Im proud to say Jack Kleehaus and Lee Ielpi were my mentors ,in the mid 70s i met and became friends with Lee,we were in the vollies together, and i started to go and ride with the rescue,we would pick Jack up at his house and ride into work together, and that was it ,i knew what i wanted to do ! .I will never forget before i was on the job what a thrill getting to ride with the rescue,first on Dekalb,and then Bergen st. They were such an inspiration to me ,i learned so much from them, and it helped me tremendously . i wound up having a great career in the FDNY and basically owe it all to them.I was lucky to work with Jack later in my career in south queens......incredible!!

I just re watched this show. And I have watched the intro over and over where Pete gets pissed at Kevin for making noise. That had to be one of the funniest moments of all time on the show!!
20 truck has some variety of buildings..factories warehouse s tenements lofts...highrises...in 50s probies went to firehouse before proby school..my Dad started in 31 engine 1959
Wicked shot of Ladder 20! Seagrave with wire grating over the jump seat window ( a sad commentary on the times ). Sharp rig. Boston ran many of these too.
