    Hi Brian, Thanks for bringing these issues to everyone's attention. There's not an awful lot of info about. I've noticed both of the main issues from day one after the update. The SFC errors are something to do with WebView2 hash values not matching if you check the log file. I can confirm that the problems you mentioned still remain, even after the last Patch Tuesday (08.10.24) updates (26100.2033). However, one of the main problems that CTT has discovered is that Micro$oft has included Recall as a hidden dependency of Windows Explorer in 24H2. It is being installed for everyone with 24H2 like it or not, whether you have a co-pilot+ PC or not. They have gone too far with this recall nonsense. It was fully stealthed on my PC with no way of disabling it in the settings panel, but it can be uninstalled via a DISM command. What do you know, Micro$oft up to something again...

    • @Britec09
      @Britec09  2 часа назад +3

      The Recall feature can be uninstalled in the European version of Windows 11. Microsoft likely introduced the uninstall option to comply with the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA). Microsoft will bring the Recall feature to the Windows Insider Program in October. CTT lives in the USA, so he cannot uninstall recall.

    • @markbaker8280
      @markbaker8280 2 часа назад +1

      @@Britec09 Just as an added bonus Brian, I successfully un-installed it yesterday using DISM, guess what? I've just run the command again and successfully un-installed it again! It's being re-installed almost instantly I would think, or it might be yet another BUG I've discovered in DISM! Determined or what? It's fun being an early adopting tweaker. Think I'm going back to 23H2...😆Cheers! Mark

      I had some update issues on Win10 about a month or two ago. Went to the AI and had to clean some updates cache via command. Then I could install security updates.
      Other time, on Win11, maybe 4 months ago, I looked at the partitions in the disk manager, suddenly finding out it had a bitlocker on. Went to settings... it offered me to turn the bitlocker on. Coded into the command to find out the bitlocker key. None found. Coded to check encryption. Used space was indeed encrypted. How? I have no idea what shady practices this 💩-ty system does, but I had to code to decrypt it and then check it up, to have it confirmed it was then fully decrypted. WTF is this system doing?

      That's exactly the same attitude that people had when Windows XP was released, then with Windows 7 and then with Windows 10. It's getting boring, if you don't want to upgrade then don't upgrade but don't get upset when software no longer supports the OS you are using.

    Got another tech on youtube i watched yesterday that is saying the storage sense and sfc issues are not bugs that it's normal for them to behave that way and that sfc is not an important tool any way so it's no big deal! Some folks just think more of themselves than they should i guess cause clearly these are bugs.

    One more issue that I just read about this morning on PC World's web site is that the update can take well more than an hour. Per PC World : " How long will it take to update your PC to the Windows 11 2024 Update? If my tests are any indicator, you’d be twiddling your thumbs for a lot longer than usual. Microsoft characterizes Windows 11 24H2, formally known as the Windows 11 2024 Update, as a “full OS swap.” Until now, Microsoft pushed incremental updates to your PC, with only the code needed to perform security or feature updates. The language that Microsoft is using now implies that this is a much more involved process and that seems to be true. I tested downloading and installing Windows 11 24H2 on four separate laptops. Each took at least an hour to install and some much more. Put another way, this isn’t something that you can take care of quickly - quite a change from the quick Windows 11 feature updates of the last few years. "

    Brian, may be a "fix" for the 8gb of stubborn storage, if you have a duel boot system, so this only applies to those with 1 or more OS's but if you know the exact file(s) that are causing the issue, you could try deleting the 8gb from say Windows 10 if you're duel booting 10 and 11. Just a thought and may be worth experimenting with.

    When I thought I had updates stopped, they managed to sneak in that bloody update anyway. The list of problems is endless.
    Memory is used like 50% on startup on my laptop.
    When I close the lid and restart it, there's 50/50 chance of getting a blue screen. I can't get the login screen without pressing Crtl-Alt-Del when it's been on pause..... How crazy is that.
    My games? They start up with 5fps speed 😢 not playable at all.
    I did get some of the extra downloads mentioned again yes.
    Btw, i do get the need for the in video promotion, but what's the point of recommending a site for buying windows 11 keys if it's so terrible as you make us aware of ?????
    Mind boggling for sure.

      My laptop I converted to Linux came with Win11 Pro, so I can install a VM and do whatever I need. My RAM can go up to 64gb. For now I am fine with 16GB. I am pretty sure, if the market gave general folks a choice between Windoze and Linux laptops or computers minus the licence cost, and got it explained what it can and cannot do, Windoze would see a rapid decline in the user base. It just enjoys the inherent monopoly at the moment.

    I did give it a try again and it duplicates the features so you have 2 versions...the clean up tool does not work as should nor anything related to it least my side but seems like everyone else is in the same boat...
    The reason for it i think its cuz of the small updates as you need the main version then the update comes you have both new and old version still and as the new update depends on the old version you get 2 duplicate features(You cant see this ones they are hidden)...this is just my opinion and how i see it thats why it wont remove it and if you force remove it...well this cause more issues
    24h2 i think it should stay more in development rather than rushing it out as its not even ready or was least ready for use but yeah they will fix it in the few updates later on for sure but then suffer with issues is not worth using and day to day users have no idea why theird PC just crash or why they get errors caused by the 24h2
