Loved it Robbie, taking all of May next year with my dog to tour Scotland, and, you have just made it so much easier. Thank you very much. Best wishes, Shaun.
Thanks Shaun have a great trip 👍
Looks amazing got your book for Christmas and the Wales one will def be going to do nc500 in 2023
Awesome little video. I’m heading over from Australia to the UK in a few weeks and have plans to do NC500. I’m super excited 😀
Wow that’ll be some trip! Hope you have a great time 👍
Great video Robbie, we really enjoyed it and hopefully will get to Scotland next year.
Thanks for watching all the best for your trip 👍
Great video - I really enjoyed it. I agree that all 11 of your 10 top picks are wonderful places to see. May I just put in a few additional "must sees" from the area where I live - Caithness. Whaligoe Steps at Ulbster; Duncansby Stacks near John O'Groats; Camster Cairns (and all the other neolithic sites) and the coastal footpath heading south from the Castle of Old Wick. All are magical places and well worth a visit.
Just bought your Nc500 book and map can't wait leaving Sunday really hope Royal Mail get it to me by then. Loved your video looking forward to visiting as many places as we can
Hi Peter, all being well this should be with you in todays post 👍
I've watched all your nc500 videos robbie there a great help. Just finishing planning my whole trip, me and my best mate using a lil clio and some tents for 11 days cant wait !
Thanks Matthew! Have a great trip 🤩
Great vid. We did the NC500 in May 2022 on our motorbikes absolutely loved it. We rode Applecross pass with about 10ft of visibility. The highlight though was Achmelvich beach where I proposed to my now future wife 😊
Sounds incredible and congratulations what a place to do it 🤩
Great video, Robbie; I have just ordered your book and subscribed.
That’s greatly appreciated. All the best 👍
Thank you Robbie you have helped us to decide to try the NC 500 I have ordered your book 👍👍
Thanks John you won’t regret it the NC500 is incredible 😀
I've just ordered your book as me and a few friends doing the NC500 in June. We will definitely be making these stops along the way
Thanks Sean have a wonderful trip 👍
Ordered the book and looking forward to using it when we start NC500 in September 👍👍
Thanks Stephen! A great time of the year to visit 👍
Fantastic list of places!! 👏👏
Thank you 🙏
Just done the NC on my scooter, magnificent scenery, particularly on the West Coast, no mention of Smoo Cave (near Durness) or the Whaligoe Steps ( 8miles south of Wick) nor Dunnet head ( most northernly point of Scotland, 10miles from John o Groats)..Beautiful scenery if you get the weather, great video showing great places 👌
Thanks Stevie what a trip!
As a keen traveller, I'd like to thank you for how useful and enjoyable watching your video was. Love the dog as well, woof.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
Great video keep it up mate
Thanks Joe 👍😀
Just back from completing the trip using Robbie’s book and you tube as our guide.
He’s bang on with his suggestions, we ran out of superlatives within the first few days
Thank you I’m glad you had a great trip 🤩👍
Great video abd agree with includion of my favourite spot on the West Coast of Scotland - Torridon. The drive down the north side of the loch is fab. It is also worth getting out and walking up into the mountains - there is a scenic path that takes you around Ben Alligin.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi my wife and I cycled over the Blelach na bah pass in November 22. Awesome way to view it. We stayed on the Kishorn Loch at the bottom. Great vlog
Thanks for watching 👍
Well done with the book! Great achievement 🙂
Thanks Michael! Appreciate your kind words. I hope it’s going to help a lot of people 🙏
You have sold the NC500 to me. I’ve ordered your book from Amazon and can’t wait to plan our trip for next year. Thank you
Thank you I hope you have a wonderful trip 🙏
Great video
Thank you 🙏
Ordered your book! watching all your videos made me do it. We'll be starting our adventure in about 7 weeks!
Haha thanks Sander that's much appreciated! We became good friends with a couple of Dutchy's in South America - you lot can't half drink!
@@robbieroams You're welcome! haha Dutchy's... they are everywhere. Not sure I'm proud of our drinking reputation, but than again, nothing wrong with a few drinks in good company.
Did the route in 2010 it was great because it was empty of traffic and wasn’t known then as the north west 500 it’s sadly busy now but still a great route
Your book arrived last week and I'm already impressed with the information enclosed. planning my trip for the NC500, thank you for creating such a fantastic book. Any advice/tips for a late September trip.
Thanks a lot I'm so glad you're impressed with it! I actually think late September is the perfect time to go - less busy, still a chance of good weather and the Autumnal colour will just be about to kick in. Tips wise, if you're camping - check to see when sites close for the winter - same for any attractions and restaurants. Other than that the book gives you everything else I think you'll need! Thanks again :D
@@robbieroams How can you miss out either Oldshoremore beach clachtoll bay or SANDWOOD BEACH a absolutely STUNNING BEAUTIFUL BAY???.🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Fantastic video and Im planning a petrolheads trip late September. Can I get a map too please if I order the book?
