I decided to use a different USB flash drive from a different brand. I formatted the new usb flash drive to NTFS. Then I copied the media creation tool to the new usb directory and opened it from there. I followed the instructions (language, x64, usb etc.) and when it was done I was able to complete the installation on my PC. Give it a try, I hope it works for you as well
Thank you so much. What I did was make sure the computer that was being used to the create the creation tool had the latest windows update. Then I reformatted the usb I was going to use as the boot. Make sure to uncheck the quick format so it properly formats the usb. Also try setting the format as NTFS instead of fat32. When the media tool has been created, make sure to connect the usb directly to the motherboard.
Summary of what worked for me: 1. Switching USB format to NTFS 2. Trying a different USB port on the device 3. Making sure to *DELETE* all drives and then once you have the unallocated space, click *NEW* and make a new partition.
this is not necessarily due to missing or corrupted files. It has been noted in the very long list of comments that it could be that you need to change the BIOS settings concerning SATA>AHCI to IDE. My particular board's BIOS does not have this option, instead it has an option called SATA AHCI MODE > enable or disable. I have to set it to disable. AHCI is primarily for RAID drives...running a single drive is not necessary. Also, it could be that the particular USB drive is not functioning correctly. I have had this happen several times. Simple test, try a separate media. Also there is the possibility that you need to place the USB drive in another "rear" usb slot. NOW all those options have been gone over. There is one more possibility. It could be the hard drive. I have had a brand new hard drive not take windows 10 at all no matter what. Warranty, RMA and 14 days later and it went swimmingly...so, keep in mind, you might not be crazy. Process of elimination, easiest first. Media? USB SLOT? BIOS SETTING? HARD DISK...?
Hey, I encountered this problem on a Dell computer, the media tool was fine, the problem was with USB port, the ports one the right did not work, had to use the port on the left.
After re-creating a new Media Creation Tool, and it not working, I ran a system diagnostic, turns out I had a bad RAM stick and it gave me the same error code you mentioned. - 0x8007025D - I simply removed one of the two sticks, and I was able to install successfully. If anybody finds this post, check your RAM as well. Thank you for your video!

One hundred points to Gryffindor (or whatever house you associate with) for this suggestion. I've been trying to get Windows to install correctly for two days after Windows update killed my computer. Your suggestion worked!
I see people saying that replacing the USB stick might solve the problem. My story is as follows: I bought a new, free OS laptop. I used Rufus to make burn the win10 ISO on a USB, and had that error. It is IMPORTANT to say that I got the error while having my laptop plugged in and using a mouse as well. I managed to get it working after I unplugged the power supply and mouse, and used my USB into the port that my mouse was using. I don't know if the port matters, but I think that u only need a 100% baterry and the mouse pad for this job. Any other cable connected to the laptop may proc that error. Again, I am not sure if this is the answer, but it worked for me. Hope it still helps someone

And when this does not fix the issue. Do as Eskima suggested below. Plug your USB drive which you just made with the Media Creation Tool into a USB slot directly on the back of the motherboard. Do not use a front, side, etc, etc mounted USB slot. Do not use a USB 3.0 slot either. These are sometimes blue in color.
I downloaded the media from microsoft and I'm still getting this error. I tried both method "usb flash drive" and "ISO file", but none of them worked. Please help me what should I do
I SOLVED THIS PROBLEM BY; (1) MAKING ISO IMAGE OF THE WINDOWS. (2) USING WIN7 USB DVD TOOL TO WRITE THE ISO ONTO USB DEVICE. THE WINDOWS INSTALLED NICELY AFTERWARDS.
This was not working for me, even with a brand new usb drive. What I eventually tried was pulling out two of my ram sticks at a time (have 4x4gb sticks) and by process of elimination found that one of the sticks was faulty and causing this error (even same error code). Memtest84 showed no errors in my memory but it still ended up being a faulty ram stick.
I approached this problem from a tech standpoint. I keep getting this error regardless of the media I use to install, or the several PC's I use to create the media. I also got the error on Windows 8 and 7 media. I have deduced that there is a problem on the PC I am installing on. I changed the HDD and updated the bios, still the same problem. I even get errors installing Linux ISO's. I am thinking there is a problem with IO controller on the motherboard! *Revised* Turned out to be a bad ram module on the installation PC.I pulled out a 2 gig ram stick and everything installed fine !!
Thanks, this worked for me :) I don't know why it happened but tried the same USB drive on two different PC and laptop and turned out fine, but on the third laptop I tried I got this error message and doing this solved it.

