The lady who escorted them on and off wasn't that into her role as a creepy hotel employee. When I went we had this really cool guy who did an awesome job of giving instructions and being creepy. It added to the thrill of getting on the ride and matched the theme of the hotel. When the doors were closing he made this really creepy grin that gave us the creeps! It was amazing!

Went on GOG version today for the first time today. Cried. Was extremely bittersweet to see how they changed it because the last time I rode it was this. Miss this version dearly and very much hope to see Florida's one day.
God. I still remember the first (and only time) I ever went on that ride. It was at the Anaheim location, during the Halloween event. I'm terrified of heights, absolutely terrified, but my sisters convinced me to go it with them and their friends. When I got on and felt the ride go backwards, all I kept thinking was "oh god, I've made a huge mistake." I think we still have the pictures of it, but all I know is that the disney worker must've seen how absolutely terrified I was or maybe my face went pale, because he immediately rushed me to sit down and got me a water bottle, asking if I was okay and if I needed any medical attention. I think I said something to the effect of "no, but now I know to never go on this ride again" (of course I said that while laughing). Still, even after all these years, I wish I had gone again, to experience it once last time. Oh well. Thanks for posting the video. It reminded me of how amazing it was.
If there's one thing I'm going to miss about this version that's not in the Florida version is the "Wave goodbye to the real world...." sequence. That has always been my favorite part of this ride. 😭😭😪
Don't like the trend Disney now has of converting old rides into the latest blockbuster rides. With all the money they rake in they can afford to build something new. How cheap.
You wouldn't know the first thing about being a real fan. Walt was the parks biggest critic. To say I should just agree with everything the huge corporation says to appease shills like you is ridiculous. There are many things in the park I do enjoy, so please stop talking like you know me.
My 13 year old misses this ride so freaking much Tower of terror will be in her heart forever she was 6 when we went and was 12 hen we just barley went not going to lie she loved guardians of the galaxy but it wasn’t as fun for her. She loves watching all these tower of terror videos just so she can relive all those memories all over again.
The update they made to the ride at the Paris tower makes the guardians ride sequence redundant. It bounces now too and starts dropping you from the beginning of the ride. I prefer Paris’s ride sequence over the Florida one now. Sad to see what could’ve been had the California one stayed.
MrDOCTORDERPY The ride is gone as we know it. Gone are the feelings and originality. It is disappearing, but we're getting a new Marvel attraction in the process. If this new overlay was temporary, i'd agree with you. But sadly it's quite literally evicting the attraction.
My heart aches the loss of this ride. Don’t get me wrong I love guardians but it will never beat tower for me personally. I loved walking away from the parks and seeing tower of terror glow in the distance. So much nostalgia. I miss this ride…
Agreed! Its not just this attraction either, it seems people can't STFU on any of the attractions, including the ones that have an audio track running to carry the storyline along. I'm sure over half the people have no clue what the story is about because they're too busy listening to their own voices.
People are really bad about talking at the Haunted Mansion. You can't even hear the ghosthost talking in the stretching room. I feel sorry for people that are at the ride for the 1st time and they can't enjoy the ride because people are talking the whole time.
Do you have no friends or something? It's a ride, not a god damn movie theater or library. Ever notice how people scream on rides? It's almost like you're allowed to make as much noise as you want. If you genuinely think the point of a ride is the "storytelling" ... it's just not. Rides are rides because they're fun and thrilling, not because of a 30 second story (which if you think that's a "story-line" you need to go back to 1st grade because that's the average intelligence you'll see with that same mindset).

