​@hellosailoreffectsofficial with great difficulty 😂😂😂 I had to move up to the next enclosure size, and use top mounted jacks. Saying that, the latest iteration is the closest I've gotten to the full Klon - it has the clean blend gain control, 18v for the tone section, and a really smooth gain sweep, but it does lack some of the charm of the older ones which were more Klon 'inspired' than just Klones. Maybe now's the time for a throwback batch of these V1 Horse Whisperers? 🤔

@jsaeffects I love that you've gone all out mate! What you need is the latest version and the original version in a massive dual pedal! I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

​@hellosailoreffectsofficial that would need to be a massive enclosure, and A LOT of J201's! 😂 I dug out the original vero layout, and it turns out it was created 22nd July 2018, so it feels I would be remiss if I didn't make some as a 6th anniversary edition, as I missed the 5th anniversary 😉

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial not sure, it was bloody working when I sent it out to the dude I have made it for. I’m on holiday at moment so won’t be able to de-bug till I return. It’s an NPN build mullard Ac176 and I suspect maybe the wrong polarity cable has been used on power up or something has been knocked in transit. It’s working fine in bypass so that at least rules out the switch.

@user-so9sb9dr5e Hello mate. I'm very sorry you feel like this. Both of my grandfather's served in the Royal Navy and their farthers before them. I come from a military family. All of my uncles and great uncles have served and even then, most of them in the Navy. I have served 22 years for my country. I have missed my kids growing up, I have missed birthdays/Christmas's, and I have been in many situations way more serious than the ones I discuss here. I have earned the right to speak. Believe me when I tell you that humour is how we cope in the military.

I think Joe has earned the right to say what he wants after 22 years and has earned the rank of Chief ! PTSD can come on at anytime and maybe Joe will get it but he still wouldnt be ashamed or regret this video !

@MuscleCarLover Agreed mate, I have never owned a vintage guitar with a sanded neck. The pickguard came from Mojoaxe. It's definitely darker than I would like.

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial Yeah, a lot of the "cheaper" relic jobs are very...not good. Yours is definitely a lot more believable. Did you happen to put bronze into the gold finish?

@MuscleCarLover Thank you, I really appreciate that, especially as i am a complete novice when it comes to ageing guitars. Im sure my life story video that goes live today will highlight just how novice i actually am ha! The paint came from Manchester Guitar Tech and he uses the same bronze flakes as Gibson did in the 50s.

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial Niiiiiiice, it'll green over nicely then. And yeah, the trick to a realistic looking relic is definitely in using "tools" that would give an authentic mark. You definitely gave that a vibe of a rocker who wore it nice and low. I also like that you didn't go overboard, it looks like it was taken care of, but still used a good bit

maybe something with a lot of headroom, like a hiwatt, would be better suited to the task

@lilymakesnoise The only other amps I have is a Victory V40 and a Trainwreck Rocket clone I built myself. I really need something with higher headroom for this sort of thing.

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial Those amps are excellent for clean and low-gain crunchy tones in general. If i was a chickin pickin nashville guy i would have a wall of em. Hell, with the right pedal setup you could probably get early Mesa style tones ( i.e. MK1-mk2) from it. For the purposes of high-gain demo vids though, 6505 combos and heads can still be had for sub 1k. It's not that radically different from the coveted 5150 3 circuit, and like rectos and jcm's, it's a common reference point for most of us metal guys. Of course, since it is just a SLO clone, you can get a usable fendery/marshally ( lets be honest, nearly everything, including the legendary plexi and jm45 is a modded fender at some level) kinda clean and crunch tone from it

@@TheLotusEater725 I've always thought I might build something like an SLO 50. Maybe this will give me the kick to do it. Low gain, cleaner tones is where I live really.