It was my USB drive. Tried every option I had, multiple OS's, every port, multiple Bios settings, until I grabbed a old shitty hard drive, let Windows Media Creation Tool format 32 GB of space on it over the course of an hour, and it worked flawlessly.
Great video, however that didn't solve the problem for me. I know the media is fine as I use it all the time to do repairs with, but I humored myself anyway and created new media, same issue. I tried a different hard drive same issue. I reduced the partition size to below 100GB as that was another suggested solution, but no resolve. What happens is it gets to the checking for updates part and after all that it suddenly stops and tells me windows 10 couldn't be installed on this pc then it brings me back to windows 7 any help?
I got the same error message after following the instructions in this video. It got up to 40% before it popped on the screen. I spent a large amount of money for my laptop and desperately need help, do you have any suggestions?
The fix for this issue is change the partition scheme when making a bootable usb drive. And make sure the ssd or the hdd is also the same partition scheme. Then try installing and the problem will just go away.
Was reinstalling my windows 11 pro (my second time, used same copy of OS like the first time, used also same USB) that suddenly I can't get pass this part. Didn't really expect to get an error (my first time was quick, no error or anything) so I wipeout the primary drive along the way thinking that it's fine. And now, I don't have an OS to get back to to troubleshoot this issue. :(
My error is not that ... it says that I do not have a hard drive but if there is ... before I had win 10 and I went to win 8 and then format and go to 7 to finally go to ubuntu 16.04 LTS and now I want to move to win 10 for student reasons .... and I find this ... that I do?
I faced an error after reinstalling windows. It took quite a long time to login, and after that, the screen keeps being blank and showing the older user interface. Could you please help?
hey britec thx for helpful video as always. idk if you ever had or saw this problem before but if you did. could you help solve the problem plz? i keep getting randomly blue screens and then the computer restart. the error is something like that irql_not_less_or_equal i had this problem before but its was soo rare i could do months without it but now it's happening more. it's the 3rd time this week and it's did happen a few times last week and the week before too. i am with windows 10 and yess did google the problem but i didnt find anything much that could help or understand ( i am french) and there is no video that show me how to fix it. soo before going to a repair shop or going back to window 7 i came here. if you could help me it's would be great and again nice work with the video. p.s sorry for my bad english..

My friend has this issue and he has done what it says in this video where he downloaded a new version of windows 10 but he still gets the same error code. Do you know any way to fix this??
i didn't remove the System Reserved partition, and a Win.7 and then a Win.10 installs have failed with this message . with the 10's install i couldn't remove a partition which i tried to install 7 to, then i removed them all with the 7, created with the 10 and the 10 have installed fine . used: Daemon Tools Ultra to Burn and the 2 CDs, some why NTFS USB storage with the official Win.10 wasn't recognized on the BIOS launch, but in a running Windows it was recognized as an installation carrier .
If you want to cancel the whole installation and just return back to your normal pc how do you do it? Mine is just infite looping with the "Install Now" but when I remove my USB its just a blinking curser and I couldnt do anything. When I boot it I cant press any options especially the Hard Drive one, the others just bring me back to the blinking cursor. HELP

