Read history and examine issues involved. Palestine was a name given by British in 1920 to territory now consisting of parts of Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Israel, Gaza, west bank. They declared that in it they will also constitute an Arab state and a Jewish state. In 1947 UN proposed a Partition plan which was accepted by the Jews but not by the Arabs. the Partition plan ,Muslim majority areas were for Arab state and Jewish majority areas plus Negev desert for state of Israel. Palestine as a State was first talked about by PLO in 1960s. In 1947 west Bank was absorbed by Jordan and Gaza by Egypt. Alphabet ''p'' doesn't exist in Arabic language, therefore, Palestine as a name could not have been Arabic!

There is a difference between being polite and ass kissing and protecting your own moneyed interests at the expense of Palestinian lives. Kishore as a public speaker has responsibility to speak the truth and call out Israel in the strongest terms possible in order to save Palestinian lives. If even one life is saved or even one child starves for one day less, then he should have done it.

A lot of people seem to have tuned out as soon as Mahbubani said he was a "friend of Israel." But Mahbubani has been pointing out the enormous damage that Western/American hypocrisy on Palestine has done to the West for years. He is very conscious of the rights of the Palestinians and has talked about it in the past. He is just being diplomatic.
