My God, bursting with love (as always) for Jonesie... my mentor and a beautiful light who guided me through the chaos of life for 5 decades. When I was 8-yrs-old I clung to my 'Tiger Beat' magazine featuring the brilliant redhead with crazy teeth. 50 years later I'm watching this concert on RUclips and crying over how much love and appreciate this phenomenonal person who touched my soul to its depths.

An inspired performance; David was IN THE MOOD, I'll tell ya. My God, he looked so good, so happy, so relaxed, so jazzed. I saw him about six or so weeks before this performance, at the Wiltern Theatre in L.A. Best Bowie concert ever - and I went to nine of them between '74 and '04. How lucky were we to have seen this God of a Man, this master, this living legend perform before our very eyes. Gives me goosebumps. EXCELLENT video, btw. Thanks SO MUCH, markit aneight! I really appreciate it.

Wow! Wow! Sunday is a beauty and closing out with Slicky's beaut guitar solo morphing into Heathen's otherworldly guitar intro from Gerry.
The whole of Heathen with its fiery visual backdrop is a real trip. Bowie mixed the hits, the alternative and the transcendental at his Reality supernova tour, we are so lucky he gave us this tour.
I even saw the band marvel at how he would clean up the coffee area/kitchen onboard the tour bus, and possibly singing something like Sadie The Cleaning Lady.
The greatest of all artists in so many ways, just his kind nature and sense of humour alone will never be forgotten.

Wow!! I could of met him maybe in 78 after the incredible show i witnessed. Back at his hotel on a beachfront hotel in Australasia, he was willing to talk to any wide-eyed fans in the House Bar.
As word spread, we arrived just as security put up screens and blocked anyone else from entering. I was just 1 minute from meeting him in a high wired state from witnessing the show up close.
How did you manage to get that rare chance to meet and talk? Were you working in a hotel maybe?

At last... 38.51..Earl Slick's guitar solo on Sunday. Wow!!
Ive searched.. And searched.. Trying to find a solo on Sunday from all the shows, trying to find one that could come close to the one on my official DVD of the Reality Tour shot in Dublin i think it is.
Ive been a lifetime fan, saw him first in 78, the magnificent Heroes/Isolar2 world tour.
Also saw him live on the 83 and 87 tours.
For Reality in 2003 i secured an upfront gold front row ticket as a special gift to me, cost about $200 back then. He was the greatest as a performer and he didnt disappoint on the Reality Tour, thanks for this!!

Oh Man! I wish I could go back to this concert! I don’t remember where I was in 2004 or what I was doing but I missed this Tour. To my eternal regret now. I can add another one to the pile. Damn it! This looks and sounds so good!
And look at Bowie! He had his Sh@t together as we used to say way back when. He called the Phillie crowd “Crazy MotherFokers”! He starts off with two of my favorites Rebel Rebel and Hang on to yourself which sounds like a New Wave song. He predated New Wave by Six Years. God, he is in good form here! Now I see what we have all lost! He was like Britain’s Elvis! He was on that High level. An Icon and Idol to Millions! Just like Elvis was a part of American culture who shook the world with his hip shake. Bowie was a critical part of British culture and the World as well. He was ingrained in their culture and national psyche! A Modern Musical Hipster, Trickster and Chameleon. A Shape Shifter!
There are Bands that based their entire sound off of one Bowie record. Some sound like the Ziggy period, some like the Low period and onward. He was that influential!
Bowie liked the Pixies 🧚‍♀️! Amazing that he does a cover here. If Bowie likes you, your doing something right! Because he was a trend setter!
That’s a high compliment to have Bowie cover your song. I heard him cover the Modern Lovers Song Pablo Picasso once too. I tell everyone to listen to the Modern Lovers album! It’s a classic and Bowie likes them too!
I must have been confused or clueless to miss this Tour! Thanks to whoever filmed this show and to whoever uploaded it. Now at least I can see and hear it! 😎🎸🔥💥⚡️
Bye Bowie 😭RIP- See you on the Astral Plane maybe some day!
We’re All going to Die some Day. Don’t you wonder why it’s that way? Seems like you just come out and play and then you had to go away.