I just can't believe that the Disney California Adventure version of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror had been closed down in January of 2017 to be replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout!. I feel bad that many people who reside in California won't be able to enjoy it anymore and have to go all the way to Florida to ride the Disney Hollywood Studios version. It's not like they were getting bored with the Disney California Adventure version and wanted it to be replaced by something else. The people who runs the Disneyland Resort could've still had Avengers Campus replace A Bug's Land and let The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror remain operating to this day. If you want my opinion, it just seemed like a complete waste of time and good money to have the Disney California Adventure version of the ride closed down to be replaced by something else. I hope the Disney Hollywood Studios version of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror won't ever be closed down to be replaced by something else as well. Before the Disney California Adventure version had been opened on May 5th of 2004, the exterior and interior should've also been built to look like the Disney Hollywood Studios version too. I just like the exterior and interior of that one better.
I really hate how Disney is going to take down an attraction loads of people enjoy and replace it with a blockbuster that will only remain a blockbuster for so long. And , from the information I've gained about the new attraction, it's going to be cheap and very shabby compared to this. Won't happen! Florida's is a much better ride experience because the elevator moves both vertically AND horizontally. PLUS, Florida's fit's in much better with the old time Hollywood environment that already exists on Sunset BLVD at DHS.
I don't think they would close they original tower. Not for a while at least. The California version does move horizontally.. but just barely. It is also quite a bit shorter than WDW's. I personally love how the Disney World tower is placed in the park. You can see it from the moment you are at the gates of the park and in order to get to it you have to walk all the way down Sunset Blvd as it looms over you. Also they are closing Ellen's Universe of Energy ride at WDW to create a Guardians of the Galaxy ride so I think we are safe for a while. Just my own personal opinion though. :)

No, the Hollywood tower hotel in Paris is better than your crappy breakout mission. The mechanics and history of the new dimension in Paris, is better than the one the guards destroyed your tower
Good. Because the only thing I will regret, is that I never been on the twilight zone version. Never been on that ride before because I'm too chicken to try the tower of terror years ago.
At least maybe this time, unlike the Twilight Zone version which was scary. Maybe "Guardians" won't be so scary. Which means i may have the courage to try that version of the ride one more time.
The whole preshow is either subtitled to English or fully in English, and you can find the english version of the ride audio on RUclips to figue out what it says (or try to understand in this video lol)

it'll be the same elevator drop ride but they are just putting in a guardians of the galaxy story.
Good. Because the only thing I will regret, is that I never been on the twilight zone version. Never been on that ride before because I'm too chicken to try the tower of terror years ago.
But i don't know French though do i? It won't be the same without at least English lol.
This was the start of the death of this park when they closed it
As much as I hate this ride do to the fear of large drops and falling. Im actually going to miss the Twilight Zone theme. Im going to suck it up and ride it for the second and final time when I go. I need to conquer it.
Rest in peace tower of terror :(
im dying and crying
god I really cant believe they're destroying their best, most iconic ride. who looked at it and thought yes this is perfect for a gotg ride.... how will it work. theres no building like this in gotg its all space
I went on this today. :)
The hollywood tower hotel ride changes into guardians of the galaxy mission breakout ride at disney california adventure park
That sucks about Tower Of Terror changing, it’s my first favorite ride Out of all the Disneyland rides.
I wonder if they'll sell parts of the ride
id LOVE to get a piece of it. probably not tho :(
They just changed the theme
I remember when I went on this with my sister when she was 4 - 6 years old. she was flying and my mom was screaming the whole time lol
the one in Florida is scary in 8 and I almost cried on that thing
Still open at Hollywood Studios
It's weird that this version of tower of terror was rethemed even though I only rode the Florida version
I went on that ride with my mom, dad, brother and sister
Me watching videos of all the rides but not a small world trying not to cry 👁👄👁
RIP Tower of Terror 😭
I’m still sad I never really go to ride tower of terror at Disneyland but I love mission break out, I just wanted to experience the ride 😭 and the spookiness, my mom wouldn’t let me go on the ride cuz I was too little to her but my older sister and her friends would go 😭 we’d be outside waiting on the bench at night for them
i was on this today the scafolding covers really do not look bad at all but they turned it up alot when the elevator went to the hall way scene it over leveled and releved instead of going up when the drops start it went down and hard
Please try the tower of terror in Tokyo DisneySea,
