I just tuned this Resurgence bow. Swapped the Whisker Biscuit V rest for a Bodoodle rest, swapped the no tie corded peep for a regular tie in peep, set the rest at 13/16" which positions a nocked arrow parallel to the stabilizer and set the arrow even with the burger holes, and D loop 1/32" high (nearly level). First bare shaft shots had major nock right impact. Bottom cam leaning slightly to cable side at brace (okay) but top cam had way too much lean to cable side at brace. I find most of my compound bows shoot better with slight cable side cam lean at brace because they straighten to neutral at draw when the cables are highly tensioned at full draw. The stock top cam had more shims on the right (about 40/60%), so I swapped them 60/40% now with more shims on the left. During the process of shimming I found that the axle length allowed 0.020 slop so I added another thin 0.020 shim to left side. The bottom cam didn't need shim tuning, but it had the same 0.020 axle slop under the C-clip so I simply added a thin 0.020 shim under one of the bottom C-clips (have since move this thin shim to the left lower shim stack). The result is now the top cam has just slight cable side lean at brace (better matching the bottom cam), and with a turn or two of yoke twist fine tuning I got rid of the nock right bare shaft impact. But then I had a nock high bare shaft impact that would not correct with rest/D-loop raising or lowering. My bow is a 60 pound max model and my tuning was with 3 to 4 turns out on the limb bolts with 400 arrows and 100 gr points. I think the early testing draw weight was not enough for the 400 deflection arrows, because once I cranked up the poundage to 50-55lbs range, the nock high went away with arrow perpendicular to string and no return of the nock right (or left). My theory is that with the left/right tuning dead on, the energy from mismatched spine went into vertical deflection. Manual said to set modules and stops to 7-1/2 for my 28.5" draw length, but I set all to 7 and it feels perfect. Tip for cam timing: I smeared a little of my wife's lipstick on the rubber back of each draw stop and then executed one shot. Both cables left "fingerprints" on their respective stops, meaning both cams were hitting dead on. Very safe and repeatable way to check cam timing and no draw board needed. Another way to check timing is to draw next to a full length mirror, but the lipstick method is even more precise. Then I penciled marked the cams where the cables cross at brace, so I can easily spot check timing at any time in the future. True, my Resurgence was out of tune when new, but it responded well to shimming and yoke tuning and now shoots very well in just one day of tuning and trial and error test shooting. Viewed from the front at brace fully tuned, a nocked arrow lines up perfectly dead center with the limb bolts and is parallel with the stabilizer. Very smooth draw cycle, low hand shock, accurate, light weight, well balanced, comfortable to handle, pleasant to shoot, and good string angle. Big cams on the 32" ATA make it aim like a more stable 34" bow. Highly recommended!

Thanks for the thorough review, it’s awesome you explain about the draw length discrepancy, explains so much frustration in my bow history.

lovin' the videos on Bear bows. im a big fan of bear and they don't deserve the credit they deserve for meeting everybody's needs. I also like the new video format. Although, sound is only coming out on one side.

Daltons customer service is awesome! Answered all the questions I had and made good recommendations based on my needs and budget. Walked me through the online options and made the process super simple. And the shipping was pretty cheap to Michigan! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to get my new bow!

That draws cycle reminds me of a Prime Centergy. Sweet bow for the money. Those cams seem to like heavy twigs, 450gr arrow at 280fps is a great speed at 29" 70lb. With the throw back camo too, Bear is hitting its stride in the last few years.

I love my resurgence RTH. I'm a first time bow owner and archery is the absolute best way to blow off steam after a hard day at work.... i shoot 20 shots a day after work and it has been a great outlet for destress..... i had it setup for 55 pounds for sighting in, i added a matching trophy ridge side bar and it balanced it perfectly as the bow doesnt want to topple over while aiming anymore and it jumps forward when shot releases alot less than it did without one. then i added a bowmar nose button for a second consistent anchor point and it is consistently spot on accurate at 30 yards(havent started sighting in for 40 yet as im trying to get groups the size of a quarter or smaller at 30 and they are about half dollar sized currently)...... releasing the arrow causes less noise than the arrow hitting the target, and its pretty lightweight. the solid backwall is nice i didnt add the limb stops that came in the box.....my only gripe is that the stock whisker biscuit turned the top of my white vanes black for whatever reason.... i have about 490 shots out of it and am taking it back to my pro shop tomorrow to let them up my poundage 5 pounds and make sure its still in tune as my peep has rotated a bit at full draw so im guessing my string is finally settled.

I just bought this RTH bow. I wanted the bare bow Alaskan, but for some reason that is a pro shop bow and hard to find whereas the Resurgence can be ordered online with much better selection. Mine is the 45-60 lbs draw. I didn't like having the corded peep with a rubber band stretched at my eyeball, so I only used it to find the peep height and then tied in a cordless peep. I ditched and upgraded the V whisker biscuit rest and ugly stabilizer. The 4 pin sight is simple to use and Okay and the fiber optic LED light works, but has no rheostat control and is too bright. A small clear plastic disc must be removed from the bottom of the battery well. The wrist strap and quiver are good. I added a quick release to the base of a Bee Stinger stabilizer. Shot well after tuning with cam shimming, yoke twisting, and poundage adjustment. Cam timing was spot on. Some complain about premature cable wear so I swapped out the stock cable guard for a PSE roller guide which works well.

Really looking into this and the species. Used to bow hunt a lot, and always had the top of the line flagship. 8 years and two kids later, the budget doesn’t allow for that flagship anymore. I look at other budget package bows, but keep circling back to bear.

Looking between a Bear Resurgence and a Diamond Alter. I’ve looked on your store and notice you don’t carry Diamond, but have you shot them vs each other ever? Honestly, there’s not a very knowledgeable staff in OKC or surrounding areas when it comes to bows that I’ve found, so I’m looking into ordering online from you. I’ve only been shooting for a month now on a used bow that I bought from a coworker with a 26 inch draw at 50 pounds. I have a 29.5 in draw, but no idea whatsoever what poundage I should be shooting, arrows, etc. I just bought some Carbon Express 60/75 from Academy and started going to town, but now I’m wanting to buy a bow and have it tuned to my specs to get more accuracy and less elbow pain 😂 how would you determine what poundage to even start at?

Does that.5-1” actual draw length longer than the setting says carry through on all their bows? I have a 31 3/4 draw length and was wanting the resurgence ld, but if that’s how their bows come in I should be able to buy something else and have it fit.
