I have loved this band since I was a teenager in the 70s and I'm so totally embarrassed to be among the way too many people who took them for granted and never really appreciated the amazing talent of their musicianship and contribution to the art. My husband has been and still is a working musician (keyboardist) in cover bands since the 70s and recently realized he has never covered a Three Dog Night song. I've been an avid fan of cover bands my whole life and can't remember ever hearing a local band in our area (NYC suburbs) cover these songs. And neither of us ever thought about until recently. He's determined to change that, starting with this song. This music needs to live on....
I would definitely come see your husband's band if they covered 3 Dog Night. No one sings 3 DN so it would be a pleasure to hear the great songs and harmonies.
My husband is a lead guitarist. He has been in 1 band that played this in over 20 years of different bands (He was in the army and we had to move quite bit.
Since back in the seventies. This may be first album I ever heard other than Andy Williams and Perry Como. Don't get me wrong. Those two other guys are great too. Three Dog Night is timeless.
I had every single TDN album they released. I loved those guys! They were all vinyl and I literally wore out the record because I played it so many times. I also loved the Beatles, Stones, CCR and all the rest. But 3 Dog Night really had great harmonies, instruments and arrangements.
I was around 19 I joined the Three Dog Night fan club. Cory Wells was my favorite… So I had to join the Corey Wells fan club. He was my favorite. Rest in paradise Cory.❤
My mate, who is about 9 years older introduced me to this song, whilst we were shit jamming, love it. He also introduced me to many bands I never knew existed. It's great to be introduced to music that you don't even know about.
Three Dog Night was the head liner for a concert I saw in 1970, Edgar Winter was the band that opened for Three Dog Night, I was 13 years old when I went to my first concert. Today I still pull out my Three Dog Night albums to listen to them. Awesome group. It does not get any better than listening to 60s and 70s rock.
Even David Bowie covered this band!! I remember buying the 45 Mama Told Me Not To Come. Bought the best of Golden Biscuits album. Tough to pick my favorite. Liar might be my top choice!! And yes I've been to Oklahoma!! 😃😃😃
I recall the guitar player. I recognize him through the years now on his face. No doubt I stood before him in the audience ca. 1970???something in Binghamton NY It was a fun band with memorable songs
This is when they were 2 Dog Night which they were since Chuck Negron was booted out sometime in the mid 1980s. I saw that edition live and they did a good job considering they were missing one of their iconic lead voices. With Cory Wells death, it's never say die for Three Dog Night as a commercially viable commodity, considering only Danny Hutton is left from the original three. So for live events, Danny has others filling in the harmonies. So it's now One Dog Night. You got to hand it to guitar player Michael Allsup who was their original guitarist and has been with them, with absences from time to time, since then.
@@valentina13izationMy impression it was mucho drug intake and missed appearances. Chuck himself says drug intake was a problem for the others too but they may not have missed appearances like Chuck did.
It's worth being older now, to have been young then.
cool thing to say man.
Amen to that!
Agreed, well said. Somehow I feel better about being older.
Amen!
Simpler Time's I Miss them, I'll do my best to keep the Classics Alive.Everyones Help Lol Thank you all.👍🎵🎶💯🤗
3 Dog Night, belongs in the Rock and roll hall of fame!
One of the GREATEST bands of ALL times.
Maybe the best
I have loved this group since before I had a driver’s license! Voices and music wonderful!

Well Karen, I'm listening to this because my band is talking about playing it, when we do, if we do, I'll share with you and the better half!
Cheers!

Love you Cory. RIP. Heaven must have one hell of a band.

Michael Allsup is an absolutely stellar guitarist. Talk about somebody who never gets their due - that guitar solo at 2:52 was unreal.
My guy. What year is this from? Not only is he still playing but he's still brilliant!
Wow

One of my favorite bands from high school

I believe the bass player, all the way to the right side, was in Paul Sheaffers band on Dave Letterman for years.
I was in both places. Highway was shut down in El Reno, OK because of snow and ice. Very nice people. Rambla in Barcelona is the best.
Such an incredibly tight band and the very best singers. They truly belong in the music HOF.
RIP peace brother....you did good

Was blessed to see them Live a few months before Cory left us... he and both Danny had their distinctive voices...
I was lucky enough to see them at the State Fair in Michigan about 20 years ago... was just like I remember..❤
I have always loved this song love listening to it when I'm driving
I was born in Oklahoma 70 years ago. I totally relate to this song by Hoyt Axton. I call Oklahoma the land of my people.
I have absolutely loved this band since the early 70s 😎🎸🎶❤✌
Me too! My only favorite rock band of the 70s and always will be.....Rest in peace, Cory Wells! See you in heaven.

I saw them in West Palm Beach back in 74. I can still see them like it was yesterday. They were great showmen. Was 18 and it was my first concert.
Chuck was my 70s crush! Now I realize it should have been Corey!! What a voice!
Always sweet tea in the ice box. Outstanding.
I love Elvis singing this also

Miss Corey. We got to see Three Dog Night with Corey and Danny a few times. They are so down to earth.
Pena que faltou o Negron!...👀👀👂
That was awesome all the way around from the singing to the playing...
No one can do it like the original. My first favorite song was by 3 Dog Night ❤️❤️❤️

Great to see the old guys still belting it out!
Always loved that song. Nostalgia baby.
Used to see them on a regular basis in So Cal, Pasadena Civic Auditorium back in the early seventies, Oh hell I'll be 70 this year!
Okie dock. Sweet tea in the fridge.

Michael Allsup is underrated. He was Born in Oklahoma, not Arizona.
...what does it matter ?
(somebody had to do it!)
😊
This band was the early seventies.
Love the Beatles Day Tripper chords they threw in early on. Just cool.
How are these guys not in the Rock n Roll HOF? So many hits.....should have been in years ago......the HOF is a joke
Wow!!!
Just WOW!!!!!
Cory smiles and i do smile !!
Great band
Oh lord ----NO, NO, NO ......Sad!
Never been to Oklahoma but I went to Barcelona. OK with me.
My old man, was born in Oklahoma
Rambla goes all the way to sea.
Avoiding Oklahoma
& Arizona
From Minnesota
But I really don't remember
Still hoping for Spain
When I get my $ saved
Or maybe NY😂
I guess this would be Two Dog night, only two out of the three great vocalists.
Barcelo rambla. Went into last chance church. Not too far, spooky.
Go to Barcelona via Ramblas, Santa Maria.
Was that the original lead guitarist who came out front+ center?
He should've been showcased, allowed to stretch it out a lil
Michael Rand Allsup ... member since 1968, still w/ the band!
RIP CORY WELLS 🙏
Wonderful memories of that song..Put that 45 on to dress up for Midget Football.
