The reason why The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack Pilot was never released is because the creator said the pilot was bad and didn't wanted to show it on public.
I heard the creator of Robot Jones wanted the series to end with Jones going against humanity Skynet style, which would’ve been... interesting. Can you imagine a show with this art style ending that way?
I would feel a little sad, robot jhones looked like a nice robot to look like that, just like in the episode when robot jhones was a hall inspector, he was almost try to do that
Also, there was an episode where Jimmy went to detention after a toon convinced him to throw a paper plane to a teacher. He wore jail clothes and everything. Then there was an episode where he mocked the penguin comedian to where he left Jimmy's gead in embarrassment. To get his trust back, Jimmy went to the talent show and sang about the character and danced with the characters (everyone in audience didn't see the toons or heard the song so it was too akward for them to watch, and left). Jimmy's girlfriend joined to support him and the penguin comedian returned

Solved. we found it... Lost Media Search: Cartoon - "The Man Plugged Into The Wall." (actual name unknown) I think Sometime between 1994 and 1998 (And definitely not after 2000), Cartoon network ran a one time special showcasing various short films done with alternative animation styles. They ran it for one night, repeatedly. The short films featured had won awards at film festivals or something like that. I barley remember anything about it and can't find any information on it. One of the short films was so striking that it's stayed with me to this day almost 24 years later. It had a modern style of animation. It was very minimalist, done with just a few simple black lines that create shapes and impressions without details. A man in a suit sitting at a desk, a picture of his family on the desk. A Southern or African American narrator (He has a draw) talks about him and his life. The man finds a chord attached to his foot, and yanks on it. He's never noticed it before, but he notices it goes down the hallway. He follows it gathering it up as he walks. It leads him to an actual wall outlet where he's apparently plugged in. He pulls the plug from the wall, everything fades to white, and the narrator says something like "And no one ever heard from him again". This was troubling to me as a kid, and I've often thought about it when life seems weird and existentially strange to me. The whole brain in a vat sort of thing. I'm very interested and motivated to find it. If you have any recollection, or memory of what i'm talking about, or access to any archives I don't know about, please leave me a reply. Thanks for reading ~James Calico #LostMedia

