      You need to do this trip again but, as a vacation. Bring the wife and take a week or more and spend a day as every point of interest on the way

      Or the wrong side of the road for us Americans!! So looking forward to my Scotland vacation but must admit I'm a little nervous about driving on the left!😂

    Funny you mentioned getting lost. We do it on purpose because you see so much more of the real country and people.
    This brought back a lot of wonderful memories. What you did on a weekend took us a week and we wanted more.
    Scotland should be on everyone's bucket list whether you are of Scottish descent or not.

      Getting lost on purpose is great. I used to do it in the back roads at home when I started driving. Now I try to do it on foot. 🏃😂

    Wow. So absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing more of your beautiful country. Scotland has always been a bucket list place for me to hopefully see where my ancestors came from. But at this point im starting to feel like if I went i may never come back to the US. Such beautiful country and so much to see & experience

    Beautiful, beautiful video! Robert you have such an incredible eye and such a heartfelt compassion for your country and all of its beauty and you deliver it on a silver platter every time. I’m in awe of its beauty and the many different landscapes it has to offer let alone it’s incredible history.     YAY Robert filmed a "Drive" film. Beautiful scenery and lots of historical nuggets. We have "Robert's Rules" now we can add "Robert's History" too !!
    And not a moo cow in sight he he he. But we did get the odd sheep and the car park buck.

    Oh my...I had no idea such a road existed! My kind of road trip...but you can bet I wouldn't be in a hurry...that's too wonderful an adventure to rush. I doubt anywhere in Scotland is boring! My sister & I would have jumped up & down on that suspension bridge...be thankful we weren't there...😅

    It is very nice to see so many places I saw when my mom and I toured the Highlands in a tourbus, fond memories. We did see inside Dun Robin castle and Smoo cave, but I see a lot of things we didn't have time to stop for back then, downside of a guided holiday. I definitely want to do this again with my own family one day. 😊 Thanks for the tour.

    The answer is - obviously - a resounding 'No'. My advice would be to take in the north coast as part of an introductory tour.... then come back for the detail.. time and time again.

    Love your glamping cabin. You could live in it. Tiny houses are gaining popularity in the U.S. (& other places, too). You could move right in...it's a great tiny house!

    Bravo, Robert! Perhaps someday I'll ship my crappy Jeep across the pond and we'll do it again. I volunteer to be your foul-mouthed sidekick in a cowboy hat that just says "F... Me" at every bit of amazing scenery, and you say all the funny stuff. I think we could sell it. Remind me to drive on the correct side of the road. :)

    Love the west coast but the midges eat you alive in summer..last visit up to apple Cross/ Fort William/ glencoe ect must be nearly 20 year's ago and we went by motorbike and used campsites 😂...we are very lucky to live in such a beautiful country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥰❤️

    You can, but it’s not the same when rushed. I did it during Covid times, October 2020 and went on a Saturday afternoon and came back on a Wednesday and got a lot done but if I did it again would take at least a week to fully enjoy it.

    So thats an official bucket list holiday (cos no, I wanna stop and enjoy way more!) you should feel cheated Robert. However it is of course an area of must and so I will! Off to play it up to my kids 😁 they are older too so they can pay as well 😂😂😂

    You can do it in a weekend no problems you can also do it in a day but do it in may/June when the days are longer like we did when we was younger but that wasnt publicitsed then not like today people use it like a race track and no wonder the locals have the arse sometimes

    Okay.... really light on the death and religion but I'll let it slide this time :)
    What an amazing drive..in my younger years on a bike perhaps? Now... anything fast.. I could do some real damage on that road.
    By the by.. you know your wife is a saint .. right?
    If my husband did that trip without me.. he might be talking to my lawyer upon his return..to hell with 40+ years!!!

      They live about 5 mile away from where I live, they have their gym and their shop, they do cold water therapy all over the area

    The answer to the question, is no. You need at least 10 days to do the NC500 and that's just for some of the sights. I could spend months, just on the west side alone. Scotland gives you the best scenery every turn of the road.

    regarding the Hermits castle ,what's a bothy ?

      Traditionally, really basic accommodation for workers on farms or estates. Nowadays, they tend to be a basic shelter (a small house with no electricity etc) for walkers to use for shelter. There are a lot of them around the Scottish countryside. 🙂

      My wife and kids get car sick/bored. I wanted to see it but didn't want to be away from home for days.

    Done it in a day on a fazer 1000 spent the next day in bed recovering 🤣
