Great tutorial! I've noticed a RUclipsr couple who do well enough with stock photos and videos on the side of their RUclips that it at least keeps their family fed when RUclips income unexpectedly goes down sometimes. But they never tell me where they submit to or offer tutorials. So I'm grateful you did this. The only thing is you seem to be soft spoken. @@cristinasala Re the YT couple, one of their stock photos of their oldest dog appeared on a certain brand's puppy pads and another product. Later, someone used their photoshoot collection of a friend's corgis to create a calendar. The couple did arrange to purchase one each of those products. Again, no idea which site(s) they use or their exact numbers. But they seem to do well. Whether at home or traveling, the wife is always shooting, and the hubs is taping & flying his drone. Can I take them from websites that provide free photos for commercial use? Thank you, I appreciate your help and guidance."
People who create these templates that include photographs of people, landscapes and so on must either use their own photographs or download these photographs from Freepik, as long as they belong to the user "Freepik". I talk about it in this video at 19:09: ruclips.net/video/BJ-5laYNI8s/видео.html . Normally, even if a photograph is free for commercial use, it's not okay to upload it to another stock image site (according to most platform policies I've seen), so I would avoid using images you downloaded from another platform. Stick to your own photos or the ones from the user "Freepik". I hope that helps!
Hi Christina, thank you for the tips! I've got a question: how do you make some of your pictures Premium and other free-to-use? I see all of your recources marked as Premium, is it an automatic function while uploading content? Thanks in advance, have a nice day)
Hi! Apologies for the delay, for some reason I don't get comment notifications. 😓 As far as I know, Freepik makes our uploaded Contributor resources Premium automatically. I haven't had the chance so far to choose whether my files are free or premium.
No, I still don't have the option to mark them as free. I'm not sure how Freepik decides it. But if you want your images to be available to download for free, maybe you can try upload them to a site like Pixabay. All resources are free there.
Hi Cristina. So I'm now at the Upload step, and my pictures' outlines wouldn't turn like you at 6:55. Hence, I can't submit my pictures. Do you know what went wrong?
Hello! Normally, all the pictures start with a red outline. They will change to green one by one as soon as you type in a title and at least 5 tags for each individual image. Have you already added a title and enough tags for each image?
Hey hi cristina... Thank you for your vedios and they are very helpful. I have a question. If we upload a psd file, we should add it on a mockup or anything before upload.? And also how many times we can add our files for the test, if its reject ?
Im glad you liked them! For the initial test you have two chances to try. For PSD files it's not mandatory to use a mockup, unless the mockup itself is the file you want to sell. If you have created for example a postcard, upload the design only, don't put it in a mockup. If you put it in a mockup, people might be confused and think that the download is the mockup, not the postcard design alone. I hope I explained it well 😊
Hi! Thank you for inspiring me! 🤩 Please make an update video about your journey as a Freepik Contributor! Now that has been over an year I'm sure you can share some new stuff, especially about the earnings! 😇

