Your show too Mike. I know 100s of cops & fireman in NY & everyone of them know about your show & respect the hell out of you. If your ever in Detroit you better look me up!! I’ll serve you the best firehouse meal you ever had! My Detroit Coney Island Casserole is a staple in my old house E33 L13. We might even oil you up for a game of human slip & slide bowling 😂
I have a good feeling about this podcast. I felt like I was setting at the kitchen table listening to the senior men talking about the old days. Keep them coming I'm a US navy EOD vet and private military contractor.
I wish we could get Mike back for his own show. Guy’s, across the country just think about this. He gave more 1st due 10/75s like 5 years in a row! I’d give a million dollars just to pick his brain at a Firehouse kitchen table for a full tour with him. Mike your such a humble guy so I’ll say it for you! This guy has seen more fire than anyone else alive today. 1-2-3 first due jobs a day!!???? Hats off to you bro
Hello from the great state of Texas. I am a 9 year career FF/EMT and I guess I can call myself a "dinger" lol. I am definitely gonna start using that down in here Texas with my FF brothers. I am currently studying for my first LT. promotion exam and listening to this definitely makes me love this job much more with ya'lls guys stories. This is my first episode and already my favorite podcast this year. I have had the honor of visiting the big city back in 2015 and got to be a "dinger" at a couple FDNY fire houses . My wife knows every time we travel to another big city we dedicate a day to visit a couple fire houses. I got to visit SQUAD 252 in Brooklyn and i can say every FDNY house i visited was extremely welcoming. I cant wait till all goes back to normal and we can visit NYC again The FDNY defines the brotherhood in the fire service. Ya'll brothers stay safe in NYC Thanks
This episode may be a year old but I loved it, I’m a 22 year old probie currently taking my firefighter 1 class to become an interior fire fighter in upstate ny

I hope you're enjoying your retirement sir! I'm just a fire and police groupie, my father was a Waterbury Police Captain for 30 years, he died in 2018 😰
A Detroit Fireman comes to work everyday knowing he will be stretching on something. Mike is someone we can relate to & understand his thoughts and patterns of thinking. Maybe a DFD officer & Mike together would be a great show??
Haha just came across this. Nicely done brothers. 16yrs career in MD. We got a term here in the mid-atlantic, tic. Used to identify a volly. Not ALL vollies but some.
A wacker in our area refers to a young guy who joins a company or multiply companies and chases fires in neighboring towns. (a premium wacker will warrant a few calls to his chief) They carry multiply pagers, better radios then the issued radios and carries a halligan and water can in their trunk. They will wear tees shirts from any town they can mooch one from.
Came back to where it all began. Look how far this show has come in such a short amount of time!
