Justin, darlin’, I’ve broken my ribs before, too, and it is NO PICNIC.
I’m not gonna sugar-coat it here but you’re in for about 4-6 weeks of some serious discomfort that will g-r-a-d-u-a-l-l-y fade away to the occasional twinge.
You MUST respect this healing time.
I speak from experience here.
Like an idiot, I tried to exert myself WAY too early and they REFRACTURED.
Let me tell you . . . THAT pain damned near launched me into orbit.
Lesson LEARNED.

Well he ended up with a collapsed lung and had surgery so he has a lot more to worry about than his ribs.
Everyone’s experience is different! He had to have surgery because of a collapsed lung! He was bleeding internally!

Absolutely agree if you are talking live shows. Saw them for Razors Edge in 1990. Best darn concert ever, and I've been to over 70 concerts. Angus was a mad man, and the crowd was so into it. Thunderstruck you could feel it in your chest

If your racing you need full body protection bro. Chest protector, leg etc. Might have helped you out. When I was young I wiped out and the bike landed on me and messed me up pretty bad.

Me and you race together I’m number 710 I got the hole shot and led for the first 4 or 5 miles and got stuck in a pile up and couldn’t catch the leader again but fun racing with you

You need to get a Face mount! Where it mounts to the Mouth of your helmet! It gets it off the top of your head and down to your mouth!
Maybe if the conditions were better from my perspective that didn't really look like It would be enjoyable. I got plenty of friends to do it. One of my friends is like yeah, I can't even hold my toothbrush the next day.
