing to write home about. The flavor of the seasoning is decent, with the gravy even moreso, but for all their history and experience all they can manage is decent SOME of the time
In my country we (still) have twisters. They are cheap, filling and good. Spicy chicken strips, lettuce, tomato, mayo, cheese all wrapped up in a big toasted tortilla. It comes hot and ready to eat. Now im quite craving one
Random thing: KFC in Trinidad is freaking amazing and the only want I will ever eat it! When I’m there I take a break from all the delicious local food and get KFC once while I’m there. It’s so well seasoned and they have actual pepper sauce.
I know it was just a joke, but for those who want to know I did a quick search, and it seems that KFC Japan started punching a hole in the center of their biscuits to allow for more even cooking throughout since about 30 years ago.
It looks nice, but KFC in China is the unbeaten king of international KFC chains. They do their breading a bit differently, and the localization menu items are incredible.
KFC was my moms comfort food when she was spending 6 months a year working in Shanghai lol according to her Ameican KFC doesnt even come close to comparing
The best KFC I've had was in Budapest, I was there less than a week, and I went multiple times. Though now that I think about it I always got it after drinking at the bars 🤔
So weird that kfc in Japan has a biscuit. In Germany they dont have biscuits and the country is OBSESSED with breads . Yet Japan isnt a bread loving country yet have the biscuit 😂

I never liked kfc either until we lived in china for a few years. I missed western food so much, I was happy whenever we did have some kfc lol. It was also conveniently everywhere and right across our apartments😊 and had subway too whenever I got the chance, was sick of subway before living overseas
We occasionally partner with some Japanese companies on occasional projects at work, and when they send a crew over from Japan, they are always super excited about trying real American KFC. The 1st time I had a whole list of Tx BBQ joints, TX Mex, and American cuisine restaurants ready, and they were very polite, but seemed sad about the recommendations until I asked them if they had anything they wanted to try while they were there. They had KFC every day for lunch for 10 days. 😂 Now I just lead with the local KFC info, and then a few recommendations.
The Japanese love KFC because it has more seasoning to it than just salt and pepper which makes it pairable with rice. In that sense, It's very much like Japanese fried chicken which always has heavy seasoning. It's not like there's standard plain fried chicken and then KFC as a deviation like in the US. It's what the Japanese are used to.
In Central America, you get a tortilla instead of a biscuit and the people shred their chicken into minced form, often casting away the skin and batter. They then roll the chicken into a tortilla roll up.
as someone who works at KFC in Australia, the only good thing most of the time is the chicken's breading. our spicy isn't too bad though, at least at my store
Fun fact: Christmas wasn't really celebrated much in japan (as less than 1% of the population is christian), until 1974 when KFC launched a campaign called "Kentucky for Christmas". And now during christmas eve they sell about 5-10x the chicken of normal days.