Thank you for your questions! In my experience as a contributor you only get royalties if users with a Premium membership download your images. According to Freepik, as a contributor, normally all of your images are automatically marked s Premium, so they cannot be downloaded for free. Once your royalties surpass the minimum of 50€ or $, Freepik will generate an invoice for you and apply any rates that are applicable in your case. In my case (Spain), the invoice has a +21% VAT (amount added to the invoice) and a -15% IRPF (deducted from the invoice).
Pretty useful. Thanks ! Got a question : Is it possible to change the tag on an existing design in freepik? In case, the tags are not reaching the audience and I want to alter them so I can have them reach the audience better.
This is a great question that I didn't think of! Thank you so much for asking. I reached out to Freepik support and they told me that it is not possible to edit the title and tags once you upload an image, so we have to be very careful about what we choose.
Thank you for clarifying! If you're uploading a PSD, you have to upload the PSD and a JPG preview, no EPS. This pair (PSD + JPG) counts as 1 image, since they are the same resource.
Hi Cristina, thank you for the valuable info. I have one question. As the minimum upload requirement is 10 so can we upload 10 copies of the same image or do we need to make a different one. As in the video, I can see you uploaded some images which look the same as the 'EPS' one & the one with the moon.
Great question! You have to upload different images. Otherwise, they won't be accepted. The reason why it looks like I've uploaded identical images is because for vector files, we must upload both an EPS file and a JPG file of the same image. So for each unique image I have two files that look the same: 20 files in total, 10 different images. I hope that answers your question!
Please answer one more question. Do we need to upload 10 different versions of each image? I have some 3D objects. Can I upload the different versions having different angles or different side views of the same 3D object? I want to upload 5 different objects with each having 2 variations to meet the minimum 10 requirements. Is it fine?
Hmm, I don't know the answer to this one. I've never done it before. If you think that all the images are good quality and likely to be downloaded by someone who is paying for a subscription, try it. If they look too similar or some of the images don't make sense individually, they could be rejected, or you could be asked to group them into a set. Feel free to share how it goes, I'm curious. Good luck!
hi Cristina.. first of all, I love your videos and got a lot of information.. thank you very much for sharing your valuable tips. I am about to join freepik and expect your guidance. can you advise me.. thank you very much
do you have to publish them as a premium photo or free also make money? cause there is lots of graphic source in freepik for completely free so i am kind of confused
I agree, it's a bit confusing. But for now as contributora we have no choice to mark our content as free or premium. When we upload it, Freepik automatically marks it as premium. Every premium resource downloaded by a user with a subscription makes money, but the amount varies.
Hi Christina, I am starting to be a contributor. Do you have a video like in-depth instructions like from uploading the ID, tax or something like that?
@@cristinasala I do! Like account confirmation, I have been waiting for almost a week now and there's this prompt message that I have to prepare residency tax
@@demidemigames5736 Sorry to hear that! I've also experienced this: in the beginning (1 year ago, when I filmed this video), approval of images was very fast, but now sometimes I have to wait for a month or so to get approval. I'm not sure why. In terms of residency tax, you have to click on your profile icon on the top right of your contributor dashboard, and then select "My Fiscal Information". The documents you have to upload depend on your country of fiscal residence. I recommend reaching out to Freepik Support to find out what documents specifically they need. Since you're interested in stock images, I'll share with you that now I'm also trying out Adobe Stock, and so far I have been earning more per download than on Freepik. If you have images already created, you can upload them to Adobe too. Best of luck!
Hello.. i made vectors in AI for ipad, but my simple design have a small file size (only 50-100 kb).. while the min size in freepik should be 500kb. Do you know how to deal with the size?
Good question! Ive never used Ai for Ipad, so I'm not 100% sure. The simpler the design is, the smaller the file size will be, so you might want to add some extra details to make the artwork more complex, or make the artboard itself a bit bigger. My simplest design (a cartoon heart) is in a 1080x1080 artboard in Illustrator, and the file is 1440 kb. If your designs are very simple and you can't reach this file size, you might want to consider uploading to Flaticon instead (this is a platform that also belongs to Freepik and specializes in simple icons and stickers). I would also explore other alternatives in stock image sites, like Adobe Stock for example. I recently discovered the price for download is higher than Freepik's. Good luck! 😊
Thank you for your question! This is a bit tricky to explain. Basically they want artistic and technical quality. Technical quality means that the file is named correctly and the layers are well organized and named. For artistic quality, keep in mind that Freepik wants images that users are _willing to pay a subscription for._ If you search the same keyword, for example "space" in Pixabay (which is not curated) and Freepik (which is curated), you will see a difference in the overall "quality" of the designs. I hope this helps :)
Great question! You can upload virtually as much as you want. Also, depending on your contributor level you can upload batches of different sizes. At first, you'll only be able to use the web upload method, which has a minimum of 10 and maximum of 500. Once you reach Level 3 (which means you have uploaded a total of 500 images), you can use the FTP upload method, which has a limit of 3000 each time. You can read more about it here: support.freepik.com/s/article/Contributor-Level-Upload?language=en_US#:~:text=As%20a%20new%20contributor%2C%20you,images%20published%20in%20your%20account.
Great question! There is no daily/weekly/monthly or even yearly minimum, you can upload whenever you want. However, each time you should upload a minimum of 10 images.
If they are PSD, EPS or JPG files with the correct size and they are good quality images that someone would pay for, I think you can 😊. To check the correct size, please look at the Freepik guidelines, it might have changed since I created this video.
@@BariDunyaHaBaraSotch good question! No, the images that you upload to Freepik must be your own original creation. I wouldn't try to upload content from free stock sites, or even Public Domain, Canva, Pixabay, Vecteezy etc. Your account can be permanently blocked by Freepik.

Hi Cristina, Even after more than seven days, my billing information is still not verified. Do you know the reason for this? Is it not possible to upload the files without verifing the billing information?
I think it took a while to get mine verified too, although I can't remember how long it was. You can still upload images, the billing information verification will be needed whenever Freepik has to create invoices for you (when you reach a minimum of 50/100 USD/EUR depending on your payment method). I haven't reached that minimum yet, with a few cents per download I think it'll take a while! 😅. In what way doesn't it work? Do you get an error message or something similar? Remember that if this is your first time, it won't let you submit your images unless you have a minimum of 20. If you're uploading 20 vectors, that will mean 40 files in total (EPS+JPG for each).