i didn't know that out of jimmy's head became a lost show. but i remember watching it a long time ago, might as well tell my story. i remember one episode that freaked me out (and no im not making it up) but the plot was that jimmy found some old papers in what i can remember an attic. he starts being hunted by these ghosts. the ghosts i remember vividly, they were stock photos of real human body parts like eyes, arms, and a mouth, and they were all a certain color like the arms were green and the eyes were blue. the ghosts would fallow jimmy around and nobody but him and the cartoon characters could see them. the creepiest thing is that the ghosts would tell him to "finish them" in a spooky voice. jimmy (and i'm not joking) thinks that they want to die, as in finish them. so he takes the papers to an incinerator, ware he gets the idea that they don't want to die, but instead be finished because they were actually an unfinished drawing. so he draws on the papers to complete the unfinished drawing of what i remember being a cartoon moose. if i remember the human arms were actually the antlers on the moose. i am not making any this up, and im sure that its episode 5 because the title of the episode is "Ghosts".
I remember one episode from the show had the best friend pretending to be a psychic. He guessed that the school reporter's favourite sandwich is "PBJ". The reporter (super impressed) said that she was shocked that he knew about her pastrami, banana, and jelly sandwiches. She then writes a story about how he is an awesome psychic. That was the type of show it was.
7:55 this is actually such a sweet idea, especially because the items weren't a marketing shill for the show, just things that any kid could find around the house, no matter their parent's income or involvement. That's the inclusivity in audience engagement I wish more kid's media had.
I feel like I'm the only one that liked Destroy Build Destroy, I obviously would have preferred most of the cartoons even then, but I didn't mind watching it at all. Then again I was the kid that stayed up 2 hours past his bedtime laying in bed watching George Lopez and Everybody Hates Chris.
I'm embarrassed to admit this but when I was a kid I absolutely loved Out of Jimmy's Head. I loved it so much that I recorded the whole season on my parents DVR. My dad helped me record them and told me that he was originally going to sell it at that time because nobody used it in my household anymore, but since I found a show I liked a lot (And I mean A LOT. For some reason I was obsessed with it) he pretty much gave it to me, and ever since it became my machine. Nobody touched it since and funny enough that was the only show I recorded on TV because at the time I started getting into buying DVD's, which is what started my journey as a collector. If I remember correctly, I taped all the episodes they aired because I can still remember small snippets from the episodes in my mind. Unfortunetly, I no longer have the DVR nor the episodes anymore. I kept it in the attic with all my other shit I didn't want to bring with me when I moved out of my parents house years ago. I would ask my parents to simply retrieve them so I could possibly try to release them online for all you lovely folks because I just recently got into the wonderful world of Lost Media... But my dad (The only parent I ever got along with throughout my life growing up) sadly died 7 years ago. My mom (who was an abusive sh*t) lives alone in the very same house but we don't talk anymore (not like we ever really did but you get the point). I would love to call her up and ask if I could possibly retrieve some of my old stuff and say my younger son found a new interest in my old toys, etc.. But we left on bad terms and simply put I don't think a stupid children show is worth it in my eyes. Just wanted to tell my story about it and to confirm that there are copies of the show still in existence... Maybe, depends if she threw my crap out after I moved out but yeah that's my story... Sorry to burst your hope bubbles.
Damian Marshall Only thing worth going to see your mom to get the DVR is to get the internet fame and possibly money from leaking out the show on the internet.
Robot Jones was one of my favorite shows back then and I totally remember when they changed the voice. It shocked me in a good way and I honestly really liked Robot's new voice. That being said, I thought that you were gonna cover the episode where Robot wore an Abraham Lincoln head because I saw that episode only once, maybe once again with the new voice, and I wanted to know if it was just that I never caught it on reruns or if it was deemed controversial or something.
CN has a very rich history behind it, though CN seems to have a habit of burying it's history for one reason or another. Just look at the animation documentary series "Toonheads", in which 90% of the episodes are lost, including all but two episodes of the second season.
I never watched that much TV as a kid, and the vast majority of the shows listed here aired before I was born. But it warms my heart to see people in the comments getting all nostalgic over these shows, remembering what it was like being a kid. It makes me feel somewhat nostalgic myself.
I do! They should bring back a lot of things: What a Cartoon, Cartoon Planet, weekday Toonami or Meguzi, Toon Heads, Oh, Canada, classic cartoons, etc.
ah man, i felt like none of my friends remembered "whatever happened to robot jones", weirdly glad to see it here? watching this vid actually helped clear up what i thought were wonky memories and proved robot jones WAS a text-to-speech voice originally
Pretty much as when I moved to my aunt's house in August 1993 ( I was 13), I just had cable, comics/manga (Sonic, Ranma, Ninja Highschool, Furrlough, Animerica, etc), and videogames (Genesis, TG16, etc) for things to do as we were 20 miles (just a country party store within walking distance) away from everything. I watched everything Cartoon Network, Sci-Fi Channel, and USA Network (Up all Night and Duckman, baby!) from 93-99. Luckily my grandma and aunt spoiled me with the other entertainment during those 6+ years. :P
I don't recall those by name, maybe if I saw some of the animation I might recognize them, I stopped watching Cartoon Network pretty soon after getting to High-school and Nick when they started doing the "reality" Teen Nick crap.
Robot Jones was one of my favorite shows as a kid! I even remember back when the leads voice changed from computer to person. I remember being a little confused but also not minding it that much since it sounded cuter and it was easier for my 7-8 year old brain to understand lol. Plus I heard there was copyright issues for using the text-to-speech for commercial productions from a studio or something like that, and that was part of the reason it changed. I don't know for sure, I just remember hearing something about it
Kunaigirl I figured it was because the voice can be hard to understand at times, but the copyright issue is a very plausible explanation. I prefer the voice over too. I feel like it makes Jones seem more like a relatable middle schooler, and less of a grumpy adult who's forced to interact with middle schoolers.
Yeah for sure! Plus it helped convey emotions better, which was kind of part of the whole point of the show. Jones was a robot who could feel emotions while trying to fit in/learn with humans. (Though of course the highlight of the show was when he wouldn't know what to do/how to react to the emotions he had) It was such a charming show and I remember being so let down when it got axed. It sucks because not a lot of people remember it or watched it back when it was on, I think out of all my friends only like 2 of us ever watched it back in 2002.
Kunaigirl Yeah, honestly. It's kinda ironic that My Life as a Teenage Robot - which had a similar concept and used an older-looking art style - got cut short too. I'd like to see a similar show concept get rehashed today and see how well it does. I've always been interested in robots (thanks to Astro Boy), and I'm sad that Robot Jones had it's run cut short.
The copyright issue is a myth. Cartoon Network made them change the voice because they thought it was scaring away potential advertisers. They also gave it a terrible schedule just as it was staring to gain good ratings and pissed off the creator so much that he walked off.
I didn't know that! Like I said it was just something I'd heard. But yeah. It seems like robot-centric shows in general get cut shot a lot of the times (at least in my experience idk) and it sucks because I absolutely LOVE the concept of robots trying to find their way in a different society especially in animation. Maybe that's just the sci-fi geek in me too. Plus like every single robot character ever is super adorable? Robot jones is actually what started my love of robot characters since like I said before, I was like 7 when it aired for the first time and I was so hooked!

TDI CharlieBrown True
I seen it when I was younger. The doctor who was in a way related to Jimmy kept trying to get into his head
He did get to him once but Jimmy gave consent to save some thing (I forgot what it was)
Also, there was an episode where Jimmy went to detention after a toon convinced him to throw a paper plane to a teacher.
And if it was on Nickelodeon.
I was so sure I must've made up Robot Jones because that show feels like a fever dream. I remember barely a thing about it but I remember it. I couldn't find anything online looking it up since I knew no names or real plot info, so I just assumed I was insane lmfao.

