Looking like less than 1% only 13 students out of 8,019 got off the waitlist in 2021-2022. www.bc.edu/content/dam/bc1/offices/irp/ir/cds/Boston_College_CDS_2021-2022_Final.pdf
@@CollegeCareerChamp ok thanks. I suspect they will go more extensively to the waitlist this year as they over-enrolled the previous two years. It makes sense for them to lower their acceptance rate (which they did) and slightly under enroll and use the waitlist more extensively. That’s the best hedge to over enrolling.
Hi. I got waitlisted at a college and they asked for updates or additional information. Could you please help me with it and review my essay? It would greatly help me!
@@TheAcademicweapon I was trying to say that if you go to the waitlist data for stanford 2023, its 80 instead of 8 accepted making it the intended 13.8% dawg
Maybe I understood it wrong, but are you saying based on the common set that Cornell has a really percent chance to get off the waitlist? I am asking because I was waitlisted there and it is my dream school so I'm just trying to understand my chances a bit better
Unfortunately UChicago didn't have their waitlist data on their common data set bpb-us-w2.wpmucdn.com/voices.uchicago.edu/dist/8/2077/files/2022/10/UChicago_CDS_2021-22.pdf
For the schools that don't require a LOCI, will they respond to emails regarding your LOCI? I sent mine a few days ago to the regional admissions officer, but they didn't get back yet, so would I just email it instead of the admissions committee for that school?
It’s usually not guaranteed that they’ll respond to you unfortunately unless they say they will. I recommend you still send one unless they explicitly say not to.
I know you said parents shouldn’t call the admissions office, but would it be problematic for my guidance counselor to reach out to them and vouch for me?
Good question, you should be able to see in the portal itself. This is what the other student said "@kevincucumber1:The application portal actually changed my input so some schools were showing it correct and some incorrect which is impossible cause it’s the sameapp"
Do you mean fly in to talk to an admissions officer in person? I do not recommend as it's not guaranteed you'll be able to see them. I believe your best chance is to send a letter of continued interest or have your college counselor give them a call.
My research mentor is really close to me as I interned with him for 6 months, he said he will write a polite email to the regional admissions officer to vouch for me. Is that fine or problematic?
That's great he is willing to do that, good question. What is your research mentor's specific role beyond your mentor? Usually your counselor makes more sense, but once I get more context I can get a better idea. Thanks
@@CollegeCareerChamp He didn't only mentor me, but also got me funding of 25K USD and has travelled with me research conferences. He and I share a personal bond. Also, I don't know if it will add a lot of value, but he works at the department of science and technology (govt).
@@ibelieveinmysupremacy2773 Wow that is incredible!! Huge congrats there. I think he can try to call the admissions office, but they're likely very busy. Doesn't hurt though! He sounds quite credible.
Sure! I'll make a video on how to look up this data and will use Williams college as an example (IF they have the data available as some schools do not).
Yes if you have new information or missing information from your original application that is compelling. Example: personal life impacts, grades inaccurately reported, etc.
I just created a Facebook Group for those of you that have further questions you'd like to discuss: facebook.com/groups/189940580171782
Please make the video for Waitlist 2024. Thanks!
So glad to hear about that
I'm glad it's helpful!

Hi Stephanie, I think you'll have a slightly higher chance to get off the waitlist this year, but it'll still be around 1-3%
I got on waitlist for Berkeley and UC San Diego and I’m rlly hoping I get in 🫣

If i’ve turned in an appeal for UCSB and regret not putting info such as the amount of AP tests i took, can I send in a letter to talk about such info
Yes, you definitely can that'd likely be an appeal instead of LOCI.