@@sanpls Thanks for sharing that! I'm curious, does it specifically say on your dashboard that 1 download = 0.02? I can't see anything similar on my dashboard. The only thing I can do is calculate (number of downloads) / (total earnings) = (price per download). In my case it's 0.068 today. What I know is that from September 1st, Freepik changed the earnings calculation system. I don't understand it fully, but you can read about it here: support.freepik.com/s/article/Pay-per-download-and-RPI?language=en_US. It seems like the price per download is not consistent, it depends on how many resources a user downloads overall. In this forum, there is someone who explains it much better than I could (see the reply from user called Jo Ann Snover): www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/changes-to-calculation-of-earnings-freepik/

Yes, I still do! Earnings are quite slow, since the amount per download is small. I probably could do better if I posted more consistently instead of every few weeks.I see it as a very long term extra source. I know there are some designers that do it full time as exclusive Freepik designers, but the terms are different. I wish you all the best if you decide to become a contributor too :)
Yes, it's a must that you create your designs yourself. Of course, there is a lot that I didn't mention (including image size), since Freepik's documentation is pages long and there is no time to cover it all thoroughly in a short video. I do say in the video to go and read this documentation before you create your images. You can go to these pages and Ctrl+ F for "Size". Vector best practices: support.freepik.com/s/article/Vector-guidelines?language=en_US&Id=ka03V0000004PUBQA2 PSD best practices: support.freepik.com/s/article/PSD-guidelines?language=en_US&Id=ka03V0000004PUGQA2
Great question! I asked Freepik when I first started and yes, you own the right to your pictures, so you can post them anywhere you want even while they are on Freepik
Hello! That means that according to Freepik, users are more likely to download your file if it's a vector. Depending on what software you have used to create you image, you may be able to export it as an .eps file. Note that you will still need a .jpg version of the file to act as a preview. I think Freepik encourages vectors because, for users, they are generally easier to edit than JPGs. I hope that helps!
Hello! As a creator, you own the copyright to your work, so yes, you can upload your Freepik images to other stock sites, like Pixabay, Shutterstock, etc. I'd say check the other site's conditions also to be completely safe
Hello! That's a very good question. I think Freepik must also accept videos, since they have video resources available for download. As a user, I only upload images, so I don't know specific details for videos. Maybe in their Support center they have some information about it. If not, you can reach out to their team and ask about the video upload requirements. I hope they can help!
Hello! I haven't tried it yet, because I don't know too much about it. My gut feeling is that it might be difficult to sell an NFT unless the artist already has a big or very engaged audience, so I'm unsure about trying :)
I haven't found anything specific to resolution in the Freepik requirements, only for document size. For photos, the file has to be between 2000 and 10000px on any of its sides. For vectors, the requirement is that file size is between 0.5 and 80 MB. For PSD files the file has to be between 1000-5000px and 1,5-325 MB, and te preview JPG should be 2000-10000px. To achieve these sizes, I usually export my files at 300 or 150 dpi
Hello! Good question. 😊 It's non-exclusive. As a Freepik contributor, you still own the rights to your art and can post it in other places, even if you've uploaded it to Freepik. There is the possibility to become a Freepik exclusive designer, but I don't know how it works
I haven't tried Shutterstock, but I think they do look for high resolution pictures, maybe that's why. I'm sure they must have written guidelines, just like Freepik

@@TMdesigner_1997 there could be different reasons why your first 20 images were rejected. As I said in the video, I recommend reading Freepik's upload requirements carefully before uploading, because they only give two opportunities. Maybe I can tell you something more specific if I see your images. Can you show me?
Good question! As far as I know and according to the Freepik Contributor blog you can upload photos from your phone, it's the same process and quality requirements: contributor.freepik.com/blog/upload-photos-made-with-your-mobile-phone/ I'm not sure if it's the same with PSD and EPS files. Maybe it's okay as long as your phone can handle those files?
"Quality standards" is the most subjective reason and there's no straightforward way to solve it. It might be because of the quality of the draftmanship, the way the file is set up or the topic of the image.
No, if they are accepted they will stay on the platform indefinitely. if they are not accepted they won't appear on the platform. It takes a few days from the moment you submit them until the Freepik team decides if they accept them or not. I hope this answered your question!

"Hi, I have a question. I've only been uploading illustrations so far. I'm confused about where to get photos of people, food, and buildings for needs like poster and flyer templates.
Thank you very much Cristina this is so helpful!

