I'm really happy that this video has a constant focus on hammering in the fact that "pilot" does not mean "first episode" but is usually an idea that could possibly become the first episode, or even just another episode entirely.
I remember the biggest punch in the gut from my childhood in terms of lost media was from one of my favourite cartoons - Beast Wars Transformers. In Season 3 there was supposed to be an episode called Dark Glass where Rattrap finds the data tracks of the original DinoBot and downloads them into the clone. That was going to explain how the clone got the memories of the original DinoBot in the final episode.
@SewerReviewer if you ever do another video on cancelled episodes you could mention Dark Glass and The Missing Coach as 2 episodes that were key to the storyline.
One of the most obscure and strange pilots is the Sad Story Of Henry (1953) It was a early pilot for a BBC Live action show about the railway series, and was made with models, just like thomas the tank engine almost 30 years later. The thing that makes this obscure is that when the episode was being filmed, the engine Henry derailed on a set of points, and people in the studio can be heard frantically trying to put it back on the rails, as a giant hand picks the train up, and gave it a push. There is no footage of this pilot, but there is a few photos of the models used.
@@PerpIsPerp I mean, it was 1953, cameras weren't very good, as if they even existed back then, so there's a chance we might not see The Sad Story Of Henry pilot.

Dude This Sucks should probably stay lost. Its rare that I say that about a piece of lost media, but honestly the fact something like that even happened on set is downright disgusting and for the sake of those affected by it I hope it doesn't get to the public. And before you ask about Frogmen, yes it primarily starred OJ Simpson, but from the looks of things they didn't harm people in the making of the pilot, unintentionally or otherwise.
Just days after release, an update on Down the Mine has come out. While there was thought to be very little hope left for finding it among many who had searched in the past, while hope is still held by many. Out of nowhere, the dialogue script for both Down the Mine(original pilot) and Hullo Twins!/The Missing Coach where found.

So, I know a show that not only has a lost pilot, but the entire show has been missing since the air date, and I don't see it get mentioned much despite it's popularity back when it aired. Back in 2009, Fox and Harvey Levin Productions made this show called Beyond Twisted, and the pilot was incredibly loved, but once they aired the show, they replaced the host and it went downhill from there, kinda surprised that no one has mentioned it despite it being popular around that time. Barely any information exists and there's no clips online.

Great video! Was very surprised Mess of Blues was so far down given how important and sought after it is, but different people come across information at different times. To throw my hat in the ring, how about a pilot that isn't lost, but had a cut segment that IS? The Invader Zim pilot is easily accessible, being released in its original version as a DVD extra back in 2004 and even airing on Nicktoons (albeit an edition version) in very late 2010. However, the climactic food fight between Zim and Dib was originally done in CGI. That version was scrapped and reanimated in 2D. There are some screenshots of what the 3D character models looked like, but no actual footage. I'm surprised it's not talked about more, particularly within the fandom. Given how unusually open the crew is with production material (and I'm talking "every single finalized script is publicly available" levels of open), I'm sure that clip would be easy to obtain if the search just got more attention.
Ayo?? An hour long video?? Sewer you blessed us. Edit: Also gonna add some things about the Handy Manny Pilot (cause honestly, I am mostly interested in this pilot out of the ones mentioned in this video) is that the most interesting thing about this pilot (at least from the images we do have as of this comment) was that Manny’s dog Fix-It (for those who aren’t knowledgeable about the show or haven’t seen it in a while. Manny has a robotic dog named Fix-It) isn’t present in any of the screen shots which makes sense since she either likely didn’t exist yet (cause in the show, she was built in a early episode) or she did exist in this specific pilot but we haven’t seen her yet and also we haven’t seen Mr Lopart’s (aka the gentleman at 23:54) cat named Fluffy which is interesting cause unlike Fix It. Mr Lopart always had Fluffy with him so if Fluffy didn’t exist in this particular pilot it was likely she was created later in development (assuming similar to Fix It and Flicker and Flicker is Manny’s flashlight and the only reason why I brought him up is because he joined the group much later so I doubt he existed in the pilot)

One lost media pilot I want to see get more coverage is the pilot for Allen Gregory. Some of you might remember the fox cartoon starring Jonah Hill about a pretentious 7 year old boy going to school and interacting with the common man, the show was a colossal failure as it was critically panned and only lasted 7 episodes before being axed from the network and wiped off the face of the Earth. The episodes are pretty hard to find in decent quality nowadays as it is, but the original pilot from the 2 minute promo is just straight up lost. A lot of the dialogue and scene structures are different in the pilot, and most notably, the animation is a lot more bouncier and charming compared to the final show. RebelTaxi managed to get in contact with an animator who claimed that the team knew that the animation company wouldn't be able to make the entire series look like that, and the higher-ups kept demanding them to emulate Family Guy more and more, causing both the animation and the entire show to get worse before it was even out. If this obscure dumpster fire of a show can generate some more public interest, then maybe we can find the full original pilot and see if it was any better than the final show.
