Also gotta say the “stiffness” kinda makes this look more badass in a way. The fact that she never runs and just executes all her attack from this straight standing position makes her look like she’s not even trying.
As much as I love fast action games, I like this because it feels like the early Souls games, and we don't see much of that nowadays, most soulslikes now are closer to Sekiro.
Just finished the demo doing parry only, parrying is very clunky at first. My issue was that knockdown recovery is too long. Every time I got up enemy already was mid animation to hit me so with no time to dodge input I got thrown down again and again. Epecially with fast enemies. Would be cool if you could time dodge button the moment you hit ground to recover for second wind.
I only have 1 problem with this boss. The arena is wayyyyyy too big for a boss the same size as you. She isn't exactly doing massive blast to the arena like Radagon from Elden ring so not sure why they made the arena so spacious. Most of the fight feels like you running to her to close this huge distance
I like how you just keep walking forward. Makes it feel like you’re the boss. A lean dodge in a souls like is amazing actually Tho. Yeah. Combat should be a bit faster and animations are a bit stiff and low budget. Still looks pretty cool and I kinda like the idea of smaller budget soulslikes trying new things.
The demo was good, a bit of a shame that the heavy weapons basically don't have any advantages, they don't hit harder than a straight sword whilst being slower and don't have the no commitment feel of dual blades, they just have slightly more range which sucks.
Im finished the demo, and I am fighting the hunter of blades. This game is fun but needs work. It's very stiff and slow with attacks and dodging. Also when you get knocked down it takes for ever to get up. Its a lot of fun but one mistake and your whole rhythm gets ripped apart lmao. I havent beat this boss yet im getting close but I still need to time the parry better. If they fix the mc i think the game would be a lot better. 6.5 out of 10, so far

The fromsoft formula is just that good and amazing. I am a souls fan and i am not complaining, i love it, more challenges to overcome, wonderful.
Here's my opinion: 1) Controls are very stiff, unsatisfying: 4 directional dodge. People disliked it back in Dark Souls 1, somehow devs of this game missed the memo, though. Super slow attacks, which lack certain umpf, probably due to weak sound design. 2) Weak sound design: it feels like there is the bare minimum of sounds like steps, attack and interaction. Sounds that do exist are kinda mediocre and lack contrast (sound muddy, watered down) 3) Both player and enemy attacks sound like someone's hitting a puddle. They lack a certain sharpness, weight and a satisfying umpf. 4) Attack are telegraphed, but in a annoying way. Most attacks are very fast switches between poses, rather than proper animation with anticipation -> attack -> recovery. Makes enemies look pretty boring, artificial and unsatisfying to dodge. It's not new, Lies of P and The Surge had enemies like that, but lack of proper sound design makes this even more boring to fight against. 5) Game doesn't run all that well for what it offers visually. Code Vein (closest game visually) arguably looks similar or even better, yet runs 4x times on similar hardware. But in general, game looks like Code Vein, but doesn't have as much polish and budget behind it. That's quite a bummer, considering Code Vein was a pretty clunky game with many underdeveloped parts already. This feels even less, more like a tech demo, than a demo of an alpha or beta build.
@@enot2140Still it's pretty decent in my play so far, I have not encountered any problems and the dodge imo is fine. And I like the movement actually, don't think it's too stiff but yes it's somewhat stiff but I didn't really notice it that much and wasnt bugging me.
I think alot of thing in this game should have it own identity and design like weapon tempo , animation or particle timing . It can be more than 1:1 soul game copy .

I was so happy to get this game on my pc when it's finally out because it seems a little like phantom blade zero, but after playing the demo, I wouldn't even spend 5 bucks for this trash. The character is so slow while all the robots moving like flash and striking through wall, WTF! I wouldn't even play this game for free

It’s really not. That definitely took practice. I’m not great at souls games but he wasn’t in the hunter of bladers fight long enough for the bullshit to happen. Unless it was a bug but still. It’s not as easy as he makes it look. The parry window is tiny and there’s a delay
the game is definitely not easy, i did a no hit video for all the bosses as well and the hunter of bladers takes some work forsure. you can't really say a game is easy by watching it until you play it, of course the video of something like this will look easy, now actually doing it? not the same.
