I agree, I think they should have kept Alison out of the show 💯. They should have just done flashbacks and given us what happened the night she disappeared. That way the girls can uncover the truth and they don’t have to worry about a redemption arch for her. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If they were worried about the real ending leaking, just film multiple and use the one that fits closest to all the plot twists they threw at us lol 😂🩷

I liked Emily and her Dad’s relationship more than her and Alison’s relationship. One is selfless/ protective love and the other is narcissistic manipulation people Shipped 🤫.

Agree with you completely on so many points! I don't think Paige is a great character at all but it does kinda annoy me how she is hated on more for dunking Emily under water, when Alison was forgiven for so much more and so much worse things including bullying Paige horrendously but people like to conveniently forget that. Alison was such a good mean girl and they should have kept it that way, not every character needs a redemption arc. Like you said, I don't think the writers really knew what to do with her once they brought her back, they just wanted to do it for the initial shock of the plot twist, so Alison became a lackluster character after a while especially since they were trying to make her seem nicer. I think they explored some good avenues like when Hanna had an identity crisis because of it or when Mona kinda built that army of people Alison had previously wronged against her, but they should have carried on with that and made it so those characters did not forgive her as easily. I honestly think the show was better when Alison was dead and we got to see her bitchy side in all the flashbacks as it made the mystery of who killed her and who A is more interesting. I think I would have been more okay with them bringing back Alison if they had kept her mean side or better yet made her A, like imagine how genius it would have been to find out right at the end that this whole time Alison had faked her death and had the whole town inc the liars going crazy trying to figure out who did it and why as well as torturing them as A at the same time. Honestly, the books did it better with the whole Alison/Courtney twin thing!

I agree with you so much. She was forgiven way too easily, while some other characters that did much less harm or almost the same things as Alison were criticized mercilessly, both in the show and among the fandom. They should've kept Alison as the biggest villain of the show. That was when Sasha shined the most, and I think that she would've also had the ability to pull the twin-plot off. I'm still super-pissed off that they gave us so many hints about her being A and her having a twin, and it didn't really lead anywhere. Go hard or go home, so to speak.
I know that the show made perfectly clear that there was the most bad blood and arguments between Spencer and Alison and that Alison seemed to be even scared of Spencer at times. However, I also was intrigued about the dynamic between Aria and Alison. Yes, it seemed like Aria would've had the least reasons to be bitter at Alison, but the tension and ominousness in many of their scenes left me wanting to know more. To me, it looked like Alison was threatened by Aria in a different way (it's no wonder they both are still my favorite A-candidates to this day).
Thank you so much for this great video.

Agree! It was boring to watch them try and make Alison a "nicer" character, it was always so much more interesting seeing her be so mean in flashbacks and understanding why someone might have wanted to kill her off. They should've kept her dead if they were not planning on making her A at all. It would've been fun to still try and figure out who killed her and why as well as the identity of A and if they were the same person or not.

Spencer was like Jenna with having her own personality but kissed Alison’s ring 💍 to get the Hastings popularity she wanted. I think after Ali came back Spencer should have stood up more too! 😎🔥

I do believe in forgiving just so you can move on with your life. To me forgiveness doesn’t always mean going back to being best friends with the person. Forgiveness can just mean not holding on to grudges or anger. I am someone who believes in forgiveness but that doesn’t necessarily mean I can forget what happened and go back to being friends again.

And Alison was just weird as fuck to me and controlling especially in S6, doing all that and pleading with her “victims” so they would forgive someone who abused them because they share the same blood is insane

I like the idea of someone actually killing Alison after it's revealed that she's alive because it would have given us the suspense that PLL was known for. Like we could have still had Sasha be Alison in flashbacks as the girls try to figure out who killed her once she came back. Since you're right Alison had so many enemies that anyone could have had a motive to kill her and Sasha truly thrived as mean Alison so that would have been cool to see that Alison didn't change during her time away and she was truly a mean girl at heart. I like when shows have a mean character/villain but only when they know that they're mean and Alison embraced being mean so it made her fun to watch. (I don't like Alison but she was entertaining)

