Long ago, in the Jinbei cover story, there was hints that the world of One Oiece was a post-apocalyptic one with the amount of submerged ruins in which sea beasts seem to live. Most likely the 20 Kingdoms had an army of devil fruit users while the Ancient Kingdom had none, which leads to the idea that Joy Boy was the first one who developed haki to fight back and also was the only one Ancient Kingdom citizen who consumed a devil fruit. Perhaps was too late and Joy Boy couldn't halt the collapse of his civilization but he was brilliant enough to save the information necessary to bring back the true history of the world.
This chapter was a 10/10 for me. Shaka drip is beyond insane, Jinbei seraphim with the swim swim fruit, the 6 Vegapunk reveals AND WE ARE FINALLY GETTING INFORMATION ABOUT THE VOID CENTURY?? Oda is a madman

Now, this give most certain with my personal theory that the fact one piece took timeline after the ages where earth at it's most advanced civilization, apocalypse caused by Armagedd*n level of w*r between c*rrupt earth gov(could be the ancient kingdom) at the time, maybe the 10th worldw*r or so (one piece world gov and 20 kingdom allies try to c*nquer them, could actually a good guy here, see that Gorosei characters are based on real life figures). And the ancient weap*n are somethings terri*ble that must be erased and forgot (ex: Mortal engines Movie). This idea came by what we see in (one piece) there's no other complexities creatures and islands found in real life, but those will possible where come a time, DNA modification & man-dream fantasy islands (ex: westworld series HBO), organic technology for d*vil fruits and Seraphims (ex: both exactly exist in "lost in space series Netflix"), AI like google laMDA, nano tech; as in this chapter Sanji and friends go through the Seraphim door's lab, space colony; the one Enel found in the moon could just one of a (pirate theme park) global elites's recreational places, etc. you guys add more of it. At that time all are commons things. What you guys think?, bl*w-up your reply!

I wonder if the space pirates from Eneru's cover story actually came from the One Piece world and left during the void century. Then they colonized some other planets around the galaxy. It would be cool if some secrets were to only be known by them.

I think the space pirates are a sort of proto minks. I suspect that they were brought to the moon as a force to protect something. I reckon that they have been abandoned by their former masters who returned to the one piece planet. So they might be stuck scrounging the 7 moons for resources.

With us now learning about how advanced the Ancient Kingdom was, it starts to make more and more sense why mostly everyone uses guns and swords from the 17 and 1800s. With all that and that Franky being the inventor that he is, I can't wait to see the Sunny or anything else the crew got get upgraded.

If anyone is from India they relate this with our ancient civilization during Vedic period.. Advance technology ( architecture, astronomical calculations and medicine Herb's such as sanjeevemi , flying cars (pushpaka viman) vahana)

Theorizing while watching/reading One Piece is one of my favorite things about the story and I really love the way Oda has been slowly unveiling the mysteries of the world he's built. The people who say one piece is too long don't seem to understand that it is beneficial to the world building in a VERY significant way, regardless of how long the series is.
World building is probably oda greatest strength in term of storytelling.

The length of One Piece is one of it's greatest strengths. It has to be as long as it is so things can pay off and the slow reveals make everything hit so hard. The world is insane. Can't wait for the Final Saga.

My theory is that the ancient kingdom were not just skilled at advanced mechanical devices, like robots, but they were also very good at genetic manipulation and engineering. In fact, that might have been their specialty. That would explain things like the denden mushi and even the devil fruits.
Thats actually a good theory
This explains a lot of plot points.
Of how things became his they were.
- how the red line was created with advanced technology
-ancient weapons are futuristic technology
- skypia clouds were created using tech
-Devil fruits were possibly advance experiments.
- celestial dragons have space suits as if they are from the moon makes sense they had access to the moon
-who possibly was a lot adance and created seastones to combat the devil fruits.
- the language of the ponelghs were an advance language that has long been forgotten
One thing that feels so insane in retrospect is the whole Pluton projects mess that happened in W7.
I've recently rewatched it with a friend and now i look at those scenes differently. Both when Iceburg and Franky saw the projects for the first time as well as when Franky showed a bit of the projects to Lucci and Kaku we NEVER got to see a glimpse of it but we could see the shocked reactions on theyr faces, and lines like "can humans really build something like that?" now have a whole new meaning.
Im expecting some form of hovership or hyperfuturistic war ship, and as far as Uranus goes... idk :D

i really like the post dystopia discovery. its really well done in mortal engines also. if you like one piece but enjoy the grimier real world murder scenes of TV, the book series mortal engines is incredible as it has the kid like wonder/fantasy, and the real world, fleshed out use of tech and common sense. especially among the powerful, such as the scientists of the guilds and the brutal tribe like rulers of the carnivorous, mobile cityscape machines. very steampunk
And don't let your opinion on the movie influence whether or not you read the books

What if Imu is actually a robot similar to the 6 vegapunks whos survived since the void century... or actually what if the Gorosei are. What if the Gorosei are to Imu what The 6 vegepunks are to the real Vegapunk. Would explain why they havnt aged sense the Ohara genocide.