There’s a piece of Partially lost media that I’ve been trying to find for 3 years now, it’s a horror show called 13 The Fear Is Real which is a reality show based around 13 contestants who have to find out who is the killer among them that is killing off every contestant in each episode. I first watched the show back in 2009 when it aired on the know cancelled horror channel known as Chiller. What made me revisit this show again was a memory I had of watching an episode where two female contestants were trapped in the trunk of a car, and a timer was set to go off and crush both of them if they didn’t get out in time. I’ve tried searching the web to see if I could find the show but there are no sources I can go to find the show at all. I did manage to find one episode on RUclips by an unknown uploader which is episode 3 of season 1. But that’s the only episode I was able to find, I even went on IMDb to see if I could find a place to watch it anywhere, but no luck. a clip of the original Down The Mine was actually used in the show. The shot is of Thomas in Knapford's yard and you can tell this isn't the same as the model they used for all of Season 1. There are also multiple images of Sir Topham Hat that are scattered around the season
You should've brought up the Space Channel 5 News MTV Pilot Block when talking about Cyber Cindy because that was almost exactly what it was like, but with Ulala
I think that the Family Guy unaired pilot was made around 1998, because in 1999 the design of the Griffin Family has been already made. You can see arts made by Seth in 1998 and they are in their final design.
thank you for letting me know that the bear in the big blue house pilot was found, because ive been very invested in the search but i never saw that it was found 🤯
The danger mouse one I believe the original voice actor for DM got a different job, or died, so they had to replace him. They also reworked his character so he fit more with the slightly bumbling hero instead of the ultra competent character that fit the previous voice actor.
ITV also gave the world shows like Pop/ (whatever country you live in) Idol, X Factor, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Mr Bean and Downton Abbey. And probably made most of the British remakes of US shows that I know of.
wait, i think i might have seen that curious george pilot at school. i have a vague memory from 5-k of a man i had never seen before wheeling a tv into the classroom, the teacher had us all sit on the floor around the tv and said we would be watching the first episode of a brand new curious george cartoon, they even passed out chips and Hawaiian punch to eat while we watched it. i dont remember the cartoon itself at all, but i do remember thinking how strange the whole situation was because nothing like that had ever happened and it never happened again. so if anyone finds some kind of record of it being test screened to a 5-k class in greenville SC, I was probably there lol

Oh, that's hilarious, I made a comment about the same thing! Contrary to what's stated here, it was only the food fight sequence towards the end that was done in 3D, not the whole pilot. However, you are otherwise correct. On a side note, someone really needs to update the Lost Media Wiki page for the unfinished episodes. The artbook revealed many model sheets and other design work for some of them (most notably The Trial), but they're never mentioned. More egregiously, Invader Dib is still listed there even though it's been disproven as a fan made rumor.
@@TheStarsTwilight lol my notifs totally suck can’t believe I just saw this XP but thx a lot for the info!! I should state that I don’t know much abt the lost pilot itself and had no idea only the food fight scene was made in 3d. And I have the art book, but I don’t remember seeing stuff like that in there :/ I’ll have to look again. Yeah I heard that there was like a full five seasons they had planned for the show but they only ended up getting to three cuz of price restraints. I only know a handful of the unfinished episodes but that’s another thing that should be researched a little more. And lastly (ik this is getting long) does anybody know more abt the concept art? Like concept designs and such. There’s a lot in the art book which im thankful for, but I’ve always wondered if there’s any more. Only asking this cuz the concept art of IZ is my livelihood lol
I wish that companies would follow Sonic SatAM's example and make the pilot an actual episode of the show, even if character designs, like Sally for example, weren't even finalized. Though for the Thomas Down the Mine pilot I can see that never being released due to the models being so different.