The irony in the full name of the show being "Whatever Happened to Robot Jones" is too good to pass up

the show isnt aware that they referenced mario way too much in the uncle even though everyone knows nintendo pays a high price to reference that stuff or any other random stuff when its hungry. not dissin

Yes, a dub exists in Arabic.
Johnny Bravo always reminded me of Elvis, it all makes sense now.
Not Albert Wesker, huh

The Adventure Time episode "Simon and Marcy" was stated to originally have been much darker according to the Adventure Time showrunner and storyboarder Adam Muto, the storyboards of Simon and Marcy were never released online. Its possible the storyboards showed the original darker version of the story and that's why they never released it. You could cover this in a future video!
Omg I loved Whatever Happened To Robot Jones. It was so weird and different. It was awesome. I even liked the original robot voice. I thought it was really cool.

I would love to hear Johnny Bravo commentate over some really dark shows like Berserk or Hellsing loool.
except neither series would have debuted on cartoon network and would have been given to Adult Swim's toonami, in which they actually did air Hellsing Ultimate last year

Lost Media Search: Cartoon - "The Man Plugged Into The Wall." (actual name unknown)
I think Sometime between 1994 and 1998 (And definitely not after 2000), Cartoon network ran a one time special showcasing various short films done with alternative animation styles.
Thanks for reading
~James Calico

i didn't know that out of jimmy's head became a lost show. but i remember watching it a long time ago, might as well tell my story. i remember one episode that freaked me out (and no im not making it up) but the plot was that jimmy found some old papers in what i can remember an attic. he starts being hunted by these ghosts. the ghosts i remember vividly, they were stock photos of real human body parts like eyes, arms, and a mouth, and they were all a certain color like the arms were green and the eyes were blue. the ghosts would fallow jimmy around and nobody but him and the cartoon characters could see them. the creepiest thing is that the ghosts would tell him to "finish them" in a spooky voice. jimmy (and i'm not joking) thinks that they want to die, as in finish them. so he takes the papers to an incinerator, ware he gets the idea that they don't want to die, but instead be finished because they were actually an unfinished drawing. so he draws on the papers to complete the unfinished drawing of what i remember being a cartoon moose. if i remember the human arms were actually the antlers on the moose. i am not making any this up, and im sure that its episode 5 because the title of the episode is "Ghosts".
OMG
Why did it get lot of bad feedback from critics?!
That's some Lost Tape Creepypasta Bullshit Right There!
I remember an episode where Jimmy went to Jail (detention) for throwing a paper plane in class because the toons convinced him too
I remember one episode from the show had the best friend pretending to be a psychic. He guessed that the school reporter's favourite sandwich is "PBJ". The reporter (super impressed) said that she was shocked that he knew about her pastrami, banana, and jelly sandwiches. She then writes a story about how he is an awesome psychic. That was the type of show it was.
I get spooked watching these videos, thats probably why I really enjoy them.

Return the slab or suffer my curse
Even though the show doesn't have a big fan base, I'm sure all those episodes are valuable now. I hope you still have them.
Damian Marshall do it for the internet fame op
Damian Marshall Only thing worth going to see your mom to get the DVR is to get the internet fame and possibly money from leaking out the show on the internet.

Luckily my grandma and aunt spoiled me with the other entertainment during those 6+ years. :P
CaptmagiKono Same here, its not even only CN. It was Disney, Nickloden and others.
Your not alone brother, as I too watched tv a lot as a kid, do you recall some shows like Megas XLR, Martin Mystery and Robot Boy?
I don't recall those by name, maybe if I saw some of the animation I might recognize them, I stopped watching Cartoon Network pretty soon after getting to High-school and Nick when they started doing the "reality" Teen Nick crap.
Whatever Happened to Robot Jones was another classic that went underrated at its time
Robot Jones was one of my favorite shows as a kid!
I thought that "Reanimated" show is just my imagination. Its actually real! Thank you so much! ;u;
DecimusYna kinda ironic
Hey guys! I'm the person who found the JBVO DBZ clip. If you want to ask me any questions about it or other things related to JBVO, leave a comment and I'll try to answer. There's a lot of backstory behind it that I want to clear up.
Captain B. Zarre. I never heard of this.
Captain B. Zarre Cool. How'd you find it?
Captain B. Zarre How did you found it and was it interesting?
I found it on a random VHS tape that had a recording of "Gay Pur-ee" from Cartoon Theater on it, along with some Comedy Central material. Never bothered to check the tape until now, and it has 5 seconds of the JBVO DBZ episode on it for some reason.
Captain B. Zarre Did you have an account on the Lost Media Wiki?
I’m old enough to remember how fun Cartoon Network use to be. Ever since that lady took over CN that Network hasn’t been the same.