I haven't had the chance so far to choose whether my files are free or premium.
i too have the same problem , all my uploads are set premium automatically, is free download option appearing for you now?
No, I still don't have the option to mark them as free. I'm not sure how Freepik decides it. But if you want your images to be available to download for free, maybe you can try upload them to a site like Pixabay. All resources are free there.
Do you still get "salary" if your assets set for free?
@yopibram according to Freepik, you'll only get earnings from your pictures that are set as Premium

Hi Cristina. So I'm now at the Upload step, and my pictures' outlines wouldn't turn like you at 6:55. Hence, I can't submit my pictures. Do you know what went wrong?

Whats the comission rate in general and do you only get royalties if users with premium membership download your resources?
Thank you for your questions! In my experience as a contributor you only get royalties if users with a Premium membership download your images. According to Freepik, as a contributor, normally all of your images are automatically marked s Premium, so they cannot be downloaded for free. Once your royalties surpass the minimum of 50€ or $, Freepik will generate an invoice for you and apply any rates that are applicable in your case. In my case (Spain), the invoice has a +21% VAT (amount added to the invoice) and a -15% IRPF (deducted from the invoice).

Hello! Not that I know of. I don't know of any stock GIF platforms, other than Giphy, but it would be really cool!
@@cristinasala Thanks a lot!
I was askin" if we have a psd file do we need to upload it's jpg, eps" and these files will be three in count of 20 files??
Thank you for clarifying! If you're uploading a PSD, you have to upload the PSD and a JPG preview, no EPS. This pair (PSD + JPG) counts as 1 image, since they are the same resource.
thanks, waiting for more videos about designing and freepik tips.😊
Thank you! I'm happy you liked it. I'll do my best to make more 😊
Hi Cristina, thank you for the valuable info.
@@cristinasala Thanks for your instant reply. This is really helpful.
Good luck!
@@cristinasala sure. I will check it out & let you know as well.

What are you struggling with exactly?
Hİ...I did as you show in the video but I still get the exclamation mark, I don't understand what to do. :/
Hi! Can you give me a bit more information? What does it say next to the question mark?
do you have to publish them as a premium photo or free also make money? cause there is lots of graphic source in freepik for completely free so i am kind of confused
Thank you for your question! I don't have a video on that unfortunately, but it's a great suggestion. Anything in particular you're struggling with?
Good luck! 😊
Hey cristina! i have one question about which quality of design are approved in freepik
Thanks a lot for guiding me
Happy to help! 😊 Best of luck with your designs
Can we upload as much as we want when we become a contributor? Or is there any limit to it?
Great question! You can upload virtually as much as you want. Also, depending on your contributor level you can upload batches of different sizes. At first, you'll only be able to use the web upload method, which has a minimum of 10 and maximum of 500. Once you reach Level 3 (which means you have uploaded a total of 500 images), you can use the FTP upload method, which has a limit of 3000 each time.
😅. If you're unsure about the status of your billing info, do reach out to Freepik Support, they know best and so far they've helped me with all my questions.

@@cristinasala Thank you so much for the reply. I saw it on my dashboard. do they change price per image?
Anyway, thank you for your sharing!^^ Hopefully I can be one of the contributor like you one day.)
You didn't mention the image size and is it a must I create the design myself
Yes, it's a must that you create your designs yourself.
Of course, there is a lot that I didn't mention (including image size), since Freepik's documentation is pages long and there is no time to cover it all thoroughly in a short video. I do say in the video to go and read this documentation before you create your images. You can go to these pages and Ctrl+ F for "Size".

Great question! I asked Freepik when I first started and yes, you own the right to your pictures, so you can post them anywhere you want even while they are on Freepik
Hello. I submitted jpg but rejected. It says: Send as vector (.eps). What to do?
@@cristinasala thank you so much! Already uploaded it correctly also with the preview which the issue also.

Have u tried Minting NFTs?
Hello! I haven't tried it yet, because I don't know too much about it. My gut feeling is that it might be difficult to sell an NFT unless the artist already has a big or very engaged audience, so I'm unsure about trying :)
what resolution required to upload ?
I haven't found anything specific to resolution in the Freepik requirements, only for document size. For photos, the file has to be between 2000 and 10000px on any of its sides. For vectors, the requirement is that file size is between 0.5 and 80 MB. For PSD files the file has to be between 1000-5000px and 1,5-325 MB, and te preview JPG should be 2000-10000px. To achieve these sizes, I usually export my files at 300 or 150 dpi