I didn't even know Robot Wars came back until I randomly saw it on TV a few years back. It's definitely overshadowed by BattleBots now, but I do enjoy BattleBots a lot more, so that doesn't really matter. Did you say Noggin was a predecessor to Nick Jr. In 2006? Because I remember watching David the Gnome on Nick Jr. _back in the 80's._ It wasn't its own channel, but it did exist as a programming block.
If go for it was released in 1990 or 1991 it probably would’ve been in 1990 because if nick studio opened in 1990 then go for it would had been one of the first things that would be aired.

I think that the Family Guy unaired pilot was made around 1998, because in 1999 the design of the Griffin Family has been already made. You can see arts made by Seth in 1998 and they are in their final design.
Yeah
27:10 here comes me and my friends
thank you for letting me know that the bear in the big blue house pilot was found, because ive been very invested in the search but i never saw that it was found 🤯
Hey man, great content, I really like this format of video and lost media! Hope your sub count grows, seems like you really deserve it!
The danger mouse one I believe the original voice actor for DM got a different job, or died, so they had to replace him. They also reworked his character so he fit more with the slightly bumbling hero instead of the ultra competent character that fit the previous voice actor.
24:42 Thanks for doing that repeatedly, it sounded like I was watching porn.
In a background listener, thank you for the recognition o7
ITV also gave the world shows like Pop/ (whatever country you live in) Idol, X Factor, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Mr Bean and Downton Abbey.
And probably made most of the British remakes of US shows that I know of.
AN HOUR LONG SEWER REVIEWER VIDEO LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO
wait, i think i might have seen that curious george pilot at school. i have a vague memory from 5-k of a man i had never seen before wheeling a tv into the classroom, the teacher had us all sit on the floor around the tv and said we would be watching the first episode of a brand new curious george cartoon, they even passed out chips and Hawaiian punch to eat while we watched it. i dont remember the cartoon itself at all, but i do remember thinking how strange the whole situation was because nothing like that had ever happened and it never happened again. so if anyone finds some kind of record of it being test screened to a 5-k class in greenville SC, I was probably there lol
I used to watch Justin Time and was hooked as a child. I watched it in Spanish and I was really surprised that olive and squidgy are his imaginary friends and that’s what made it sad!!
I loved how his name fit in English and Spanish (Justin time = Justo en Tiempo)
24:42 I love how he said "OOAAAHH!!" XD
And the Thomas pilot script just leaked.
HOORAY
I'm surprised you know of Card Sharks! My mom won a car on there in the first running of the show. I think she sold it because...taxes :')
Pilots can feel so alien, at times. You ever watched the House, M.D. Pilot compared to the rest of the show?
I just found out this was posted before some of these got found.
The Thomas ‘down the mine’ pilots production notes and scripts were just found.
Let's do this chaps!!!!
I’d love to see the family guy pilot in full before I die, it’s so mysterious and intriguing ever since I’ve heard about it.
Hey, I thought I’d mention a lost pilot that wasn’t covered in this vid. If it was mentioned, and I just missed it, make sure to tell me! Thx.
But the pilot I’m talking about is the lost 3d pilot for the Nickelodeon show, Invader Zim. If u r a fan of Invader Zim, (ur amazing I love u), then you prob know there’s already a full 13 min pilot already. But there was a scrapped 3d pilot for this show that has images circulating around the internet that I’ve seen.
Thx 4 reading lol
Has anyone asked Jhonen about it?
@@PiroKUSS uh not that I know of, it depends. I don’t even know who or how the images got leaked online. But I have tried speaking to him thru Twitter.
@@TheStarsTwilight lol my notifs totally suck can’t believe I just saw this XP
but thx a lot for the info!! I should state that I don’t know much abt the lost pilot itself and had no idea only the food fight scene was made in 3d.
But yeah, I’m kinda surprised it hasn’t gotten as much recognition in the lost media community. And being in the IZ fandom, nobody really talks abt it there either.
I just found it interesting that Robot Wars tried to make a grand return like BattleBots did, only to, from what I've seen, seemingly fail.
I saw a animated one of Woody as a villain the video is called "toy story - early test animation"
good job sewerreviewer
Good video bro, but please raise the volume a bit, I had my pc volume all the way up and could barely hear you man! Still a great vid
His wife got so lucky with Chris lol
At 41:44 did you steal that sound from list25???