Another interesting thought is what of Minks and Fishmen are genetically engineered weapons to combat the side that had devil fruits because if you think about it fishmen are kind of direct counter to the devil fruits.
Wait, I understand the Fishmen, but are the Minks then the counter to Lunarians? Because of their Sulong form, they become OP vs anything that relies on the moon. Or even further, if the previous war was also waged on people on the moon, were Minks sent to the moon as an attack force?
@@oguzcanoguz5977 I forgot to write down my thoughts about Minks because I kind of lost my train of thought there and decided not to edit. What caught my attention about Minks is the fact that they are natural born fighters which is a bit weird. We have a whole race of half-beasts that are probably at the baseline stronger that a normal human and they have some sort of natural combat sense. Also I actually think that people from the moon created Minks and Fishmen since Minks have direct connection to the moon and we all know that moon affects the seas and ocean. Then again the thing with Minks might just be a reference to Sayians from Dragon Ball and there isn't much to it. It's not a proper theory just some random thoughts that came into my head and they kind of fun to think about.

just had a random thought. Even the revolutionaries who are at war with the world gov did not know about imu. Sabo who was right under dragon didnt know, and i assume dragon never knew either. So if the admirals dont know since there directly under the gorosei and they assume that the gorosei are the top, then what would happen if akainu learned that the gorosei was not the top but actually imu, and his whole life he based his justice on lies. I think he would be pissed.

I agree that the downfall of the Ancient Kingdom was because of the traitors living in that kingdom. When Whitebeard said "You are not the man Roger is waiting for" to Blackbeard , it gives perfect sense that some of the descendants of D. had been traitors that wanted to seize more power (Blackbeard killed Thatch because of Yami Yami No Mi = more power) so they teamed up with 20 kingdoms. In the end, maybe a few of these traitors became Celestial Dragons and the rest of them became pirates (Rocks D Xebec , Blackbeard) because the 20 kingdoms did not want to give so much power to them.
Strange how he didn’t mention how Oars has 900 on his arm and the armor is just like Oars
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking about the Wheel of Time series when Oda revealed information about the Void Century. I always loved that "highly technological ancient civilization" trope.
Crazy theory time!
In chapter 287 (according to reddit) when the sun god is mentioned abiut the alter, it names 3 other gods - god of the forest, god of the rain, and god of the earth. I think Imu has the earth god fruit and used it to raise the red line. I also think they are in posession of the rain god fruit which they used to flood the earth. And I think the last god is Blackbeard.
The forest god in the panel mentioning the four gods has 2 sets of 3 "thumps" while the other 2 have 1 set, so it could somehow be foreshadowing that they had two powers. This also ties into the 5 mermaids, Ichika, Nika, Sanka, Yonka, and Yonka Two. We know the sun god is named Nika, maybe the earth god is named Yonka and Yonka two is foreshadowing the second power. This also ties back to Sanji's siblings, with them named in the same scheme except his siter who is named Reiju AKA "spiritual one". And given that "only god can Judge you" that can kinda fit albeit a bit of a stretch (pun intended).
Alternatively, dragon is the rain god and green bull is the forest god, imu is the earth god and luffy is the sun god for a final battle, but that doesn't feel like what Oda has been setting up (although Dragon having the rain god be legit).
I think the ancient kingdom was destroyed due to a greedy traitor, and that traitor could be Imu-sama, who has been hiding in the shadows all this time. This only means that Imu-sama is the last living survivor of that ancient kingdom, and joyboy in the other hand is the one who is destined to stop him.
Very nice parallel with The Wheel of Time... Both in the depth of the lore and the record breaking length for a story around a single hero in a single storyline.