Will this version (from windows 10 install media) be oem or box edition? And is this safe to run on Windows 10 PC (I want to make VMware VM and I don't think it will accept USB drive).
The only thing that helped me - i just disconnected all other hardrives and usb things, and after I tried to install the iso-win10 not by Microsoft media tool but with rufus 3.0, and the win10 was installed without errors!
This did not work for me either. I was sure it was not my USB as I am able to use it on many other computers. As well as I have several USB windows 10 devices and those did not work either. What did work for me and you might want to check as well if this video does not help is the RAM, AKA Memory. I removed one of the memory modules after doing that I still had the problem so I put the one I took out back in and removed the leftover one. Now the install works just perfect. So check your RAM!
My problem is weird and simple, basically as soon as I install windows the pc freezes, I was trying to fix it for 2 weeks and nothing worked 😥 ((( please any solution )))
Received this error on a laptop I was doing a fresh install of windows on a new SSD drive. Ended up a bad stick of RAM. Once I removed the bad stick, no issues.
While installing windows, we format the drive (previous windows). So how we go back now... If we formatted already our C:\ drive...? And correct this error by provided solution.?
I have a same problem now ,but more than that I don't have operating system so can't open it and download creative media tools ,any option or can I do from safe mode?
I personally, seriously and honestly don't think that the root cause for these Windows 10 installation errors is due to corrupt media even though doing this method will most likely fix this issue (not every single time). Back on XP I've used the only one disc that came with it when I purchased it countless times without ever having any kind of installation error. Same with my Windows 7 disc and then after SP1 came out for it, the one single USB drive I installed it on.
I agree, I used the media creation tool to create a usb. Used it to install on one pc absolutely fine, then the next pc an hour later this error message. Bet my old xp and windows 7 discs would still work straight away!
Mine was going really really slow, I’m on an lga 1150 mobo I waited 4 hours for it to install and it failed, I looked at my data cable I was using and it was labelled “comax”basically it’s an ancient cable, I swapped for a black 6/gbs cable and it completed the update in 3minutes. This won’t be everyone’s problem but it’s worth a check if you have an old tower pc like me, I hope this helped someone because I wanted to head butt a wall
I dont know. I just got a new pc and i wanted to install windows on it but when it started installing i got this error too. Can you please reply if you find a solution?
For me, it seemed to be a memory issue. I tried multiple times, changing the USB stick, installing windows on another drive, but none of these succeeded. But when I noticed in BIOS that memory voltage was set to 1.5xxxV, I changed to [Auto] after that the installation was perfectly fine without any errors.
It worked! Thanks a lot. Did not think the included USB drive would be the problem!!!
Summary of what worked for me:
1. Switching USB format to NTFS
2. Trying a different USB port on the device
3. Making sure to *DELETE* all drives and then once you have the unallocated space, click *NEW* and make a new partition.
I’ve tried all of these but nothing works? Help me please