All the audio featured in the video is from the RUclips audio library. Everything there is either Creative Commons or specifically licensed for RUclips and monetized content.
0:56 He knows what’s up
1999 Unaired Nickelodeon pilot of The Proud Family (Before Disney) was partially found!
Well at least with handy Manny we have that funny video where he has a lightsaber fight with the backyardigans
What’s the little song that plays at 13:56 while introducing the Sea level layer?? It gave me a jump scare bc I’ve only ever heard it used during Schlager Lucas”s videos
13:59 what song is that?
just want to say, i loved the Minecraft gameplay on the background, i normally use these types of long videos to sleep but lately they are not being enough to keep my attention span, but with the Minecraft gameplay when i got slightly disinterested i would just watch the minecraft then next topic im alreading paying attention to the actual content
What mod(s) did you use for that mc world?
There is a pilot episode thats never released in high quality and its entirety and it was MST3K's The Green Slime.
this is going to be amazing
Don't know if I'm remembering this correctly but there was a curious George cd that could play games on the TV or on computer and that's where the donut image came from
The down mine pilot is something I would love to see 1:00:56 Gordon’s pilot model looks weird
is the background footage tekkit?
Nah Tekkit has WAY more mods lol. It was a combination of IndustrialCraft, Galacticraft, and some others that my friends and I would use for a server.
Despite not seeing Coconut Fred’s Pilot here (i have an unhealthy obsession for the guy) this is still a pretty good iceberg
For Wabbit, I think the design change was that Bugs doesn't have his buck teeth but I could be wrong...
It was cool to see the likes go from 999 to 1k 😎 good job on the video it was entertaining and I’m proud to be the 1k like lol
It's a bummer of how you didn't mention the Ni Hao, Kai-Lan pilots. (aka Downward Doghouse.)
Some pilot episodes can be discarded after being made into a full series which makes it lost media
Man, I didn't know that there were this many shows about airplanes
I loved Super Why when I was a kid it was my favorite on PBS kids
About "The Price Is Right", the original format ran in the late '50s and was hosted by Bill Cullen. That's why the '70s version was "New".
The "The New Price in Rights" was the name of a syndicated version from 94, hosted by Doug Davidson.
55:43 Fifa, NBA 2K, etc.
I’m a simple woman. I see me and my friends in thumbnail, I click.
the blue umizumi was my first crush and that squid haunted me
I'm creating a cartoon. It's called, Forgotten Tales! It's about these forgotten and obscure characters that go on wacky and crazy adventures.
The Super Why Pilot was found! 🎉🎉
Including clone high in the thumbnail got me to watch
For me it was Thomas the Tank Engine
camp nick might be the og concept for Camp Orange too, or a difrent show that i remeber seeing on youtube...
also that less than zero one sounds like a movie i watched with robert downey jr idk if it's the same story exactly but the movie is called less than zero so that might be what happened to the pilot
Holy crap team Umizoomi was MY CHILDHOOD
I have the plushies still lmao
I used to have a geo plush but I lost it
Did you say Noggin was a predecessor to Nick Jr. In 2006? Because I remember watching David the Gnome on Nick Jr. _back in the 80's._ It wasn't its own channel, but it did exist as a programming block.
What is the Modpack you're playing?
dumb question, what modpack is being played??
The theme you used for shallow waters' intro is so similar to the Eddsworld intro.
Hey uhh, what is/are the modpack/mods in the background?
Buildcraft
Galacticraft
Industrialcraft
Minecraft Comes Alive
Just Enough Items
Railcraft
All on 1.12.2
@@SewerReviewer Epic, based choice of mods too.
Se pelo menos existisse um programa em algum desses canais que exibisse esses pilotos, boa parte das mídias não estariam perdidas
cartoon network does that!! they showcase all of their pilots publicly
@@sonja3993 verdade, não atoa não se vê todo dia um piloto perdido da CN
If go for it was released in 1990 or 1991 it probably would’ve been in 1990 because if nick studio opened in 1990 then go for it would had been one of the first things that would be aired.
I am reading at that point.
Why is there an iceberg chart? I wanted to see just the Minecraft gameplay
Okay, at first it was a joke but while I was watching I became genuinely curious about the minecraft gameplay