I've learned a lot these past few months listening to DB.
I'm not so afraid of death. His interviews and music touched on death a lot. Maybe he'll be the official greeter in heaven. Dont think he was a christian, but by God, he was searching and he followed his heart. He just faced death head-on. Such courage. Always trying to do the right thing. I never really cared much for him, that is, until recently. Can't get enough now! :-)

@@rosemarymills1671 yes, end of summer 2004 on a festival in Germany during his concert not far from Hamburg in Germany. A very severe heart attack and even more. A friend of mine was a nurse in the hospital back in the days where they saved his life. But he never fully recovered to do concerts anymore. She was a fan but did not tell anything about his illness because she was a pro. But she described him as a humble and friendly person.

Great comments on Bowie and this concert! Phenomenal stage presence. Didn't realize this show was so close to his leaving us but this concert has been a favorite of mine. • @dannymiles6503
      @dannymiles6503 3 месяца назад

@@Katy-ye1zrIm a lifetime fan and have been to a huge amount of shows. From all of those, its the incredible, legendary 1978 Heroes/Isolar tour show that still remains the greatest show i will ever see. I dont live in the US or Europe or i would of seen him 20 times at least.
I was blessed to see the 4 full world tours, 78 when i was 18, 1983, 87 and Reality 03. I deeply wish i saw his 96/97 shows, i feel they were as great as 78,if not greater. He was at an absolute peak then, it was ultimate Bowie.
Why and how for me, is his band, especially old Tin Machine bandmate guitarist Reeves Gabrels. He was pyrotechnic with a huge fiery sonic range, lifting those shows to unseen heights.
So, of course theres his Ziggy 72,3 shows, in fact the 74 shows too.
But follow the 78 and 96-97 shows, let them imprint into your mind and soul. Theres his 50th birthday show in NY with guests Lou Reed (a real fave too) Frank of The Pixies, Billy Corgan, Foo Fighters.
My other fave show is his 6,7 song set at the Phoenix Festival 1996.
      Its stunning sound and vision.
Some songs are Look Back In Anger, White Light White Heat( Lou/Velvets) Hallo Spaceboy and the most stunning live version of Moonage Daydream as his final song to live long in the minds of those present.
As the song is near its end theres a brief shot of the crowd, packed densely being drawn towards the power of the sound and vision.
He is wearing superb stage clothes, so is Reeves Gabrels, they look like they are from another world. As the final note blazes out, theres a massive roar that erupts and sadly cuts off too quick.
I love to pass on my thoughts and experiences with Bowie to fans searching for any thoughts. To talk about the 78 show, that was a hugely influential show that has never been far from my thoughts since.

As usual, he always makes subtle changes to every song. He just got bored otherwise and would do an altered version of a hit just to find something new to explore musically.
It’s obvious he disliked stagnation and wanted to constantly change.
He even said he wanted to sing his hits one last time and move on to new material.
But the public demanded the familiar hits that they know. Otherwise, they feel they didn’t get their money’s worth.
Bowie the Chameleon! That still describes him the best. The only constant is change! Ch Ch Ch Changes!
RIP Bowie- Thanks for the musical journey! It was worth the trip! What a musical ride he took us on.
With Space Oddity, we went to outer space even. With Ashes to Ashes, we got to meet Aliens! What more could you ask for?

I remember he came to my town in the late 60s and stayed in a street near to me while he performed in clubs and pubs. I heard he was kicked out of a working mans club and a pub when he dressed up in women’s clothes and wore make up. I don’t know how true it was but it sounds right. Then in 1972 when I was 9 I got the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from Mars. Then every album after that until ashes to ashes, big gap as didn’t like the new stuff and then Blackstar which was a return to his better artistic talent. It’s nice to hear the old stuff again.

It's a shame they didn't spend the money to do a professional video production(several cameras, soundboard , post production video editing etc) of this concert

Without sounding stupid but can anyone tell me what the two foot pedals on the floor beside is mic stand are for. I noticed him using them when he was singing Blue Jean. I thought maybe something like a guitar has but he wasn't playing anything. Just curious..
Also fantastic video!!!!! Thanks for uploading this!!

I do know that at least one of them was for controlling the reverb on his vocal. Maybe one was for intensity and the other was for time...?

Likely to be a voice processor to add extra volume or delay .... like in a big hall ... In doubt its pitch correction ... could be adding voice doubling or extra EQ (treble/ middle / bass) ... I agree ... I sing & record Bowie covers on YT to remain sane on earth.
