- So what is the best way to fault find on a guitar pedal I hear you ask? An audio probe, of course.
In this video, I show you how to build and implement an audio probe.
please find links to some of the items used. I don't get any sort of affiliate payment from them what so ever.

Legend. Love your videos Joe.
My audio probe is much worse than yours. I just use crocodile clips onto a guitar cable for mine and use one end of the cap to probe the circuit.
Thank you mate I really appreciate the kind words.
I bet your probe has lasted longer than mine 🤣
I thankfully don't need to use it much tbh. Usually after I've busted it out and probed the circuit for a bit I realise I forgot to put an opamp in the socket or have put a transistor in back to front. 🤣
Ha ha ha I've literally done the same countless times.
Dear Joe age 5 - thanks for your video. This has come at a pivotal time as I have just built a Rangy with no output. Hopefully I can de-bug it now if I can work out the audio flow from the capacitor 😂

Awesome, I'm so glad you're getting some value from it mate. I would absolutely love to hear how you get on.
Can I ask what your collector voltage is and what transistor you're using? Maybe I can help.
@@hellosailoreffectsofficial not sure, it was bloody working when I sent it out to the dude I have made it for. I’m on holiday at moment so won’t be able to de-bug till I return. It’s an NPN build mullard Ac176 and I suspect maybe the wrong polarity cable has been used on power up or something has been knocked in transit. It’s working fine in bypass so that at least rules out the switch.
@ac30helix44 Yeah mate that's exactly where I would start too. Awesome well I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on.
I need 2 make this! How much do the stuff cost?
I have added some links to parts in the description mate.
I would love to see what you build.