In my opinion, they should have kept Alison a villain because she worked SO much better that way! I hate how Seasons 3 to 7 drastically diverge from the books! The twin storyline should have been in the show! Maybe not written the exact same way as in the books, though! Sara Shepard has said that she had initially planned on having both Alison and Courtney be alive in the books and that Alison's body was never supposed to be found at the end of Book 1. And I wholeheartedly believe that the producers of the show should have taken that route because there is SO MUCH potential!
It could have gone like this :
The real Alison is seeking revenge on Courtney for taking over her life. Courtney is out there and Alison knows that she's not too far and is waiting for an opportunity to show herself. But Courtney is too afraid that Alison will try to kill her again, so she stays hiding. So, in order to lure her, Alison takes over the 'A' game after Mona (whom she talked to at the Radley but Mona thought she was hallucinating Alison) and starts targeting Courtney's friends (the Liars) with the help of a few people (notably her boyfriend Nick Maxwell and two others, whose identities would be revealed later in the show). But they would do it more ruthlessly than Mona did, as Alison knows that Courtney truly cares about her friends because she managed to get a hold of her diary from when she was living as Alison (this would also explain how she knows so much about the Liars).
But, seeing that Courtney still doesn't show herself, she decides to go a step further : she shows herself to the Liars and partially reveals the truth to them. At this point, the audience doesn't know it's the real Alison. She tells them that she had to run away because her jealous and conniving twin sister Courtney tried to kill her. The Liars hesitate at first but decide that they can trust her because she manages to gain their trust thanks to the informations she got about them from Courtney's diary and they're convinced it's really their friend. They are hesitant to forgive her but try their best because they think she's been through a lot. So for some time, she befriends them and becomes part of the group while 'A' is still targeting them. 'A' attacks Alison multiple times but she always manages to survive because the Liars protect her. They're convinced that Courtney is 'A'.
But then at some point, the Liars start to have doubts about Alison. She's often with them whenever 'A' attacks her and some things she say start to be inconsistent with the story she told them. She is also often seen interacting with Naomi Ziegler and Riley Wolf, who were the real Ali's friends from the time before Courtney took over her life but they don't think much of it. Mona, who seeks to redeem herself, starts investigating, has more presence in the show and pretty much becomes the Sixth Liar. Then there would be a climactic moment where Courtney finally comes back for real because she decides it's time for her to actually save her friends and put an end to all of this. There's a confrontation where the girls find out that it was never THEIR 'Ali' that was with them the whole time and that Courtney was never 'A' and a few times, when they thought it was 'A' that "attacked" Alison, it was actually Courtney trying to protect her friends. A fight happens, the real Alison tries to kill the girls but fails and runs away. Courtney takes time to explain her whole story to her friends and they now know that SHE is 'their' Alison. She sort of takes back her rightful place amongst them.
The town still doesn't know that Alison has a twin, so Courtney has to live as Alison again. The real one is still out there, so they still have to be weary, as they know that the 'A' game is going to be even more gruesome and dangerous now that the truth has been revealed and Alison is more enraged and unhinged than ever. That would be when the show takes on a more "slasher" tone because Alison is a ruthless serial killer (if they wanted to make a slasher version of PLL, they just had to take inspiration from the books instead of doing PLL : Original Sin). So, stuff happens, they track Ali down with the help of Mona, a few characters die at the hands of the real Ali until the very final confrontation between Alison and Courtney and more truth is revealed.
It's revealed that there is indeed A-Team and Naomi Ziegler and Riley Wolf, along with Nick Maxwell, are a part of it. They knew the truth all along but Alison managed to manipulate them into helping her. They have the most climactic fight, the Liars (including Mona) take down the A-Team while Courtney is fighting against Ali. And finally, Courtney manages to kill Alison. As she stabs her twin sister, she tells her this : "You never deserved this life, anyway. There can only be one of us and you have caused enough damage." (Which would sort of bring the audience back to the line "Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead" from the intro song.)
The real Alison finally dies and Courtney is redeemed. Nobody knows about the twins. In the final moments of the show, the Liars agree to keep this ultimate secret and Courtney is now the only Alison DiLaurentis. This moment would truly wrap the whole with this ultimate "Pretty Little Liars" moment. They bury Ali's body somewhere no one will find her. The girls go their separate ways but stay in touch with each other. So yeah, that's the version I came up with. No transphobic villain reveal, no Mary Drake, no Bethany Young, no dollhouse (don't get me wrong, I liked it but let's be honest, it was a bit nonsensical) and NO RANDOM BRITISH TWIN FOR SPENCER!!!!!!!!!

To be completely honest, if a fan can accept Mona reconciliation then I don’t wanna hear any complaints from them about Ali reconciliation

Alison’s behavior post dollhouse should’ve made them drop Alison and keep Mona as the 5th liar. They literally could’ve given her the dunhill plotline and had her be the one to marry Mike in the finale.
