Calm, collected, dignified, integrity and humble are all words that come to mind. The chief must have been a phenomenal figurehead and seems a complete true gentleman. Upmost respect. Thank you guys and stay well 🙏💥❤
Thank You Chief Kilduff for your thoughtful mention of Harry. I still look for him to walk in the door with another great story. He loved the job and all the guys....he lived his dream. Lynne W.
Great show Chief Kilduff! One of the most humble command level people I've heard on the show! The common theme here is even at the command level, humility, openness and willingness to listen and learn from others is paramount! Chief Kilduff's philosophy and leadership style is the exact style I always pursued as an officer which during my 15 years as an fire officer (captain), I rarely ever had to tell my company what they needed to do on a job-- would brief them in the headsets what we had prior to arrival and after that they just bailed off the apparatus and went to work!
You all need to read the book. " Finding John" by Andrew Serra, 131 member at the time and now Captain of 20 Truck. It is a fantastic read about the vindication of 4 Truck and so much more...
very smart and nice guy..I agree with his perspective...ive stepped up and did what I could even if alot of guys just knock you..the firehouse is your home...make it great !
Faster than anything else on our job IMO. It happened to me. One second everything was good the next second a blow torch. We caused the air flow redirection by forcing a door in an apartment above the fire apartment that had a slider door wide open. We thankfully got in and quickly shut the door but both of us got burned. I can’t imagine that happening and not instantly having a place of refuge. Air flow is the real deal on our job!

Pete , I'm glad you pointed it out... The Chief, who made it the top. Talked about everybody else much more than himself.

Be "all in".
We need Captain Ruvolo.
We've lost several firefighters (Houston Fire Department) due to wind-driven fires. These fires will kick you quickly!