Thanks Brian - As always very well explained. Have a great ( UK warmer) weekend!
+1954BJohn Cheers John, its cold here right now. Might need a wee tipple over the weekend :)
I had a situation that once i did clean install of windows 7, I could then do a clean install of windows 10 after it with success, but not windows 10 directly, this was on a much older machine G31M-ES2L running a xeon, if anyone has similar difficulty.
hey.. I did all that already. Downloaded the Media Center Tool thing, Booted from my USB drive. tried to install Windows 8.1. but I got the error message anyway.. But when I when through the installation process again it worked I didn't needed to format my drive or anything! ☺☺
I did checked most of the videos related to this topics, nothing worked for me, all I did is removed one ram from a dual ram and tried installing the OS with one ram and it finally worked without any error, I suggest try playing with swapping the ram slots, unplugging ram and using one ram... maybe it might for you guys.....
This didn't worked for mine case but i have a trick and that is to remove one of your ram and it will probably work as in mine case it worked in the first attempt only
What is ridiculous, I am getting this error message after creating a USB windows media using the Windows 10 media creation tool.... SMH
Same here bout to smash my pc just so I don’t have to deal with Microsoft’s bs anymore. Always have issues with windows.
Mitchell Guerriero same i rlly need help
Try a different usb
Sell it on black market
The fix for this issue is change the partition scheme when making a bootable usb drive. And make sure the ssd or the hdd is also the same partition scheme. Then try installing and the problem will just go away.
Was reinstalling my windows 11 pro (my second time, used same copy of OS like the first time, used also same USB) that suddenly I can't get pass this part. Didn't really expect to get an error (my first time was quick, no error or anything) so I wipeout the primary drive along the way thinking that it's fine. And now, I don't have an OS to get back to to troubleshoot this issue. :(
But anyways, good video. I learned what really caused this error. Ty!
My error is not
that ... it says that I do not have a hard drive but if there is ...
before I had win 10 and I went to win 8 and then format and go to 7 to
finally go to ubuntu 16.04 LTS and now I want to move to win 10 for student reasons .... and I find this ... that I do?
Hi Brian Sir, is it okay to not delete the partion? Just format the windows drive and install?
Thank you Sir.
I faced an error after reinstalling windows. It took quite a long time to login, and after that, the screen keeps being blank and showing the older user interface. Could you please help?
hey britec thx for helpful video as always. idk if you ever had or saw this problem before but if you did. could you help solve the problem plz? i keep getting randomly blue screens and then the computer restart. the error is something like that irql_not_less_or_equal i had this problem before but its was soo rare i could do months without it but now it's happening more. it's the 3rd time this week and it's did happen a few times last week and the week before too. i am with windows 10
and yess did google the problem but i didnt find anything much that could help or understand ( i am french) and there is no video that show me how to fix it. soo before going to a repair shop or going back to window 7 i came here. if you could help me it's would be great and again nice work with the video.
p.s sorry for my bad english..
So, what if this is my 50th usb drive that I've made with the creation tool, all on different USB drives, all made with varying computers, just to be safe? There can't be corruption on the drives, not all of them.. this is impossible.
Moving the usb stick to the rear worked for my after at least 20 attempts.

HELP
Thank you! 🥰 I had this problem on my family laptop, i needed to make the installer mbr, and after these fixes, i was able to clean reinstall the family laptop. THX man again 🥰

When you've been at it for months you try anything but thankfully this advice right here helped me
I aint got no windows now in my pc! How should i download it??
I tried making a new usb 3.0 stick with the usb creation tool and i'm still getting the 8025D error.
Got this error two, after install 32bit windows 10 i get no errors. not really know the real reason but it works!
So check your RAM!
holy fuck you were right, it was the god damn ram, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar, thank you so much for this...i may sleep now
Hey ill try it and tell if its works
I remove a RAM i have 2 8gb xfury, remove one, same error, swap rams and wala now have w10 on ssd
RenkoverGG El Gato Gamer could you put the other one back in after you got win10 working?
THANK YOU SO MUCH THAT HAPPEND TO ME AT 16% IT GIVED ME THE ERROR AND NOW ITS FIXED!!!!!
but how
My problem is weird and simple, basically as soon as I install windows the pc freezes, I was trying to fix it for 2 weeks and nothing worked 😥 ((( please any solution )))
I used the same USB drive to install, but I deleted the old recovery partition like in this video. That seemed to solve the problem.
I just did that to try before formating the USB and starting all over
Mine was going really really slow, I’m on an lga 1150 mobo I waited 4 hours for it to install and it failed, I looked at my data cable I was using and it was labelled “comax”basically it’s an ancient cable, I swapped for a black 6/gbs cable and it completed the update in 3minutes. This won’t be everyone’s problem but it’s worth a check if you have an old tower pc like me, I hope this helped someone because I wanted to head butt a wall
Thanks man this is now (8%) not (0%) then required files... i hope this work (100%)
Only Microsoft could make an incredibly simple process extremely complicated for everyone.
Are there other solutions ,because i can't enter to Windows, when i turn on my computer windows setup starts
ye you forget about the usb or cd in your pc

Hi there
I am very grateful it worked out after watching your video.
Thank you so much same problem
Thanks @Britec09. This helped alot
thank you very much for this mate