Just thought about Vegapunks personalities, what if Vegapunk is actually from the void century?
Where He/she has every couple of years just kept the memories from previous lives and moved into a new body.
So Vegapunk maybe isn't some prodigy that just happens to be very smart, Vegapunk just has an insane amount of knowledge that has been stored over several years.
This could also be why Vegapunk was working with Judge on the cloning, because Vegapunk was looking into ways of creating clones that never died due to age so that he could move his memories into and become an immortal "human/clone".
If he managed to move his brain into a clone that didn't age, he wouldn't have to go through the "growing up" phase and could just forever keep working on science.
If my memory serves me right, Vegapunk was once a kid and created the island that Franky landed on during 2y time skip.
This means that if it's true, then Vegapunk can only transfer his brain into newborns (maybe otherwise it's some type of info-overload)
From what we've learnt so far, we don't know who the "main body" is, that might be because there isn't any. All of them are and all of them aren't vegapunk. Vegapunk is he/she who holds the memories of the person from the void century.
This could also tie Brook into the story really well, because of his devil fruit.

i knew it, i think one piece is gonna be quite similar yet dissimilar to Magi in how it approaches history... though this was easy to guess, cause of the tech being used in the one piece universe is quite varied from old cutlass and flintlock rifle to lazers, robots and heavy artillery

Dude thank you so much for the shout out on the work done by Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock. The younger dryas impact hypothesis and surround evidence is a huge influence on how I think in my daily life and it was cool to see it cross over here.
I don't know what they said exactly, but it's a fact the the ancient Egyptians lacked the ability to cut out the dense Quartz stones with mere copper tools.
Also the statues Don't match the kings who claimed them.

I had the feel that this was the case. Since the legends of space travel in Skypia. And some of the older movies gave me that vibe too.
what if after one piece ends oda can do a prequal of it in another series which is centered around the folklore of the previous civilization and an adventure that may have occurred then this may cover how the things we see in the present times of one piece came to be and uncover alot of buried secrets and their past and how what led the world to go in such a frenzy while also centering it on a couple of characters that go on an adventure much like what follows here

Hmmm not necessarily, VP might have already have a copy of lineage factor of Swim Fruit to be implemented into the Serpahim before when Senor Pink had it. When Pink was young and married, he dont have an ability then. Or theres another way to copy it while the current user is alive by means of Science, cause every Pacifista and Seraphim have Kizaru's laser beam attack and that seems to be an evidence of that.

I’m fairly sure I saw a video a few months ago from Tekking that talked about- exactly this, what he thought the one piece world was. He said it could be a post apocalyptic world of sorts. I don’t remember the video, but i’m certain I’ve heard something like this before. This is awesome!

The Ancient Kingdom destroyed in One Piece that had advanced technology could have been based of Atlantis, as it was a highly advanced civilization that was destroyed by corruption/meteors impacts. Also, wouldn’t be too far fetched since Oda has used Atlas as a character as he was not only a Greek Titan, but also the eldest son of Poseidon who Atlantis was named after

I said something like, I think in the past had a lot of advanced technology, but was wiped out from history by the world government. Though Vegapunk would have the knowledge on how to build these things and that’s why Vegapunk was so useful to the world government.
Partly why I came up with it is because I thought of Genshin Impact lore and compared it to One Piece.
A small part of Genshin lore goes something like, the ancient civilisations had advanced tech, but the gods known as Celestia, erased it all for the purpose of preventing humans from having a chance to go against the gods

Pretty much every fantasy story ever had that plot twist, even games like Zelda. It's a really outdated trope and I wasn't sure how to feel about it in the beginning. I think it's kinda fitting for One Piece and you have to take into account that Oda probably came up with that story in the late 90s, when it wasn't done to death already.

I have a personal theory that I feel makes sense that is the sunny is going to get an upgrade and that makes sense considering the size of the crew like before the sunny was not made for ginbe and Yamato who are way larger than the whole crew and ntm there's 11 including Yamato and probably even vivy probably. Also I just feel the sunny Is due for an update like a rader and the same system the government uses to travel throughout the calm belt.

Wheel of Time is only the beginning: fantasy worlds turning out to be post-apocalyptic scifi is very common in older stories. Sadly, in recent decades we've moved on from such things, as the fantasy and science fiction became their own distinct genres - and more boring genres, if you ask me. That's why this reveal hits so hard for me: I can well imagine Oda-Sensei reading the exact same old favourites tales of mine!
Other things to look for: Michael Moorcock's books, especially the Hawkmoon trilogy, which deals with a so-called "Dark Millennium"; Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, a seemingly fantasy setting with rocketships and laser weapons and bio-engineering giants; Jack Vance's Dying Earth stories; Terry Brooks's Shannara; Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian, which deals with just such lost age in our own distant past, as well as Kull, which goes even further before; Brian Aldiss's Helliconia, which moves the premise on an alien world with two suns, experiencing an ice age every few millennia... and this is just on top of my head. I'm sure I missed a crucial one or few, and there are even more I myself have never read in my life but should.
If this reveal hit you like a truck, then I urge you to read some of the above. You won't regret it.