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Kyle es Que bridge.............Love it 😁😁
It's pronounced Kyle Sku... hence the comment above.
Great video, I'm doing part of the coastal 250 Balmoral castle, wiskey distillery and Drakulas Castle in Cruden Bay, on one of my days this video has literally massively helped me.
I'll be staying in Meigle and I wanted to see the Lochness, having looked at the map of all the locations featured, we are going to visit Golspie Burn water Falls 1st then lochness on the way back to Meigle.
I'm a massive petrol head are there any epic roads or passes on the way back????
We are driving up from Brighton to Meigle and staying there for 4 days.
It sounds like you’re in for a real treat! Most of the roads around there are amazing to be honest 👍
I’m doing it in may
Hello mate. Very good video and I’m chuffed you picked the waterfall as your number 1 place as that’s where I’m hoping to visit as a much see place while staying near Applecross in October. I take it it will be a bit of a drive but will be so worth it. Also hoping to get to some other places you’ve mentioned in other vids. Great stuff mate. If I order a book would it come before October ?? Thanks again
Hi Rob (good name by the way) - yes the book will take a few days if you live in the UK and a little longer outside the UK 👍
@@robbieroams yeah it’s an awesome name thank you. Lol. Ok so when I finish my stupid job I’ll look into when I get some time. Thanks mate.
@@robbieroams yeah it’s an awesome name thank you. Lol. Ok so when I finish my stupid job I’ll look into when I get some time. Thanks mate.
Just back from doing this. Was epic
Nice what was your favourite part?
Do you have any recommendations for where to rent an RV and a list of free pullover & park/sleep while in the RV
Hi Robbie, is your book available anywhere over there or only online? Heading over in 3 weeks. Julie (Australia )
I haven’t drove the bealach na bah, I only cycled it, beautiful weather, 1 hr 11 minutes tough , I was 57 so not to disappointed with my time.
That’s a great achievement 👍
Done this pass at the start of the year on a 125cc motorbike 🤦🏼♂️😂 it was so slow going up I had ample time to take in every inch of the mountains, maybe worth doing a video on places to stop over on the nc500
I did the NC500 last year with two ex-friends and because of them, I have some lovely pictures of wall paper, yep they managed to turn the NC500 to the great chase 500, I’m planning to re-do this again but on my own properly
what's the period ? season ?
i drove through torridon few days ago and saw the deer at the car park, biggest regret ever is i didnt stop and carried on, i wasnt even in a rush or anything. regret is killing me
Bought the book 😅😊
Thanks Paula 😀
Kylesku is a single word with the 'e' being silent, we don't have 'locks' in Scotland they are Lochs. Great video I've did the route many times. Well done with the book. I have subscribed.
Thanks for watching Marella that’s greatly appreciated!
What drone do you use please?
I use the Mavic Pro 2 👍
Got my veg at the ready lololol
Hi guys. We have booked a motor home hire from a company in Loch Ness. We only have a week and are looking for a hopeful mini version bevause I know we couldn’t do the whole 500 in a week. Can you help
You can do the whole route in a week! 5 days is the minimum I recommend 😃 you’ll be able to see most places too 👍 Have you checked out the itineraries on my website?
@@robbieroams that’s good news. I haven’t checked those yet but I certainly will next. Thank you.
Would you recommend a camper van or airbnbs with a 14 month old?
I’m yet to have a child so it’s a difficult one to answer 😂 Having a hotel/ Airbnb will give you more room at the evenings but you’ll also have to cart all the baby stuff in and out of the vehicle every night so it’s pros and cons really. Both are great options.
Do you get your route in with your book
Absolutely 🙏
I think it’s the North Atlantic at Achmelvich not the North Sea…
Can't see the link for your book
robbieroams.com/product/north-coast-500-guide-book-robbie-roams-nc500/ 🙏
Achmelvich beach facing the North Sea ....?
and you're a travel bod!
Ended the vid at no 10 .
😂👍
Just purchased a 2022 roller team motorhome which we will be handed over to us at the end of the month.
As it’s 7.45 metres long I think it will not be suitable for us to travel these routes which is a real shame.
Most of the routes will be fine - I think you will struggle on the Drumbeg circular route but other than that I wouldn’t foresee many issues 👍
@@robbieroams thank you
When did Ardmelvich beach move to the north sea. Get your facts right
Blimey 😂
Loch not lock. There are so many mistakes in this video that a fact stands our.
Some of your pronouncing was "interesting" ha ha. Kylesku is Kyle-sku rather than Kyle-esku. The others...well it is normal for "Southern people to copy what they hear on the "Media" ha ha. Interesting video reminding me what I miss. Time I returned to the Highlands ha ha.
Hi robbie, i am planning to take the nc500 next year in july. But I'm a little worried about the crowd of campers on the track. Can you recommend the nc500 in summer?
It’s true the NC500 is generally busier in the summer months but still completely worth it 👍
Too bad I did not see this video before my trip to Scotland...🛵🙋🇭🇷
